I'm unable to install After Effects CS4 without errors!

When I try to start After Effects it get this message
After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was: <5060>

then I get this

I've uninstalled After Effects and did a fresh install. But when I install it I get install done but with errors!
What is going on? I've never had this happen before so I don't know if anyone has experienced this before.
but some background info and what I did before this happend. I installed some fonts from another PC and brought
a project I was working on from another PC to hopefully continue working on my Computer but when I tried to open the file
I ended up with After Effects crashing.

Hello, i am unable to install after effects premiere pro and photoshop 64x from the cs5 suite, i think these are all 64bit programs right? I am running windows 7 64bit so i have no idea what the problem could be, anyone who has some advice?

Unable to open After Effects CS4 Mac OS

I just downloaded some updates via Adobe updater and the After Effects update wouldn't install after 2 attempts. Now After Effects won't even open. I am issued a window that reads:
"check with the developer to make sure Adobe After Effects CS4 works with this version of Mac OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and MAC OS X."
How can this be if nothing has been changed? I have the CS4 Master Suite and I am going to waste a whole day reinstalling everything
Is there another option or will I have to begin the reinstall?

I am running version 10.6.6 and yes the software was working fine before the update. The thing that's most puzzling is the update failed to install. All the other Adobe programmes (Photoshop etc) work fine, After Effects is the only one experiencing problems.
I contacted technical support and they said to copy the file from the installation disc onto desktop and boot from there but that has not worked either. They are going to contact me tomorrow to see if everything went smoothly.
I will give the cleaner a try.

I am unable to install After Effects CC to the specified location

My C drive is full, so I've moved PS, PP, and Media Encoder to my D drive. I went into my CC desktop app preferences and changed the install location. Now I'm trying to install After Effects, but it's still trying to install to the C drive, which is almost full, so I'm getting an insufficient space error. When will this issue be fixed?

Even if you have changed the install location, the product will be downloaded and get extracted from temp folder which is located in C. So that you need to have to space in C.
If it is not possible to make free space on C drive, then you may download the products directly from below link and install it on D drive.

After effects cs4 "distiller error"

I recently bought and installed adobe creative master collection cs4. My computer isn't the best...but i made it meet the minumum requirement nessecary to run the programs.
Anyway,more to the point.
Every program seems to work apart from adobe after effects, i was looking forward to using that one.
When i open it, i have to minimise all other windows, or it won't load, all i hear is the good old MS "beep error sound".
about 1/10 times it will come up with an error, i don't remember exactly but something along the lines of this.
"another instance is being used in distiller. this instance will not continue".
Any Ideas, it's probably something simple i know
P.S-I installed all the updates nessecary, at 1st it was running, but i made a few clicks and it closed itself, now it refuses to run, i have uninstalled and re-installed it. it gets to installing the media core and stops.

Another app (some older Adobe software, presumably) is having a hold on your shared PDF libraries or the Adobe font system, which AE also needs to deal with vector files or legacy PostScript fonts. The quick, but unelegant solution is to terminate those programs/ services (Acrobat quick starter for instance) by killing their process in task manager, the long-term solution would be to straighten out that mess and get a handle on which program does what. After Effects CS4 Rendering Error

Every time I try to render a small loop I get the error message of :After Effects Error: Creating file "comp1.mov"- Access denied (-5000) (3::3)
can any body help me out here?

What version of AE are you using and on what OS ?
Basically AE cannot write your file because it's already been used by another program. It could be locked by Quicktime, or maybe locked by your antivirus, or Time machine, or Even AE if the file is opened in your project.
It also can be locked because of file/folder permission (even if you are an administrator on Vista for exemple, your software cannot write file to some places without running them in Administrator mode, by rightclicking on them and selecting "run as admin").
Try to close any application that could be using your file, and try to export your file to another directory with another filename.

And since the relevant error states something with system policy, this is either a compatibility issue with UAC or other security stuff e.g. on Win 7, a third-party security tool blocking access or on the other hand mundane permissions/ user privileges issues becvause you are not running as admin or have limited your user in another way... Also looking at the Adobe installer logs might reveal more details. They are in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers...

After effects cs4 render error/problem

I started rendering my video.After 1:30 minutes after i started rendering, the video changed intro something looking like a TV without signal, and stayed like that till the end of the video.Something like in this photo

I don't think you understood me. When you get the color bars there is missing footage in your comp. Try scrubbing through your timeline to the place where the color bars appear in your render. You should see the same thing in the comp window. Find the layer that is giving you the color bar image, right click and select find in Project, then right click the footage and use the replace footage option to find the footage.
If that does not fix your problem please give us a screenshot with the CTI at the point in your render where the color bars appear and reveal all properties of the problematic layer.
I just looked up the codec you are using. It's a highly compressed 3rd party codec and that alone could be causing your problem. There are lots of users of that codec that have problems. If you do not have missing footage in your project then Transcode the original screen capture footage to a suitable production quality codec and replace the footage in your AE project with a standard digital intermediate codec. Jpeg compressed Quicktime is probably one of the most versatile and dependable DI codec.

After Effects CS4 & Wacom Showstopper bug.

Hi! For more than one year I've being feeling that my machine was the slowest machine on Earth, so I spent a good deal of money on a new HP Z800 with a Quadro FX 5800 and 24GB of RAM with windows 7 64 and a set of SSD raid that gives me over 700MB per second, after install After Effects CS4 and try it, was awesome, such a good response and super fast, but.... after finish installing all the rest, AE was slow like on my previous 4 years old machine..... so something was wrong. To make the story short, was the Wacom driver, if I turn it off, all goes back to normal, turn it on and all goes slow, so far I was able to reproduce it on 7 machines, Win XP, Win XP 64, Vista 64, and Win 7 64, the all show the same problem, and all the machines are different. And the problem can be reproduced very easily. I've made a video showing how to reproduce it. This problem render the Wacom with AE as a non viable option for anyone. I've noticed this since about 12 months ago, but never thought is was a hardware / driver problem. Just thought AE was excruciatingly slow.

I'm using the trial of CS6 Production Premium, and After Effects CS6 has a terrible problem with the Wacom. After a video preview with audio or even just an audio preview, the Wacom will become very slow, almost like the computer is under insane processor load, but my CPU monitors don't seem to be doing much. I have a 24-core Dual-Xeon PC with 48GB memory and I am trying to make use of the multi-processor capability (it would be criminal if I couldn't use it).
The Wacom becomes slow with AFX and occasionally unresponsive. It makes it impossbile to work with AFX. I refuse to use a mouse, so that's out of the question. Also, this software should work with a Wacom like everything else does. I don't have this issue in any other program.
I've set AFX to use either 20 or 16 processors with .75GB memory per core. Seems this should work ok but the Wacom is being pummeled into submission, and that's a really bad problem if I can't even move my cursor. Makes me want to close down AFX ASAP, so I hope to find a fix.
I am using the latest Wacom driver and the trial for this software is only days old, so this problems should have been fixed by now according to this thread. I'm not too motivated to spend $1800 for this suite if I can't even use AFX with a Wacom, which is the main reason I'm after the Production Suite.
If I can't get this working I will probably just buy Vegas, even though Vegas is a big old crash monkey. No Wacom problems at all though.
Any ideas?
Also, anyone notice funny cursor behavior when typing in this forum? It seems to jump around on its own and this doesn't happen to me anywhere else. Could be a residual effect of the Wacom weirdness. This fields don't seem to like 'Shift+Enter' either.

After Effects CS4 error

I installed after effects CS4 on the school pc, it works fine until I login into student user login and when i open up after effects it comes up with this error.
"Adobe effects error:finding preferences folder - no such directory (-120)"
I search in google and i still can't find any solution for this issue, please help.

Ask your system administrator. It's perfectly possible to use a different location for your local user account data by modifying those settings with the group policy editor or by manually changing the paths in the registry. However, these things still need to be persistent, so just pointing it to your server-based profile or whatever you may be using will not be sufficient. Indeed either the specific directory must be explicitly set to have full permissions by decoupling iot from the inheritance rules of the global permissions or, again by ways of the group policy editor, your user group outfitted with the respective permissions. Of course the simplest option would be to instate yourself as a Power User, so you have default permission to view system directories and may modify files.

We recently purchased Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Premium and are unable to install after effects.

After Effects CS5.5 does not come with Design Premium CS5.5. You need to have either Production Premium CS5.5 or Master Collection CS5.5

"Unable to create font" error when starting After Effects CS4 (Windows Vista)

Hi all
I have read a hundred posts about the "unable to create font" message that appears when running After Effects in both CS4 and CS5 versions.
On MAC, it seems that installing the Verdana fonts family is enough.
On my PC running Windows Vista, i tried unsuccessfully :
- uninstalled and reinstalled After Effects
- installed all the fonts of the Adobe Font Folio v11
- looked for the "AdobeFnt.lst" to delete it, found no such file in my whole hard drive
- changed my system language to English (USA)
Other CS4 softwares work.
What can i do?
