Hi, When i visit you tube I have great difficulty typing in a subject + when i click on a tile to view the footage it does not appear in the main viewing screen!!! the bigger screen is blank as if the footage had not loaded on to it. If i hover the cursor over the tile i do see the footage BUT only in the very small thumbnail screen. However if i use microsoft's Internet explorer i have no problems what so ever, please help.

OK, let's try again. Wind is NOT a supported carrier. In order to use tethering, it must be supported and activated by your carrier for the iPhone. This usually involves an additional fee. You will have to ask your carrier if they can enable it. Odds are, since they are not a supported carrier, they can not. If you want to use tethering, you will most likely have to switch to a supported carrier that offers this feature on the iPhone.

What is the exact name of the application you're trying to launch? Is it in the Applications folder?

Disputing a claim with you tube via using imovie jingle

Just got a message again from you tube re a jingle from imovie. The email came from noreply so went onto the copyright part of their site and you have options to dispute the claim. I chose the I have permission to use the content etc. I also included the section 2C with the pdf link. Was that the right option?

It might take a couple of weeks, but in the meantime, your video is still posted.

Using an external drive for OS, problems with install

My iMac, 1.8 GHz, OS 10.5.8, PPC's internal hard drive is failing. Rather than replace the internal drive, I had hoped to use an external USB drive to run the OS.
When using the OS 10.5.x install, I am repeatedly told the OS cannot be installed onto my external drive.
I cannot narrow down the isse.
Is it because it is a USB drive?
Is it the format of the drive? It is currently formatted as "Mac OS X Extended Journaled."
Is it indicative of some other problem with the computer?

You need an external Firewire drive to boot a PowerPC Mac computer.
I recommend you do a google search on any external harddrive you are looking at.
I bought a low cost external drive enclosure. When I started having trouble with it, I did a google search and found a lot of complaints about the drive enclosure. I ended up buying a new drive enclosure. On my second go around, I decided to buy a drive enclosure with a good history of working with Macs. The chip set seems to be the key ingredient. Check Browser Compatibilty Problem with CS5.5

I am having problems with the Check Browser Compatibilty function, it seems to pick up the issues in an HTML file but ignores errors in CSS files.
I have run the check on CS4 and it work fine.
Example of the File

I would expect it to give me a warning about ' an unsupported value', as shown below:
               Unsupported value: 'transparent'

This is the warning I get from Dreamweaver CS4.

I can send email but not receive on my iphone 3GS. Emails to my .me address are OK but not emails to the address hosted by Network Solutions. NS have checked my settings twice. I am using IMAP. Is this a problem with iCloud?

I use IMAP email hosted by Network Solutions for my main email address. I can send and receive this OK in my Mac Mail on my MAC book and also on webmail. However my iphone doesn't receive these emails but it can send. I have checked settings on my iphone twice with Network Solutions but no luck. Emails addressed to my .me address are received OK. I have a suspicion this problem started when I signed up to icloud.
my ISP is BTconnect

Useful suggestions. In fact I had already deleted and re-entered the account details a few days ago without apparent success. The error message was along the lines of "cannot access the server".
Anyway about an hour after your message, my emails started coming through after a 6 month gap! - makes me think someone at Network Solutions monitors these discussions.

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

Is their a compatibility problem with iMovie 5.0.2 and QT 7.1.3?

Since purchasing my G5 over a year ago, I have not been able to use iMovie. The video corrupted when I upgraded the QT just as I was finishing a 2-hr travel video. Tech support was unable to help me so I just gave up. It's now nine months later and I really want to solve this problem. Video turns jerky when I add audio. Some of the discussions about jerky video in 2006 imply a compatibility issue. Is there a compatibility issue? I need to start someplace. Thanks for your help.

Here's the follow up:
I took a chance and installed MAC OS X 10.4.9 COMBO and QT 7.1.6 update, installed FCS 2 suite and my old TRV 340 still works perfectly.
I erased livetype included with FCE HD as suggested by apple tech note, and the installing process worked like a charm.
I keep my version of FCE HD 3.5.1 and original soundtrack . Both applications work well side by side with FCP 6.

I guess that came out a little wrong last time I sent one it was a 13" i5MBP, with shipping, taxes and import it was 78 pounds cheaper than in the UK, 3 pounds for an adaptor for the power supply made it a round 75 pounds, it took 8 days and was in perfect condition so .. you pays yer money and you makes yer choice.

CPU used higher than it should be - problem with EM?

last week i came into work to find that the EM agent couldn't connect and that the database was down. The database wasn't down as none of my users were complaining and i could do everything apart from look at the home page of EM. It was a problem with the sysman account password, which i changed and updated the emmoms.properties & target.xml file and EM was fine. Since then the CPU usage has been running constantly at 30-40%, whereas before this it ran below 10%. ADDM shows that queries like:
