I'm using my iPad with iOS v 6.1.3- is there a security patch for the SSL/TLS vulnerability for this, or do I have to go to 7.0.6?

I'm using my iPad with iOS 6.1.3. Is there a security patch for this version, or do I have to update to iOS 7.0.6?

There is an update for iOS 6... v6.1.6. But it is only available to iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 4th gen users. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6146?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
For iPad, the highest supported os for iOS 6 is v6.1.3. If you want to get the security patch, you'll have to go to iOS 7.0.6.
Hope this answers your question.

  • Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel with authority

    Hello everyone, I need to establish a connection between my HTTPS WCF hosted in Windows Azure Web Role and my Windows Store App Client. The service is actually exposed for testing purposes using a self-signed certificate.
    I have installed the certificate in Personal and Trusted Root Certification Authorities in Current User and Local Manchine.
    In the Windows Store App, I create the service reference pointing to the cloud https service, then edit the manifest and create a new declaration to Add a New Certificate, I checked Exclusive Trust and Auto select, pointing to Root storage name and
    my self-signed certificate.cer.
    The result is the following exception in the IntelliTrace stack:
    Exception:Caught: "The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure." (System.Security.Authentication.AuthenticationException)
    A System.Security.Authentication.AuthenticationException was caught: "The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure."

    Appreciate any help, to solve this with the approach of WCF Service Reference in Windows Store App.
    Note:
    If I call the HTTPS service using a Console App it works very good using the following the code:
    ChannelFactory<IAgentService> factory = new ChannelFactory<IAgentService>("basicHttpBinding_IAgentService");
    ServicePointManager.ServerCertificateValidationCallback = (sender, cert, chain, error) => true;
    IAgentService wcfProxy = factory.CreateChannel();
    Thanks in advance,
    RC

    Maybe not implemented.

    This is the important error: The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure.
    Your SharePoint server certificate is invalid. You have to either correct your certificate or make your SSIS client machine explicitly trust the server certificate.

    Hi everyone,
    A somewhat similar question has been asked before by others but none of the answers given has helped me.I am attempting a DPM 2012 installation, which is failing at the "deploying reports" stage.My analysis of logs seems to point me in the direction of an SSL

    From the error message, this issue seem to related with SSL/TLS connection. So I go back to check configuration and find out a difference to tutorial. Current SCP url is https://server1/_wmcs/certification, but in tutorial it is https://server1:433/_wmcs/certification.
    On my opinion, I don't think it is the real reason.
    So, how can I resolve this error? Could you give me some suggestion? Thanks in advance.

    If it's an Intel Mac, you can upgrade it to Mac OS X 10.6.8.
    If it's a PowerPC Mac, you need to use these instructions and/or iTunes Match to put content on the iPad.

    Your iPhone's iOS must be same or newer than the one in backups. In your case it is older so you need to update your iPhone and then recover it with backup.

  • In the mail app why can't I see single page pdf attachment created by SSRS R2 on iPad with iOS 8?

    We have reports that are generated using Sql Server Reporting Services 2008 R2 and are distributed to users by email as a PDF attachment.  This worked fine in iOS 7 but ever since users have updated to iOS 8 the single page PDF is missing even though it has the paper clip icon indicating there is an attachment with the email.  If the PDF is multiple pages then the PDF icon would appear but there seems to be a problem with the single page pdf that is embedded on the mail app in iOS 8.
    We've recreated this issue creating a test report and sent it to iPads that have iOS 7, iOS 8 using different models of iPads (2, 3, 4) and the ones that have iOS 7 work fine.  Only the ones that have iOS 8 have this issue.  Also tried changing the format of the file to a PNG, TIFF and again the same results on the iPads with iOS 7 display it correctly.  Another test we did was send the PDF to our personal email and open it on our home iPads we were not able to see the single page PDF on iOS 8.  Looking at the headers of the email I can see the that the Content-Type is multipart/mixed.  When the original is forwarded to oneself on the iPad the attachment is included but the Content-Type is application/ms-tnef.

    Can you check your email headers, I have also noticed this for reports that are generated using Sql Server Reporting Services 2008 R2. It could to be due to the Content-ID header I believe.
    As a single page attachment on iPad will try and display inline, the Content_ID header is possibly affecting this and showing a small blank square as the image instead. Although this isn't defined as inline within the Content-Disposition header and will appear as an attachment on Outlook.

    keithfrommariettaOct 12, 2014 3:25 PM Re: IPAD2 very slow after IOS 8 upgrade
    Re: IPAD2 very slow after IOS 8 upgradein response to pacoKAS
    SOLVED:  IOS 8 Issues on iPad 2:
    I just returned home from a visit to the Genius Bar. Like you and many others, when I upgraded my iPad 2 to IOS 8, it became practically unusable. It was VERY slow, lagged whenever trying to to do anything. Lots of screen freezes and apps spontaneously crashing. I was convinced that the processor on the iPad 2 just couldn't handle the new IOS and I went in to see about restoring to IOS 7.
    Thankfully, I was hooked up with a very sharp guy at the bar. The problem is not with the OS, it is with it being an *upgraded* OS. He used the analogy of when you had an older Windows computer and how over time (and over upgrades), they just tended to get slower and slower because of all of the garbage that was carried forward in the upgrades. At those times (and if you've ever had a Windows computer, you get this), the only thing that would speed it up would be to wipe the machine and do a fresh install of the current OS and then reload your apps, and the viola, everything would be fast again. Well, it turns out that IOS can suffer the same problems.
    THE FIX:  FIRST, be sure you have a current iCloud backup of your device.  Connect your iPad to a computer that has a clean fresh copy of IOS 8 on iTunes (this is best done with a computer other than the one that you sync your device to because you DO NOT want to restore it from a back up just yet). Ideally, if you do this at an Apple store you'll be assured of the right version there and someone to answer any questions you might have along the way. You then hold the power and home button down to hard-reset the device and continue to hold them down until it reboots into recovery mode. You then follow the instructions on the computer to reinstall the OS on the device (which wipes everything from it and then reinstalls a clean copy of it). Once this is done (which only takes about 15 minutes), your device will reboot and ask you to set it up. Answer the questions about language, location, etc. and continue until it asks you to log into your iTunes account. Once you do that, it will ask if you want to either 1) Set it up as a new device, 2) Restore from iCloud, or 3) Restore from iTunes. Choose (2), restore from iCloud. This will ensure that it brings down "clean" copies of all of your apps and preferences rather than the potentially corrupted ones that might reside in your iTunes backup. That's it! It will take a few hours depending on how much data and apps you have, but I am happy to report that my iPad 2 is now running IOS 8 and it's running as fast as it ever did when it was brand new!
    To sum it up, this process 1) Wipes your device and the garbage causing your problems, 2) Loads a clean and bug-free version of IOS 8 to your device, and 3) restores your apps and data so that it looks just like it did before the wipe, with the exception that it works now!  :-)
    Note also that by following this process you don't have to go through the painful and laborious process of reloading all of your apps, data and/or settings. iCloud takes care of all of that for you.
