I've heard that it will also cancel your current contract. That isn't such a huge deal unless your current contract is an unlimited one--you can never get it back.
Does anyone know for sure? I've asked AT&T and received a "Yes it will cancel your current contract." and "No, it is a new contract--you keep your old contract if you wish." I suspect it is the former but it would be good to know for sure before ordering the service.

Happy to report that iTunes Match has returned to working like normal on iTunes 10.7 on my computer today. If any iTunes engineers read this thread, I really appreciate the fix.

Can I use Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended on my brand new iMac? I had PS on my old Mac using the student licensing.

About four years ago, I purchased Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended while I was in undergrad. I downloaded it to my Mac. Since then, I've purchased a brand new iMac. Can I use this same software? I know it's been four years so the software is very updated, AND my new iMac does NOT have a cd drive. This may all be in vain. I'm just clueless! Thanks!

When you buy Photoshop, you are buying it for a single version, in a single language, on a single platform. If CS4 were still the current version, you could exchange your Windows version for a Mac version. But we no longer sell CS4. Adobe Drive software doesn't store images; it enables integration of a DAM system with Creative Suite and now Creative Cloud desktop apps.
Adobe Drive 3 is the first version of the software to support integration with Adobe's DAM. This version was designed to work with CS5 and CS5.5 apps.
We do not have a version of Drive that supports integration with CQ 5.4 DAM and CS4 apps.

(Photoshop CS2) It crashes every time I use my brush tool for a long time. Help?

I have recently been having some trouble with my photoshop cs2 (it isn't my computer because it is easily quicker them the majority of computer I have been on and it's only a recent problem). I can use all my tools very easily without having any little pauses and it wont crash, but with my brush tool, after using the brush for a long stroke without unclicking it crashes. Well, it pauses for 2 mins- 4 hours (wont let me click on another tool or carry on drawing or select layers and such). Since I am an artist and work on photoshop for a living , not being able to use the brush tool is a huge problem for me. I have no intension of updating my software to cs3/4/5, (as I don't want to pay for all that software and then find that it crashes again). I recently got my new bamboo graphics tablet and it is even slower when using that. This is also a very recent problem so I was wondering if anyone else had had this before and found a way around it?

I actually believe there are updates for Photoshop itself, not through Mac Software Update. You should check if there are any updates for the product on this website. Photoshop also tends to glitch sometimes. For example, on PSCS4 for Mac, after opening the program, and changing the toolbar to the traditional 2-column style, the quck mask button is totally cut off unless I switch it to the 2-column style twice.

Does "Adobe Send" replace "Adobe Send Now" and if so, is there a charge for it? I was never charged for using Adobe Send Now. I cannot get Adobe Send to work for me; I can upload the file from my computer but when I click the box to send a "personalized link" a message box drops down asking me to upgrade. When I say no thanks, the message disappears but the box click does nothing. Do I have to subscribe to Adobe Send and pay a monthly fee for it before I can use it? How to install english language adobe Photoshop CS4 for Mac OSX 10.7.5 ?

The option is not available in the language preferences (attached screenshot)
I could only find an update for Mac OSX 10.4, but not 10.7?

Languages are serial number specific. You cannot change them on the fly. If your serial number supports it, you would have to install it in English. anything beyond that is a hack like stripping the localization files from the app package...

I'm new to this site and my computer has Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1.
After I installed Photoshop CS4 trial, it failed to install Photoshop, but the rest were successful. I went to get more information and this is the message:

I have been using Adobe Photoshop CS4 for a few months now without any problems or errors.
But last week.. i had a virus problem and decided to do a Clean Installation of my Operating System.
I was not too worried because I have done this millions of times already... and know the process like the back of my hand.
Well.. after the clean installation was complete, i started to load my applications.
To my surprise.. Adobe Photoshop CS4 would not install. Nor would Adobe Illustrator CS4.
It would get to the screen "Adobe is beginig the installation process" and would stall ..
At first... i thought it would eventually complete on it's own.. but after a few attempts and hours of the same screen with no progress.. it was obvious Adobe was no longer responding at that stage.
I searched high and low, night and day, over a few days trying to figure out the problem.
I was trouble-shooting everything.
In the middle of trouble-shooting, i took a break to surf the Net and see if i could find any suggestions when i ran into this Forum.
Someone mentioned disabling your Internet Security & Windows Defender.. and i thought.. no way.. it can't be that easy.
Well.. what do you know.. it was my Internet Security (Kaspersky Internet Security 2010)
After disabling Kaspersky Internet Security 2010, Adobe flew right pass the part where it was stalling, and finished installation without incident.
Adobe Illustrator CS4 also installed without any problems ...
I just wanted to share my experience as i know how frustrating it can be when software refuses to install.

I had a similar problem when i extracted the contents of my Adobe DVD and made an ISO file out of it so i would no longer need the DVD for installation.
But what i realized is that.. Adobe will not install if it's installed from the ISO.. and during installation.. an error would pop up.. and ask for the DVD
You probably have done something similar.
Here's what i did to fix:
- Extract the contents of Adobe Photoshop CS4 into a Folder
- and install from that ..
After i extracted the contents and installed from "setup.exe" .. the installation completed without error ..
DVD
- If you're having problems from the DVD .. then try to extract the Contents of the DVD on to your Desktop..
and install from there ..
Trial Installer
- As for the Trial you are referring to .. im not familiar with it ..
but try to extract the contents of it to your Desktop .. and go from there ..

Adobe Photoshop cs4 freezes at "Preparing to Install..." on Mac OS X 10.6

I am trying to install Adobe Photoshop CS4 for the first time (it's not an upgrade) from the trying versión of adobe.com on Mac OS X 10.6 (all the latest updates are installed). The Mac install is also pretty fresh, although I have installed a few things. The CS4 install starts and I get a "Preparing to Install..." message. But, that's it. It's stuck there indefinitely.
I have disable my antivirus software, tried to use AdobeSupportAdvisor (but it doesn't seem to be able to determine that an install has been attempted), and been working through everything on

While I understand you may have valid reasons for using it, I still have to ask, why on earth are you running antivirus on OSX? I know there are a few people here who love trying to convince the rest of the world that there actually is such a thing as a Mac virus, and that the threat is very real that unprotected Macs could be vulnerable, but I've been using OS X since 10.0 (early in 2002) and I've never seen or been affected by a virus on any of seven Macs I've owned.
I've tested McAfee (Virex), Norton, and Trend Micro products for Mac only to find that they are either cumbersome and bothersome to the point that they ruin the user experience of a truly user friendly OS, or they interfered with things I was trying to do or needed to do with other software.
The end result is that I do not use antivirus of any kind on my Mac and to date I've yet to have a single problem because of that choice.
I'd wager a good guess that the root of your problems is some background process of your antivirus trying to san the installer or stop the installation altogether because the installer is newer than a virus database file, which most companies don't make a serious priority of updating for Mac since they know as well as most of us that there aren't any Mac viruses out there just waiting to destroy an OS that isn't Windows.

Can't Activate ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS4 UPG

I have been using Photoshop ever since version 7 (having switched over from Corel's software, used previously for about 10 years) and had success with it.
I upgraded to ADOBE CREATIVE SUITE when it became available through the Adobe upgrade option and used that with equal pleasure.
In 2010 I upgraded to ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS4, again by means of an upgrade version with no trouble.
I have switched to a newer, faster computer last week, but I have been unable to re-install my Photoshop CS4 on my new computer because I am not able to activate the program.
When I tried to install the program it refused to activate based on the serial number of my Creative Suite, stating that it was not a valid serial number for this product.
I have successfully installed this product in the past, more than once, using that same CS serial number with no problem arising until now.
I am requesting your assistance to get back to being able to use ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS4, which after all I did purchase in good faith.
I am now retired and living on a fixed income which does not allow me the flexibility to purchase replacement software indiscriminately and I really need your help to solve this problem.
Please advise me of a solution or a workaround so that I can still use my software.

it's not clear in your post, but it appears you may own a stand-alone ps version (cs4) and some creative suite version.
if your ps cs4 is part of a suite, you need to use the suite installation files and suite serial number. if your ps cs4 is a stand-alone, you need to use the stand-alone ps cs4 installation files and stand-alone serial number.

Using Adobe Photoshop CS5 Manual???

When I purchased Adobe Photoshop CS4 I was able to purchase separately from Adobe "Using Adobe Photoshop CS4" which was a 688 page instruction manuual. I tried ordering one for CS5 at Adobe store, but they said they didn't have one and offered me "Classroom in a Book". I am not looking for "Classroom in a Book" which is more of a training book, but a user manual/instruction book which I can use for reference when I have a question. I am aware of the PDF help guide, but I am looking for a paper book. Any thoughts on where I may find this book for CS5? Is it possible Adobe is no longer offering this type of manual?

I'm glad I could help you, and your friends!
But do search on your hard drive, there is an adobe help application that loads the content from the web, lets you load different help files, shows the PDF links, but also lets you show the comments.
I'm currently in process of adding a lot of relevant info in the help files, and will also update the FAQs of this very forum, those resources indeed deserve more visibility.
Another reason that the help file is on the web is that its content gets updated every now and then. So, do check regularly!
To easily find the help files: Adobe.com > help > select your product, then click the Help link (usually the third one)
