I'm unable to make in game purchases while in games
When I go into Clash of clans or any game and try and make a purchase it always says your purchase couldn't be completed then says cannot connect to iTunes

My first thought is that you might have In-App purchases restrictions turned on. The first article tells you how to turn the restriction on, the difference is that at step 4, turn it on instead of off.

If the problem is not the restrictions, it may be an iTunes Store connection issue, you can use the following to troubleshoot this.

You will need to login on the device using the same exact Apple ID that was used to download the app. You can not use abother account login to buy in app purchases to prevent fraud.
If you keep getting this warning, you are not logged into the original account. -

Unable to make in app purchases
I have seen many posts about being unable to make in app purchases but they all seem to be about being unable to access iTunes or purchaces don't go through etc but I have not seen my issue. When I go to in app purchases it shows the available purchases but the links are not active. there is no "buy" button etc. It shows the purchase price but when i try to buy there is no response. It is like a dead link. Any thoughts? Anyone else experiencing this. It seems to be for any app that has in app purchases. I've tried on both my iPhone 4s and iPad mini. I've tried logging out and then back in with iTunes and Ive tried turning the devices off and then back on. Same result. Ive uninstalled and re installed the app (which is Agricola, although no in app purchases from any app work) And In App purchases are enabled.
thanks for your reply, unfortunately the problem is not due to restrictions being enabled. It doesn't seem to matter if I am on my iPhone, iPad or computer. It doesn't work on my husbands phone either, so that leaves me to believe it is not an issue with devices, but with the store. My next step will to be to get in touch with Apple.

I contacted support 2 days ago, got confirmation of my enquiry but so far no solution.Last night I reset my iPod and was able to purchase in-App add ons for all but Hotspot VPN. I think Hotspot may be my problem?

I just updated my credit card details under my account. And I tried to make in game item purchase, but they are asking me to "please contact iTunes support to complete this transaction".
May I know how do I overcome this message? My country iTune hotline is closed for the day.

I have an app on my hpone i like to play called "knights and dragons" the game allows players to make in app purchases to help make there character stronger, i put in my card info and it sends me back "unable to complete purchase" im just trying to understand why i cant make purchases if i have all the necessary specs.

Why whenever I try to upgrade to the full paid version of a game, from the free trial, am I not able to make I in-app purchases- it says I need permission to do this? How do I get permission? I have a iPhone 4S

LucyI am also getting error msg saying "unable to connect to iTunes". What I have tried are:
1) reset my iTunes password - did not work
2) logout and log back in - did not work
3) delete app and reinstall - did not work
4) sign out and then try to buy in app forcing me to relog into iTunes - did not work
5) enabled and then disable restrictions in settings - did not work
the apps in questions are "Hero Academy" and "Tiny Farm" to name just 2 apps. I have randomly downloaded a new app which works and I can download any app from iTunes store... so i downloaded "Monster Life" and when I tried to buy in app purchases, IT WORKS.
Basically, I am thinking that all apps prior to today which I have bought I cannot make any in-app purchases, but apps downloaded from today, I am able to make in app purchases...
This is WACKED !!!!
I have emailed iTunes support and no reply yet.
Anyone have any solutions or work arounds, please let me know.

I changed my payment info in my apple id and was unable to complete in app purchases for pharohs way slots game. I then changed my payment info back to the original details, and am still unable to purchase credits for the app. How do I fix this problem? Pleeease help!

Cannot make in-app purchases in any games but can make music and book purchases.
We don't work for Apple, and are just iTunes users like yourself.. The best thing I can advise, is to contact apple directly.

I am devasted with this, anyone else facing this issues, i have 2 apple ids and i have tried working and downloading the game with both ids and both ids have balance and i even tried changing the game centre as well. nothing helped.
I am having the same problem. There are 3 different apps that I have tried to make an "in app" purchase on. One of the apps tells me "Cannot connect to itunes". We know that this is not true as I have connected to it immediately before and after trying to make this purchase. The other 2 purchase that I have tried to make just don't do anything when click the "Buy now" icon.
I do not use restrictions. I have also tried the solutions above. This problem started on my last phone, the original iphone4 with ios4 and has persisted after an upgrade to the 4S with ios5.
I can't believe that we are the only 2 people with this problem.
