I am trying to free up some room on my touch and am unable to delete any songs or books from the listing. With iTumes open and my touch listed I open the touch. I then select the items I want to delete from the touch and press the delete button. Nothing happens. I have also tried to right click on the item, but a delete option is not listed. What do I need to do to get rid of some books?

i have read up on all about crashes and i cant even open it in safe mode :( i have tried deleting it and reinstalling it but the problem still persists. What would you suggest i do and is there any way i canget hold of firefox 6 for mac?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

My ipad does not communicate with my iphone on one of my email accounts and will not remove deleted emails that are done on the iphone and vice versa, what setting needs to be changed?
It's my understanding that an iPhone can only sync with one computer. You need to choose one computer. Sounds like it syncs at work, but not at home. If you want to just sync it at home, then you have to make sure the home computer has all the info that you want on it, like music etc. Then you have to deauthorize the work computer for it to sync at home. When you connect it will ask if you want to set up as a new iPhone or restore from backup. If you don't have a backup on the home computer then either way you will be wiped clean. So any photos, contacts, notes etc you have will be erased. You would need to backup or copy your photos from your iPhone. When you connect it to your home computer, it will give you that popup message to open your iPhone files. Then you can copy those photos and save them onto your computer and sync them back in through iTunes.
For your contacts, do you use any type of address book? If so you'll want to back that up and then transfer to your home computer. For notes, you can just email those to yourself and then save that email. I use MobileMe so the contacts issue is easily resolved. -

I got a Mac and started buying music on it, and My PC has all of my whole Itunes library which is like 1000+. Well I want to put all of my music on my Mac, But everytime I plug it in and ask it to sync all music it tells me that I have to erase my Ipod and sync in with the music on my Mac... I am unable to delete an email account/profile in the settings for Mail/Contacts/etc.
I have 3 email accounts and on 2 of them there is the "Delete Account" red button at the bottom, but for one of them it is not an option. This particular account that I am trying to remove was installed using the iOS setup tool from GoDaddy.com, which is the host for my work email. These were the instructions I was asked to follow to setup the IMAP account on my iPad:
1. Go to the GoDaddy website (full site) in Safari
2. Type "Apple" in search bar top right.
3. Select "Automatically Setting up Email on Your Apple Mobile Device"
4. Select "Email InfoCenter"
5. Type in my email and password.
6. In email info center, select "Auto Setup fo iOS"
7. In the popup, there is a link in bold letters, select that and copy it, then paste it into your Safari address field at the top and go to that site.
8. Follow instructions and type in your password to validate.
This installs your IMAP account on your iPhone or iPad automatically. So when you go to Mail, it is there as an option.
The problem is that I can't figure out how to delete it!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Deleted mail does not appear in the trash can
When I delete mail from my inbox I can't see it on the Trash "On My Mac". I have set the trash settings to delete everything after one week. Does anyone know why this is happening or how I might be able to fix it.
ThanksOn the Mac without an account named Trash mailbox for the POP account under Trash in the Mailboxes drawer, is "Move deleted messages to a separate folder" selected under the Mailbox Behaviors tab for the account preferences?
If so, the account's Trash mailbox is located in the account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account) at Home > Library > Mail > this POP account named folder > Deleted Messages.mbox folder.
Not at Home > Library > Mail > Mailboxes.
The Deleted Messages.mbox folder within the Mailboxes folder represents the "On My Mac" named Trash mailbox under Trash in the mailboxes drawer. -

I can't open the Settings. It opens for a sec and then closes. any ideasFirst try to reset your device by holding the home and power button for about 30 seconds until you see a silver apple, after that let go of the buttons and let your device start up normally. This will not remove any settings or information from your device.

Hi, I have a 7th gen ipod nano and am having a problem with deleting songs. I can select the track in my ipod's library but right clicking does not bring up the option to delet. I have downloaded the latest update for the ipod but this has not solved the issue. Can anyone suggest a remedy? thanks

In order to delete or add individual songs from and to your iPod, you'll need to enable 'manual mode' on the device. This will allow you to add and remove exactly the content you desire.

Until recently, when entering an addressee into the "To" field on an e-mail, you would get a predictive list of addresses that start with the first 2 letters.
Now I'm getting a long list of the addressee I'm after, plus combinations of other addresses that have been cc'd previously into e-mails going to that person.
This is pretty confusing, and quite risky!! It's easy to click on an addressee by mistake, and inadvertantly copy someone else into the e-mail by mistake.
Is there any way to switch this off?Mail > Window > Previous Recipients

Having mail 4.5 issues- open mail and get a new features message that says in order to use the new features, I must import existing messages into the new version first in order to use mail 4.5. Just recently put in MAC OSX 10.6.7. Once it imports I am to click done to start using mail, but end up with the rainbow wheel of death and it also says you cannot use mail until the import is finished? Now What?
Is Mail still "spinning"? If it's been doing that for a while, I'd kill it, using either Activity Monitor or the OS X application picker. Then relaunch Mail and see what happens.
Two "by the ways":
1) Your system details mention an PPC iMac. Since a non-Intel Mac can't run OS X 10.6, you seem to have another Mac. You might want to consider updating your system details.
2) You seem to have been misled by the poor labeling of the message composition fields on this forum into trying to enter your entire post into the "subject" field. In the future, just enter a summary of your post there and the main text into the field below it. -

Would somebody know what could be wrong??Try closing the Mail app completely and see if the email contents show when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then also try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
