I'm unable to redownload my purchased music

I'm unable to redownload my purchased music.  Purchased music in the store shows downloaded not the cloud and it's not on my machine.  I accidentally trashed it and emptied the trash.  I use OSX Lion

If you deleted the files from the Finder, and not from in iTunes then you need to also delete the tracks from iTunes. After doing so the tracks in the purchase history will be downloadable.

Yes, a search would have found the instructions.

  • New iPod will not redownload already purchased music

I have had to get a new iPod due to accidental damage on my last one.  The new one has successfully downloaded all my apps, but music is not downloading.  I can see all the previously purchased music on my iPod via purchased section on iTunes, i press the cloud/download button but my iPod is displaying 'unable to download at this time'.   I get the option to press done or retry, but neither of these do anything.  What causes this problem?  What else can try to get it all my music to download?

That message would indicate an Apple problem. I would just wait.

  • I've been unable to retrieve my purchased music.

None of my music albums show up in my purchases.

If you mean that they don't show in the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page for redownloading, then whether music shows there depends upon what country that you are in - music can't be redownloaded in all countries.

  • Unable to listen to purchased music

I recently bought the 2nd gen iPod Touch and bought an album at the Apple Store(last week)... Everything went ok till today... If you are running a version of iTunes older than iTunes 6.0.4, the first thing to do is update to 6.0.4. Choose About iTunes from the Help menu in iTunes. If you are already at 6.0.4, or if updating does not help, the next thing to try is to deauthorize your computer for the iTMS account using the Deauthorize Computer option in the Help menu. Then play of the iTMS songs and re-enter your authorization info.

  • How can I redownload recently purchased music that was removed from my mac mini through my itunes account?

I recently transfered all my music to an external hard drive and then deleted it and emptied the trash.  Most of the musi was transfered successfully but recent purchases did not make it and have been deleted.  When I go into itunes i can see the list of purchsed music, but since it's unable to be located I get the ! sign.  All forums tell me to go to the itunes store and go to pruchases under the quick link bar, but I don't see a quick link bar.  PLEASE HELP!  I am able to download the music onto my iphone and ipad just fine, why cant it be that easy on my new mac mini!  I am so frustrated!

  • Unable to load/play purchased music in iTunes

I upgraded to iTunes 7, everything is working great. Today I purchased some songs. They successfully downloaded, and I was able to upload them onto my iPod, where they play just fine. Unfortunately iTunes will NOT play them. The summary tab of "get info" does not contain any of the itunes specific information (purchased by, fairplay version, purchase date, account name, etc...)
I have deauthorized and reauthorized the computer, did not help. When I try to add the file to the iTunes library it fails without giving an error.
Any help would be greatly appriecated!

I'm having this same issue - unable to play any music that I have downloaded from ITMS. I'm asked to authorize my computer, which I do.. I'm told that my computer has been successfully authorized. But when I try to play any song, I'm asked again to authorize my computer - and the cycle starts all over again.
I have yet to see a post with any sort of attempt at resolving this issue, but I know a lot of people are having it. I emailed tech support, and (surprise, surprise) never heard back.

  • Unable to download newly purchased music

The last two albums I have purchased on iTunes have refused to download. I keep getting errors stating that the song is unable to download at this time. I have tried rebooting, resetting network settings and a full restore( which is annoying in itself)
This is starting to get extremely frustrating. Being an iPhone owner for 5 years now I have experienced just about every problem you can think of but this one has got me considering other products. Apple prides itself on ease of use but nothing lately has been easy to use. Please help.

I have a brand new 4S and it gives me that same message (unable to download at this time" with new purchases and old ones I synced up from an old phone.  Did you guys figure it out yet?  Thanks.

  • HT201269 I am unable to download previously purchased music through iTunes to my new phone. What gives?

I tried re-purchasing the album, and it gives me the option in the music player, but iTunes has the same album grayed out. Getting really frustrated here!

    Hey innerev2003,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
If, while searching through your past purchases, items are unavailable to download and show a "Purchased" button, they are still on your computer. It may be best to search your iTunes library by clicking Music, then use the search bar at the top right.
If you are completely sure the items are no longer in your library, try signing out of the iTunes Store, and then back in.

  • Redownloading previously purchased music

On my previous computer I bought several songs on iTunes, but I can't seem to download them again. I'm logged unto the exact same account that I originally bought the songs with, and they appear on the billing list aswell, but I can't download them :/
I searched around the internet for some time to find an answer, and was told I'd find it under the 'Purchased' tab on iTunes Store front page... but my music isn't there! It only shows purchased Apps, and purchased Books (though I haven't bought any books). Even the music I bought  jsut 15 minutes ago isn't there...
Am I looking at the wrong 'purchased tab' or something? Any help is appreciated!

The Denmark store currently offers repeat downloads for Apps & Books only. Hopefully that will change in due course.

  • HT204053 unable to downloand previous purchased music on my iphone

I am unable to download my previous purchased songs from Itunes to my Iphone. The only time I can view my purchases from my libray is through my wireless.  When I disconnect my library the songs on my phone are no longer available.  My cloud services are activiated.

Are you logged into the iTunes store on your computer with same account you bought the songs under (eg: on computer access iTunes store, do you see your account info up top in the right?)
If you are logged in, have you tried the Transfer Purchased Content from the File menu?

  • New laptop unable to play purchased music

I have recently upgraded my laptop to a macbook and have transferred all my files etc across.
When I came to sync my ipod it said it was unable to sync my purchased music as this computer is not authorised to play it. How to I change my settings to allow my previously purchased music on my new laptop?

Have you authorised the new MacBook yet and do the songs play in iTunes? If you have got it authorised and it's not transferring songs then try deauthorising it and then authorise it over again: About iTunes Music Store Authorisation and Deauthorisation

  • Upgraded to v7.0.1.8 and can no longer play or download purchased music

I upgraded my software from a later version of v6 (6.9, I think). Since then, I have been unable to access my purchased music. I had purchased the music with a previous email address, which I updated using the site instructions. My account in iTunes is the same as always, my number of authorized computers the same, this computer is authorized. However, when I try to play a purchased song, I get a warning that I cannot play it because my computer is not authorized. The login popup comes up with my old account information. I did try using that, but of course, as that account now exists under the new email address, it is not a valid id. I use the new email address and login and am told that I am now authorized. When I click the song again, I get the same thing. I've authorized myself to play this song (and several others, to see if I got a different result) at least 10 times now and it still won't play. All that happens is that I am taken through the authorization process over and over.
Additionally, I have purchased three albums that will not download. I get an error -50 and am beginning to believe that they are related to this authorization nightmare. Please explain what I can do to fix this.

It gets even better... thought I'd add another audible book to my iPod so I could continue on the series I'm listening to. As soon as syncronization started, all my content on the iPod started disappearing. At first, I didn't figure out what was happening. By the time I did, I only had 4GB left of the 35GB that had been on the iPod. Now, I'm really irritated with you and your half baked software!!!!!
I've dropped back to v7.0.0.70, and everything is working again. It's 2am and if I were billing you time, I'd be making out very well now. Whatever happened to software quality assurance? There is an obvious breakdown in the newest iteration of iTunes. My current 'fix' is to drop back to a previous version until you all get a working 'current' version...but that's not really a fix. Please let me know if you have a real solution or not.
