I'm trying to use iWeb to set up a blog i want to run on godaddy.

I have a web site built with iweb it has blogging with commenting enabled, when i publish the to mobleme the commenting works and thins can be added. When i put the site in a folder to move it to my other website, on godaddy the commenting does not work any ideas how i get it to work.
Also is there a way to only publish one site on iWeb not everything?

I am trying to use IWeb and need a lot more information. Does anyone know where I can get a book on how to build a website on IWeb?

No, no-one in this forum has ever used iWeb. Browse this forum and you'll see that nobody has even heard of the app.
Anyway, start by reading the iWeb Help. It's a great source of information to start with.
And here are some video tutorials by Apple :

And note that iWeb is not PhotoShop (Elements) v.v. So don't compare them.
And I'm sure that filling a blank page with content isn't very difficult to do.
Remember Kindergarten? Did you need a tutorial to use the crayons?

Using iWeb Template for Word Press Blogging

Does anyone know if Apple will allow the use of a template included with software to be uploaded to Word Press for use on a blogging page? I don't know if Word Press would accept it because Apple is touchy about these things. I also sent an email to Word Press asking about this but haven't received a response yet. Since I used to iWeb to design my site how else to bring consistency to my blogging page if I don't use Apple's web space?

I've already designed a great looking site with iWeb and don't want to change it. The Word Press templates are so boring. The Word Press site says it does allow people to upload customized templates but they seem concerned about copyright infringement and go out of their way to say that just making a minor change to someone else's template is not adequate. Hmm, can I legitimately turn "else" into a possessive? I suppose I could just point my Internet domain to the web.mac.com space I have with Apple but I'm not sure the comments and other features would work right. Why not just use the Apple site? First, the naming convention is more than people are used to; second, Apple seems to have too many outages with dot mac, now mobile me site.

Using iweb without Mac Me ?

i cannot publish because Mac Me is no longer available and i dont have a previous subscription.
i would like to use Mac to publish my site without going external is this still possible?
i have read about going through another hositing site.
but i would rather stay using Mac programs and Hostings if i still can.

Unfortunately there isn't a way to publish to mobileme unless you already have an account there, and even if you did I wouldn't suggest getting it all set up and then having to change it next july.
I'd recommend purchasing a domain name and hosting from somewhere like Lunarpages.com and then they will provide you with the FTP settings to load your page up onto.

The main thing is that you want to get yourself set up with something that will be around and supported for quite a long time so you don't have to redo things again.
Keep in mind that from the looks of it iWeb isn't being developed anymore... at least get yourself publishing to another service. It will take effort and work, but it will be your best option.

How can I use iweb 1.1.2 for more than one user account on my macbook?

I wonder if someone can guide me or point me to a previous answer on this, since I haven't found one. I'm simply trying to use iweb 1.1.2 on two user accounts (both labled as administrators) on our macbook. The program functions fine on one account, but when I switch over to another user account on the computer iweb will open, but does not let me start a new page, save, etc.

Welcome to the discussions. If iWeb's menus are greyed out, the following trick has worked for some:
In the user account which does not let you start a new page, save, etc. — Quit iWeb. Start iPhoto. Select a couple of photos, click on the iWeb icon at lower right and choose Photo Page. iWeb will open up and invite you to choose a template for your new Photos page. Choose any template so that the page is created and then delete that newly created page.
...Now perhaps things are no longer greyed out in iWeb.

Using iWeb without .Mac=TOTAL TORTURE

I've been trying to use iWeb to author a website and host it somewhereother than .Mac. What a total nightmare!!!!!!
There's got to be something I'm missing!
I publish my site to a folder, and upload the files the my hosting service.
Here's what is giving me trouble-
1. All image reference addresses are directed to the folder location on my hard drive, there is no way (short of rewriting the source code) to have iWeb automatically insert the web location of links and images globally within the site.
2. Random characters and code are inserted into my pages, usually a capital "A" figure with a small triangle on top of it. This causes much trouble and I have to go find these and manually delete them in the code.
3. In order to use iWeb to make multiple independent sites, you have to go into the application library and move the domain file to another folder.
It seems strange that Apple would make such a powerful program to basically sell .Mac subscriptions...

Don't know what you're talking about. What's the url? What ftp program are you using to upload?

Huge numbers of people use iWeb to create sites for non-.Mac servers with no problems.

If you put your documents in iWeb itself they'll be stored in iWeb's Domain file — which is vulnerable to corruption. The following alternative is not necessarily the best way, but take a look at the variety of document types you can store for free on Posterous:

I'm publishing it with GoDaddy and when I do that the interactive functions of the blog page don't work. (Adding comments and photos as well as searching). Is there any simple way to host this site somewhere so that those functions work?

No, because all those functions were MobileMe only and now that MobileMe has gone, they won't function any longer.
To enable these to function, you either need to add them yourself or change your blogging platform to something else such as WordPress etc., and create a link from iWeb to your WordPress blog or embed the blog page using iframe into your iWeb site.
Commenting systems such as Disqus or http://www.intensedebate.com work quite well.

Not padded RSA is only working with fixed block length, which is related to key size used for encryption or decryption. So, you can't just work with block of 8 bytes if you are using 1024bit key.
By the way, JCOP has an exellent card simulator and debugger where you can easily see a concrete exception from your code.

How do I set up streaming video using iWeb

Where can I get a straight forward guide to setting up a streaming video to my web site. I use iWeb to design and publish my web sites to mac.com. And I have a personal domain that I host on mac.com.
I want to set up a wireless web cam because location of my routers and iMac preclude a direct connection. I know that I need to have access to a video streaming server but do not know how to get this service.
I was hoping someone could recommend a good quality wireless web camera for less than $300. What additional software do I need on my iMac? Do I need to add code to my web site?
Really looking for a soup-to-nuts guide. I have tried connecting the dots on a lot of forum posts and have become very confused.

It all depends on your webcam what it can do.
Webcam streaming usually is nothing more than putting JPEGS on a server in rapid succession. Then the browserwindows refreshes to pick up the new image. That takes time, so an image refreshes every 20 seconds.
I also have seen JavaApplets that do basically the same.
One way or the other you have to set up a webpage that either refreshes the image or that embed a JavaApplet.
Your webcam has to have access to the server to upload the images.
It all depends on your webcam and the software that comes with it.
I once used [Evocam sofware|http://www.evological.com/evocam.html]. It is more advanced today.
You can use the HTML Snippet to embed either solution in an iWeb page.
Then practice.

Since you can see it in your device list it must have Find My Mac activated, but you're going to have to wait for them to take it online in order to either locate, lock or wipe it. Until it goes online you can't do anything. http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/find-my-device/
