I'm trying to update apps on my ipad
I'm signed into itunes but app is signed in to a different user. how to I sign out of app store to sign in correctly?
You can log out of an account by tapping on your id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app and you can then sign in with a different account. But all content is tied to the account that downloaded it, so only the account that originally downloaded an app can download updates to it.

I added apps by syncing with a Mac. It was under my husband's ACCT. When I tried to update apps on my iPad, it was his account. How do I change this? It only happens when I try to update apps
Apps will always be tied to the account from which they were purchased.
If they were purchased from your husbands account, then they will have to update using that account. -
I have been trying to update apps on my iPad for the last week. I get a blank screen under updates. However the other App Store functions work. Not sure how to fix this. iPad updates are up to date.
The update server is down; try this temporary workaround
App Store>Purchased>Select "All"
Note: Look out for apps that have the word "Update"

When trying to update Apps in iTunes on my computer my old Apple ID appears, which is no longer in use and has no password; even when I try to create a password for this Old ID, Apple won't let me. When I go into see my Account settings My new Apple ID / iTunes ID are listed and the passwords are correct obviously so why can't I update my Apps? Why does my Old apple ID keep appearing and how can I get Apple to change this?
I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account. I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there. On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back. Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email. The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option? -

delete off any apps that are asking for the wrong apple id and download/sync them over from the correct one

When trying to update apps it asks for account password but it doesn't show my account ID, it shows my dad's. How can I fix this so I can sign in?
It sounds like the apps were purchased using your dads account, so they will have to be updated using that account.

my friend gave me ipod touch with all his accounts, i created new accounts but when i went on the appstore and tried to update apps installed by him,i was asked his account's password! i dont know his password.how can i use my account to update apps?
You can't. Apps and really all content purchased/downloaded through one Apple ID is forever tied to that Apple ID. In the case of Apps they will always request that Apple ID to update as they are licensed to that Apple ID.
In reality, the Apps were licensed to that Apple ID by the developer. And cannot simply be given away to you for you to use.
He should have wiped the iPod clean so you could set it up for your use without any of his accounts or purchased content as you are not really licensed to any of those Apps.
Your friend should have followed this support document before giving the iPod to you:

On My Mac Pro Getting an unknown error message when trying to update apps
On My Mac Pro Getting an unknown error message when trying to update apps To Perchase Mountain Lion
Try signing out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again and see if that works for you.
Settings>Store>Apple ID - tap your ID and sign out.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Sign in again -Settings>Store>Apple ID - sign in.
If that doesn't work either, reset your iPad and see if that helps.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. -

"unknown error has occurred" while trying to update apps
Hi all, hoping someone can help:
When trying to update apps in the App store, after being prompted to log into the app store, I get the error message "An unknown error has occurred" in red. I've tried restarting (the app and my mac) clearing the cache, and my firewall is not on. I am able to sign in to the the Itunes store, but cannot sign in at all to the App store. Any insights? Thanks!Make sure you are signed out of iTunes before signing in to the Mac App Store.
And try deleting App Store pref file..
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist
Click Go then move the com.apple.appstore.plist file to the Trash.
Restart your Mac and try the App Store. -

When I am trying to update app... It's showing that my id is disabled.. Why?
We are fellow users here on these forums, we won't know why it's disabled. You might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
If you have an iPhone, iPad and/or iPod Touch you might then need to log out of your account on it by tapping on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6+) and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on it
If that doesn't fix it then you might need to contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page -
