I'm unable to change my install location for my apps.

I'm unable to change my install location for my apps. I changed the preferences to the harddrive I want the apps to download to, but they keep trying to download to C.I don't have enough room on that drive

Fixed. It seems like for whatever reason it took a good 10 - 15 minutes for it to recognize the changes in the preference menu

Which operating system are you using?
In photoshop elements 6, as far as i know, you can only change the Reference Point Location for transforms using the small grid in the left hand corner of the tool options bar with Transform enabled.

Very simple question, how do you configure windows 8.1 to use a SD card / external drive as the default install location for software applications? Primarily interested in apps installed from the windows store. This should be available in the settings
charm within the windows store. This must have been overlooked in the development of windows 8.1 or is a bug.

The registry method does not work with 8.1.  I found this out the hard way.  Doing it on 8.1 will leave you reinstalling the OS if you didn't do a SRP beforehand.

unable to change username and password for wifi network

Thanks, this solved my problem. Network kept demanding username; I guess it's different from the computer ID I use. Whatever, it wasn't easy to find the network listed, but by trial and error, I found it, highlighted it, and pressed delete key. Now the network only asks for password, which I knew, and I'm on. Great advice. But why computer was configured to do that in the first place is why I prefer PC to my wife's inscrutable macbook pro.

  • On my iPhone 6 how do I change iPhone apple id for the app store. it is in someone elses name?

    hello I need help,
on my iPhone 6 how do I change iPhone apple id for the app store. it is in someone elses name?

Why is it in someone else's name?
Did you get this iPhone from that someone else?
If so they should have released the iPhone form their account before giving it to you.
All purchases made with that account will be forever tied to it and will require it to update in the case of Apps.
If nothing has been purchased, you can go into Settings->iTunes & App Stores->Apple ID and sign out of their account there , and sign in with your own.

  • How do I change the install location of Photoshop Elements 12

I downloaded elements through Adobe Download Assistant to my D:/ drive on my Win 8.1.
When I continue to install it, it only gives me the option to install it to "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\PSE12STIInstaller".
I tried to open it as an Administrator but I'm still unable to change it, it doesn't even give me the option.
Am I not supposed to be able to change it?
    Thanks, Isak.

OaknestHill you can choose the install location during the installation process.  Please see the screen shot I took below of the appropriate screen.
You will want to click on the Change button to select your installation location.  Please be aware there are shared files/resources which will still reside on the hard drive which contains your operating system.
If you are unable to click on the Change button then I would recommend you begin with trying the installation under a newly created local administrator account.

  • Unable to change apple ID location

I was trying to make a purchase recently, but a message telling me I needed to update my billing info came up. For some reason, my country is listed as China (I live in Canada, I've never even been to China). I tried changing my country back, but I am unable to. I get to the "choose your country or region" page, and it says "You need a valid method of payment and billing address for a country in which iTunes is available. Please select a country from the lis below. If a country is not listed, it means iTunes is not available in that country yet."
The problem is, there is no list to choose from. The page is blank, aside from that message. Ive tried restarting my ipad, logging out, but the page is always blank. I'm not even sure how my country was changed from Canada to China in the first place, but now I am unable to change it back. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are doing it via the iTunes & App Store option in Settings, then once you click on your AppleID, and then click on View AppleID>Country/Region>Change Country or Region, then you also need to click on "Store" where it is showing China right now.
Once you click on "Store" it will then display the list, and you can scroll down to Canada.
    That should fix you up.
But you are really going to have to do something about that sleepwalking problem!!!
    Cheers,

  • Is it possible to change the install location during pkgadd

    Hi Forum,
I've downloaded several updated applications from sunfreeware.com and would like to install them to /usr/sfw. The package was built to install them to /usr/local. Is there a flag I can use during pkgadd to modify the default install location?
I tried -R /usr/sfw but that sets the "root" location so my install path would end up looking like /usr/sfw/usr/local.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers,
    Tim

Is there a flag I can use during pkgadd to modify the default install location? No. More to the point, it's very possible that the software won't work properly if moved. For instance a binary might be looking for configuration information in a particular path. It could be trying to open /usr/local/var for logging and /usr/local/etc/ for configuration information.
If the package is very flexible, they can prompt for an install location and do the right thing. But that's not something that is easily forced on packages otherwise.
I tried -R /usr/sfw but that sets the "root" location so my install path would end up looking like /usr/sfw/usr/local.Right. It also updates the package databases in an alternate location. You shouldn't use it for normal packages.

  • How do I change the default locations for the iTunes music and iPhone back-up folders?

My computer's hard drive is partitioned, with one partition having all of the Windows system files, and the other having all of my documents, music, videos, etc.  When I installed iTunes, it automatically created its music and iPhone folders on the Windows partition.  I've been able to change the default save folders for other programs to the second partition, but I'm having troubles finding this option in iTunes (I even went back and re-installed it to see if I could find it that way, but no dice).  Is there a way to change the default folders for the iTunes library and iPhone files?  It takes up A LOT of space on my Windows partition, so it would be very great to get that moved over.
    Thanks!

You can't selectively move individual folders withing the iTunes  folder, but you can move the entire folder to, say, an external dive. To delink the iTunes application to the new library location:
Open iTunes while holding down the Option key (Mac) or Shift key (Windows).
In the resulting dialog, click the Choose Library button.
Select the iTunes folder you moved to the external hard drive.
Click Choose (Mac OS X) or Open (Windows) and then choose the iTunes Library file inside .

  • Changing the Default Location for Backups

I've just downloaded PC Suite 6.81.13.0. How do I change the default location where backups are stored on my laptop? The default location stores the data in an location that is not compatible with my company network profile. I want to store the data in a different location, but I can't see any option to allow me specificy the location.

You have to re-index your Library by dragging/dropping the main Library folder into the Loop browser.

  • How can I change the path location for an entire album?

    Hi everyone:
If I move a folder containing an album to another location for organizational purposes, every song in the album is now lost in the library. As I know it there are two options:
    1. Manually open each individual song info and find the location one at a time. Insanely slow, tedius and painful when repeating for many albums.
    2. Delete the lost songs and re-add them. While this is faster for finding locations it eliminates Rating and playlist information for the songs because the songs are now new dictionary items in the library. Which is probably even more painful.
I am looking for 1 or 2 more options:
    3. Manually select multiple songs (or an album from the album list) and edit the path to the song locations (minus the filenames which would remain as before). This is still a pain but much more manageable.
    4. A feature that automatically finds missing songs. It wouldn't be that difficult. Add a tag to the song file with the unique db ID. Whenever a song is lost search the designated directory structure for the iTunes media. You could even import existing ID tags when creating a new library in case you are rebuilding your library or some other such activity.
My question is for #3. #4 would be a fairly simple, effective and very useful feature, so I concede it's a pipe dream. If anyone can answer #3 I would GREATLY appreciate it!!
    Thanks,
    Raiden

Type about:config in the address bar. Find browser.download.dir and change it to the path you want. Remember that Android has a linux base so the path will similar to /mnt/sdcard/downloads/
