I'm using my airport express so I can control stereo via iPhone/iPad. It's linked to my router wirelessly (via "join network" setting). It works fine for a while, but then airplay ability / icon always disappears.

My airport express is brand new and has latest software.
My router is an Engenius 300N, and is 6 months old.
iPhone is a 5S and has latest software.
I've tried restarting router, resetting Airport, and spoken with apple support.
The only thing that works is turning power to Airport off and on, but this only works for 5 minutes then disappears again.

TS1741 Does anyone have trouble with the Remote app losing contact with the iTunes library after it has been connected and working fine for a while. If I go to the computer and turn off sharing, then turn it back on, it will relocate the library again.

I have just found the problem to be windows firewall on my library PC
I can only presume there has been an update to windows firewall or iTunes
all the relevant programs were on the allowed list
I'm now currently running with firewall turned off on my library PC.
I'll update when i have found the rogue setting.

Restart the computer and immediately hold the Option key down.
Select the Recovery partition and continue.
On the next pane, select Disk Utility and continue.
When DU opens, select your hard drive in the left column, click the First Aid tab, the click Repair Disk.
When that is done, quit DU and restart in the usual way.

Sorry, I updated another thread I was a part of but didn't update my own thread.....ughhh!
I updated all of my ATV 2's and 3's to the latest firmware when it was released and have been problem free since. I do believe the major issue of not being able to connect after a period of inactivity has been corrected with the latest ATV firmware.
I can look at my network connection table using "netstat -an" in a CMD window and I do not see the massive number of connections I saw before the update.

I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. Launch the Terminal app in /Utilities/, run these two commands (copy & paste each one separately and hit the return key):
sudo chflags 0 /volumes/*
sudo chmod a+rx /volumes/*
at the Password: prompt, type in your admin password, carefully since nothing displays on the screen, and hit the return key. These should unlock your drives. You might have to restart.

It maybe worthwhile trying to uninstall and then reinstall the icloud control panel, if the issue is with your outlook.

Aha, all is good.
I went to Library/ColorSync/Profiles/Displays
and to home/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/Displays
and deleted all SyncMaster.icc files. I did leave behind one SyncMaster file in the home/../Displays which had an old date and I new was ok.
Rebooted, plugged in SyncMaster, and a new icc file was automatically created in the /Library/../Displays folder.
My display works normally, now.

Yes, you can. If you use the current AirPort Express, Apple says that you can connect up to 50 devices. Realistically, make that 25-30 or so before the speed really begins to drop.
Remember that you will have to reset the modem though, before you connect it to the AirPort Express as the modem "remembers" the settings for your computer.
