I'm unable to transfer iTunes Playlist to Sonos system.

I am unable to transfer an iTunes Playlist to my new SONOS system. The SONOS website gives instructions, but they don't work. Anybody having a similar issue?
Thanks,

I wonder if I would loose my data (i.e., can't restore the data into my new phone), if I follow the uninstalling & re-installing steps.
Uninstalling & Re-installing iTunes will not delete your iTunes Library Data.
Do the following:
Uninstall from Windows the following four programs: iTunes, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour and Apple Application Support. You do this from an applet in Control Panel called Programs & Features (in Windows 8, 7, or Vista) or Add or Remove Programs (in Windows XP).
Download the latest version of iTunes from Apple and note the location you're saving it to so you can find it once it's done.
Run the iTunes installation as an administrator, just Right click iTunes installer and Run as Administrator.

  • How do i play iTunes playlists on sonos system

I have a Sonos system.I have copied the itunes folder on the NAS drive so that I can play my itunes music via the sonos system, this works fine. However how do I get my playlists to play? Sonos manual and support tell me to copy the itunes music libary.xml file to the to the shared drive (NAS) where the music is stored. This I have done but still cannot play the playlists. Help. If I do get a reply can you make it simple with regard to computer speak. Thanks

Hi guys, I asked Sonos this very question and they came back with this:
    Hello,
Thank you for contacting Sonos Support. For Sonos to work, just 1 of our components need to be wired to your router/network. The other components will work wireless with the 1 wired component. Please make sure you have an Apple Express with at least 2 ethernet ports, because the Apple Express with one 1 port is incompatible.

  • I am unable to transfer my playlist to my Ipod in the new version of Itunes.

Since downloading the new Itunes I am unable to transfer my playlist to my Ipod.
I have tried dragging individual tracks but it will not let me load anything.
The symbol for my Ipod is no longer in the left column of my screen but at the top right hand corner.
    Can you help please.

I also found that my previously paired 1st Gen Apple TV did not show up at all in itunes, after updating to version 11.
I basically resolved this by re-pairing it.
There may be less drastic steps that can be taken? But I found removing and then re-adding the pairing did the trick.
A bit arduous I suppose... effectively a minor reset of sorts... but my resolution steps were:
    1) Removing the itunes sync account (at top) from the Settings->Computers screen on the 1st Gen Apple TV.
This took a while, and some faith, as it then removed all synched content from the Apple TV, which took several minutes... and I wasn't convinced I'd be able to then restore the sync.
    2) After that process completed, I then clicked the option to add (re-add) the itunes sync account, on the Apple TV, noted the new code, went back to itunes (11.0.5), found the now unpaired Apple TV (that was now showing up again) in the left hand "Devices" list, and clicked "Setup", and then entered the new pairing code.
This let me set up synching again (although I sync the majority of my library content, in fact I set it up with the "Custom Sync" option) ...and so far, so good. It is now synching my purchases from the Apple TV into itunes, and vice versa, as it was before.
Hope this info helps someone else with a 1st Gen Apple TV...

  • HT1727 how do i transfer itunes playlists on my mac to a thumb drive to use in my car       e in my car?

How do i transfer itunes playlists and/or individual songs onto a thumb drive on my apple desktop computer -- I want to play the songs in my car which requires the thumb drive.  thanks

Easily done.  Insert the flash drive into your computer, and open it so it looks like a folder.  In iTunes, highlight the tracks you want (or use CTRL+A to highlight an entire list at once) and drag them into that open folder.
If you normally run iTunes in full-screen mode, make it smaller so that you can do the drag.
The only complication may be the format.  Many iTunes users use AAC format, which is rejected by many car players.  If that is an issue, you can first use iTunes to convert the songs to the more convenient MP3 format, by this guide:

  • How do I transfer iTunes playlists from external HD to PC?

I have have a referbished Dell computer with Windows 7 that I have downloaded iTunes 10 64 bit to. I have a library and playlists from a previous computer stored on an external drive configered to my previous PC. Seeing as my library is too extensive to hold on the computer, I have made a link in the iTunes-Edit- Peferences-Advanced to the external drive and dragged the library to the iTunes window. Now I am wanting to transfer my extensive playlists to iTunes. How do I that?

    Hi flyview,
If you are looking to transfer your playlists in iTunes, you may find the following article helpful, in particular this portion:
    Transferring playlists
If you want not only your content but also your playlists to exist on your new computer, you will want to transfer a copy of all your playlists from your old computer. To do this, choose File > Library > Export Library on your old computer. Save the XML file that is created to your desktop.
Send the playlists file to yourself as an e-mail attachment, use an external drive, or use file sharing to move the playlists file to your new computer. Once the file is on your new computer, open iTunes and choose File > Library> Import Playlist.

  • HT1386 Unable to transfer iTunes file/folder on my iPod (Classic) to my new computer.

I am trying to transfer my iTunes music to a new Windows computer from my iPod (Classic) but I am unable to see my iTunes file/folder on my iPod when connected to my new computer.

I managed to recover my music from my iPod Classic (formatted F00, F01, F02, etc......F49), but I am unable to get iTunes to recognize any of it. It keeps defaulting to a previous old iTunes library and trying to locate those songs.
How can I get it to recognizewhat I would like to be my new!!! iTunes library (off my iPod)?

  • How do you transfer iTunes/playlists from PC to Mac?

I have a PC and my iTunes library has 15,000ish MP3's and over 100 playlists.  Even though my iTunes is located on my PC, the music is stored on an external hard drive.  Im thinking of buying a Macbook.  Ive spent hours upon hours preparing playlists over the years and need to know if you can transfer iTunes and the playlists?  I wont make them all over and it will be a deal breaker for buying a Mac if I have to make these playlists all over.  Last year someone at Apple store said they could do it for like $70. Really?  Im gonna pay $2500 for a Mac and you waanna charge me $70 more?  No Way!  Please help.
    Thanks

You can transfer by copying the entire iTunes folder and all the files and folders it contains to the other computer.  If you have an empty library on the new computer you can just copy the moved folder over the empty one and start iTunes.  Alternatively, put it in another location and start iTunes with the option key held down and point it to the new library location.
A problem you may incur is your external drive.  If it is formatted NTFS for use with PC you may find your Mac can read files on it but not write files to it.  THe best solutiuon will be to reformat it for use with a Mac but this will entail erasing all files in the process so you will need to store them elsewhere when reformatting.  You will need to name the newly formatted drive with the exact same name as the old drive.  If you didn't format it to NTFS but used FAT32 formatting, that will work with a Mac too, but most PCs will format to NTFS.

  • How do you Transfer Itunes Playlists from Mac to Mac?

I know this question has been asked on here before, but it doesn't seem as though it has been answered. I recently bought a new MacBook and am trying to transfer my playlists in Itunes from my Imac to the new laptop. I have no problem transferring the library of songs, but I cannot seem to figure out how to transfer the playlists. Anyone know how?
    Thanks.

    Kay--
Thank you for your response. Now do the computers have to be hooked up via a firewire cable to do this? and does one have to be in Target mode? Sorry for what are probably simple and stupid questions.
    Thanks,

  • Transfer itunes playlist from pc to mac

I recently purchased a macbook pro and need to transfer my playlists from my pc to my mac. I have already transfered my library but my playlists were extensively long. Home sharing will not work as I am often on the road and without an internet connection. What is the easiest way to do this? Thank you for the help!

I've done this successfully PC-to-PC, so I'll give you instructions for that. Fingers crossed, they'll be enough of a guide for a PC-to-Mac move too.
First on the PC, find your "iTunes Music Library.xml" file. See the following document for instructions on where to find it (note that it's the .xml file you're looking for):
iTunes: What are the iTunes library files?
Transfer a copy of that file across to the Mac. (Via email or thumb drive, etc.)
Launch iTunes on the Mac and import the iTunes Music Library.xml file from the PC. To do that on iTunes for Windows, you go "File > Library > Import Playlist" as per the following screenshot:
Browse to the location of the iTunes Music Library.xml file from the other PC, select it and then open it. (Fingers crossed, the import procedure should be pretty similar on the Mac.)

  • How do i transfer itunes playlists from one computer to another?

My old PC with Windows XP and iTunes died for good. Luckily library and playlists were save on and external hard drive shortly before. My newer Dell vostro 1520 laptop has Windows 7 and wish to instal my playlists from my external hard drive into a new iTunes 11.1.5.5. The library is too large to hold on the computer so must remain on my external drive and I've made the link in preferences. The iTunes I was using when I saved it was an older version (if there is a way to find out from the files I haven't found it). I wish to know how to transfer my extensive number of playlists, folders, and track allotment and order from my external drive to my Dell. I could experiment with moving the playlist folder but I have the knack for screwing up my system and that I would like to avoid.

Here are typical layouts for the iTunes folders:
Since things are already broken it might be best to create this layout first then use FindTracks to repair things. Ideally you would have a complete clone of the library on a second drive as a backup. You would have the library folder at the root of the drive and the media folder inside it. Connect to the library by shift-starting iTunes. If everything is in the normal layout iTunes may be able to heal itself if you attempt to get info and locate a missing file when prompted. Otherwise you would direct the script to start its search from ..\iTunes\iTunes Media.

    Hi,
How do I properly open iTunes now with my library on th external drive. When I open iTunes it seems unable to open Music/ podcasts and audiobooks now?
iTunes is still looking for the iTunes Folder that you deleted. Just open iTunes and then select iTunes at the top menu bar, then select Preferences. When the Preference windows opens, select Advance, select General and you will see the old location listed. Now click the Change Button and from the popup window, navigate to the New iTunes Library Folder Location on the external drive and select it. Then click the Open button and the new path to the iTunes Library should now be set. Click the OK button to close the Preferences window and If iTunes doesn't open them, just quit & reopen iTunes.
    That should doit.
