    Depends
If you need a cellphone then No.
If he wants more than $1 then No.
I would suggest that you buy an iPod Touch from Apple.

  • The wireless keyboard doesn't have a page down key. How do you program a keyboard shortcut for Page Down?

My new wireless keyboard doesn't have a page down key. Very customer-hostile, at least in Office Apps. The list of available keyboard shortcuts doesn't inclue Page Down. Anyone know how to program a keyboard shortcut for Page Down?

Figured it out: fn + down arrow

  • Using Bootcamp Windows 7, my wireless internet stays connected most of the time, but occasionally says "no internet access", then reconnects after a period of time. How can I keep a stable connection?

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate on Bootcamp. I've installed all Windows software, with all the drivers, and my wireless internet works fine. But, every once in awhile, it will say, "no internet access", and I'm unable to do anything until it restores. Like I've said, all the drivers have been installed, and they're both copied onto my desktop, and on a flash drive.
I need to keep a stable connection, because I only use my Windows partition for gaming, and when I get disconnected from the internet, I get booted from the game. Any advice?

what version of bootcamp you use to install all of the driver ?? is it the problem was from the beginning you installed windows or just now ?? or maybe you can try usb wifi to test the windows is not the problem..

  • MacBook using BootCamp - Windows XP Bootup shows display in Portrait Mode

  • Confused: Keyboard doesn't have batteries, warning "batteries low replace them" now numeric pad won't work!

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/apple-keyboard-aluminum/3142351.p?id=1218379768576&s kuId=3142351
I KNOW THIS IS THE WRONG AREA FOR THIS QUESTION, SINCE ITS NOT ABOUT MAGIC MOUSE OR TRACKPAD, BUT THERE IS NO OTHER COMMUNITY EVEN CLOSE TO DISCUSSING KEYBOARDS - CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE?
I have the Apple wired keyboard with attached numbers keypad. For appx a week I have had my mac popup and warn me "keyboard batteries are low, replace them". I just laugh and thought how weird since I do not have anywhere to replace batteries on this keyboard. I have flipped it over and I see no battery compartments. See link.
Well today I wake up to discover my numeric keypad does not work, as in when I press numbers nothing happens at times and every once in awhile I can get a number to work. But everything else works incl the numbers above letters (at the top, left of numeric keypad).
This # is on the back of the keyboard: CC2402209WKDPQVAT
I am at a loss, how do you make it think you have "replaced batteries"? And why would the numeric keypad stop working correctly?
I DESPERATELY need the keypad thats why I purchased it so any thoughts or suggestions?

I do have the wireless, but it is packed in a box, in the garage. That is great bluetooth reach if it is.
So I need to mention, I run our auto glass company on my mac, but have parallels for software/windows compatibility issues. When I disconnected from the bluetooth wireless listed one, I could no longer type from this keyboard. I also clicked on Parallels and chose keyboard/numpad in settings. When I did I could type away all functions working on the keyboard. HOWEVER, now on my mac side, nadda! Numbers, letters, return, etc nothing worked. I then unplugged keyboards usb from back of mac and shut off mac and then turned it back on. Still didn't work, so I reconnected from that list, and now it works on both mac and parallels...and now it is back to low batteries!
How do I get my mac to recognize I have this non wireless keyboard? I have looked all thru keyboard in preferences and I don't see how.
Again, thank you for your replies and suggestions!!

  • When using bootcamp windows 8 without the bootcamp drivers everything is messed up?

Their is no wifi and their is lack of tracpad and keyboard support we need win8 drivers I try to instal the drivers that are for win7 and I get crashes had to reinstal windows many times. Using Parallels or VM no problems.

There are no Boot Camp drivers. Apple does not yet support Win8. Revert to Win7 or use VM software for now.

  • Using Bootcamp: Windows 7 won't launch, goes to black screen.

    21.5-inch, Mid-2010 iMac, running OSX Mountain Lion, v. 10.8.2
I currently have Bootcamp running Windows 7, for some windows specific programs. Last night, while using windows, I was prompted to install some updates. One of which required a system restart. Upon restarting (holding alt/option to select the Windows partition), I wound up stuck on a black screen, with only the cursor (and a "working" icon off and on) after seeing the initial Windows logo.
It would seem, to me, that the issue lies within the update requiring restart. However, now that it's stuck on this point, I'm not sure how to proceed, other than removing Windows 7 and basically recreating the partition, but I'm hoping there's a better way to do this than starting over entirely.
I'm considering changing my boot camp launch settings to launch directly to Windows, to see if that will allow the update process to complete properly.
    I'll post with an update.

Boot from Windows 7 DVD next time.
Monitor hardware fans, temps, RAM, hard drives.
    Install InputRemapper
    Run memtest
    update the gpu driver
make sure to have large enough disk space
Check points for restores are very helpful
what do you run ? games? Office?
Assumption is you installed Apple (Boot Camp) drivers 3.04-3.3
No reason to and a reinstall is unlikely to help.
Also, use Malwarebytes plus a good AV suite, MS Security Essentials is free and pretty solid (but still needs MB from what I have seen).

  • Magic mouse lagging or unresponsive when using bootcamp windows 7 on Mac Mini but works fine in Mac OSX 10.8.4

I updated the Apple Broadcam built-in bluetooth radio software through Windows and it found an update. Updated Boot Camp software/drivers to version 5.0.33, the latest which includes a wireless mouse piece.  Replaced the batteries again and turn it off/on several times. In the Bluetooth menu, this mouse usually does not show up in connected devices or will not show up as a device that can be added.  Once it did show up right after turning it off/on but took forever to connect then lost its connection right away and couldn't be discovered again.
I don't think drivers are the issue, seems to be some kind of conflict with wireless adapter & bluetooth maybe.
I found this which looked promising but no luck:  http://kemal.co/index.php/2012/09/laggy-magic-mouse-boot-camp-windows/
    Any ideas?

  • When using multiple displays, is it possible to only have full screen zoom (universal access) only effect one display?

I am visually impaired which makes it difficult for me to use computers. The zoom feature in Mac OS is extremly useful to me and is the first reason I choose mac over windows. Although, now that I've been using a mac for 8 years, I would pick a mac any day! For my work flow, I utilize two displays. It would help me greatly if there was a way to only effect one display with the zoom feature.
    Thank you for your input,
    Zachary

    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11488
You can set the zoom to ONLY follow your mouse (And adjust the size of the "zoom window" that follows it). I used to use this with Quick time Editing when I had a 13" iMac.

Not sure what could have happened here. The errors appear to go back until several months so i dont know if they are the cause of this. I know group policy is responsible for getting the certs installed. I have configured autoenrollment in the user and computer

  • I can't open emails. Neither can I start a new email. It seems as though the keyboard doesn't access these functions, or maybe other functions such as cut and paste. Why?

See header. This mac pro is very new (a couple months). Although I use Apple Mail on my iPad as well as a desktop iMAC and iPhone, I can't seem to get it to work on this MacPro. I've been through the various setup features -- can't figure it out.

Also you are wanting text messages. Thus another party or multiple parties have a right to voice their opinion as to whether you can have them
Finally the most records VZW keeps of messages is between 3-10 days tops.

  • New Non-Apple keyboard doesn't have Eject key.

I wear out Mac keyboards fast, so I got a non-Apple Mac keyboard, but it lacks a drive-open/eject key. Is there any way to program an F-key or a combination to open the drive door?

    Hi-
Go to System/ Library /CoreServices /Menu Extras. Inside that folder, find and double-click on the file called Eject.menu.
Now, look in your Menu bar, and you should be the proud owner of an Eject icon, which, when clicked, ejects the optical drive (closes it too)!

  • If I open a second window in Safari it doesn't have the home page icon nor does it have the back and forward arrows. Why not?

How do I get a second Safari page with the home page icon and back and to arrowsl?

Move to the desktop or rename the com.apple.Safari.plist
    Found in your User/Library/Preferences/
Finder>Go>Go to Folder (copy and paste:)
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
Quit and restart the browser.  The default plist will be rebuilt. See if this sorts your problem.
If no you can always put back the original plist, no harm done.

  • Can I use FaceTime to call someone who doesn't have an iPad?

My daughter and I are trying to connect through FaceTime. I have an iPad 2 with wi-fi and 3G. She does not have an iPad nor iPhone. She has a Blackberry smartphone. I've tried calling her via her cell phone number AND her email address. A message comes up telling me she is unavailable when I know she's sitting in front of her laptop waiting for me to call. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Oh well, that answered my question. Gosh darn....Bummer. I was hoping to be able to see my two small grandchildren. Are you familiar with Skype? I hope it's okay to ask this here. Is there ANY way that we can connect? I remember when I had a laptop with the camera built-in, as my daughter does, that we could connect and see each other. Can I get any help with this question? As always, I thank you for your help.
