I'm using iPhoto '09 on my macbook, and it's just working slow - lots of pinwheels and lagging. My library is big - (134.71 GB to be exact). What can I do to make my iPhoto run smoother??

How are you trying? Have you tried alternatives? A Card Reader? Different USB Cable? When did you last reformat the camera card? -

First confirm that you can create a PDF file of your book as described in this Apple document: iPhoto '11: Preview a book, card, or calendar before you order or print it. Post back with the results.
OT -
I'm now using iPhoto '11 (9.3.2), and none of the photos in my library will enlarge. I can view them all as thumbprints, but when I click to enlarge just a black, blank space shows up. Occasionally, one will enlarge for a second, then disappear. Help!
Just to clarify, I am not getting an "!" mark in a triangle, as I read others have experienced. The screen is just blank except the grey flag in lefthand corner to flag the photo.

I use aol mail on pcs, MacBooks and the original iPad. All good. No issues for many years. I recently got an iPad third generation with AT&T lte service. Now much of my wife's email displays as garbage when i use the att service. Genius bar guys could not help. They guessed that the garbage being displayed might be HTML code. We all suspect that there might be some problem with the relationship among aol, AT&T (lte) and Apple, but no one knows where or how. My mail servers are set up the same on the old iPad and the new iPad (IMAP and SMTP). Bottom line is: I got the new iPad, and it does not work for my most important app. Wireless works fine.
Any suggestions? The genius bar guys started a trouble ticket.
Many people must be having this problem.I must be part of the "No one" that still uses AOL mail. I still use it (two AOL accounts in fact) and have used it pretty much without issue for years and years.
I have never had an issue with AOL mail on my iPad. I wish that I could say the same for my business Microsoft Exchange account that users swear by. Of the five email accounts that I have, the Exchange account is by far the most unreliable and issue ridden email account that I have.
Even my two Comcast email accounts work far better than my buggy Exchange account. -
I downloaded Acrobat Pro XI on my MacBook and it's not working. There's a message: Click reopen to open the application again. This report will be sento to Apple automatically. I did it several times and even restarted my laptop. Nothing happened. Any hints?

to use it via cc, uninstall your current trial.

I am using Numbers app for the ipad and it has been working absolutely fine but now, when I want to email a spreadsheet as a PDF via the 'share and print' option, the file now doesn't appear as an attachment to the recipient. Any ideas please?

Restoring your iPod to factory settings is the best way to try and get it back to working order. You can use the instructions below to restore it:
How to restore iPod
Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
Click Restore.
If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
During stage two of the restore process, the iPod displays an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remain connected to the computer or iPod power adapter during this stage.
Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.

Ive just upgraded my late 2009 macbook, and things are not working properly. First of all, when I started the computer first time after installing Mountain Lion, some message advised me that some files were impossible to install. Once I wrote my password, and for now on, everytime I start the session, another window advise me that "Java SE 6" is missing, due that, the computer can't run some "CS5Service Manager". If I try to install it, the download ends with an error. If finally, you skip the istallation, you arrive to the dock, but the menu bar at the top of the screen doesn't show up.
In addition, my trackpad doesn't works either. I can move the arrow but i can't click anywhere, probably because the option of clicking by touching is disabeled and I can't performance a regular click.
I'll be very glad if someone know what the heck is happening with my computer. Anyway, I'm going to the genius bar next Saturday. Thx!We're sorry.

I just used stellar phoenix mac data recovery and it seemed to work but now my files won't open. Even though they are "jpeg, mov" files, the error message is "could not be opened". The movie's file format isn't recognized. " Any help or are they corrupted?
Sounds to me like the file is probably corrupt. If you had hard drive corruption or damage, that could easily result in recovered files not being fully intact. If you were trying to recover accidentally deleted files, it's possible they might have been partially overwritten before recovering. There are never any guarantees with file recovery.
Without more information on the circumstances that led you to try recovery, it's hard to give advice on what to try from here. You could always try another file recovery tool, like Data Rescue 3. Just be sure you're taking appropriate precautions when doing recovery. See Recovering deleted files. -

You are saying the phone is locked, but then you are saying there is no provider. The two situations cannot peacefully coexist. Contact Apple and they can tell you if the phone is locked and if locked to which provider the phone is locked. People on this board are not Apple employees and cannot get you that information.

Do you have to setup a disk drive connected to a macbook or should it just work straight away when plugged in?
The Finder shouldn't show an empty optical drive. If the disk gets automatically ejected, there may be problems with the drive, or you may be inserting a blank CD or DVD into a drive incapable of burning it.

As I understands it - This has nothing to do with Your iMac - Any Mac would take the same time.
May be OS and support on the Window-PC platform handles this better.
• .avi - is no specific codec (file format) but a container and the codec in this might not be one that iDVD can directly use (encode to .mpeg2 as on DVD disks)
So either it just can't do it - or -
iDVD has to back-encode to an usably codec - THIS IS WHAT I THINK HAS HAPPENED
This back-encoding can take serious time - AND the final result usually is far from Good.
I would
• find out in what codec the .avi file is (I use QuickTime and in this inspector to read what codec .avi contains) (.mov is also a container)
• import it into a program that can transcode to a better codec for iDVD - streamingDV or AIC (I GUESS)
• then use this in iDVD

Just upgraded to a new iMac 5k with OS 10.10. I use Adobe Photoshop CS 5.1 and it won't work! It tells me to install legacy Java SE 6 runtime. Is there a better fix????

In Firefox 23 versions and later the keyword.URL pref is no longer supported and it is no longer possible to specify the search engine for the location bar via the keyword.URL pref.<br />
The search engine that is used on the location bar and on the about:home page is the search engine that is selected in the search Bar on the Navigation Toolbar.<br />
Current Firefox versions do not update the about:home home page until you refresh the page (future versions will do this automatically without a refresh) and that is what happens if you use the Back key.
You can install the Keyword Search extension to specify with search engine to use for the location bar and which search engine to use for the about:home page via the Options/Preferences windows of this extension, accessible via the about:addons page.
