You have to make calls to the GPIB API to do bus commands like FindLstn, etc. The ActiveX control is designed for communicating with GPIB devices, not managing the GPIB bus. There is an example that ships with the NI-488.2 driver for Visual Basic called Query4882 that can show you how to use FindLstn from the driver API.

I have in my pc two resources of GPIB (Ni-Enet and HP-HPIB card) each one has differet VISA name (ie:GPIB0,GPIB1)
means Ni-Enet is GPIB0 and HP-HPIB card is GPIB1.
I tries to use the example Labview<>GPIB to communicate with GPIB1 but it failes
because the address given (string), to the gpib write object is a string and it recognized only the GPIB0 addresses
i tried to use the "visa resource name" control (used in the example Labview<>Serial)
in the Labview<>GPIB example but it failed. ("visa resource name" shows all resources includes GPIB0 nad GPIB1)
tell me pleae how to use the Labview<>GPIB example to communicate with the equipment addresses used in GPIB1

You can't use that example with an Agilent GPIB board. The GPIB functions are only for NI boards and the NI-GPIB driver. You should be able to convert it to VISA but you'll have to replace the GPIB Writwe/Read with VISA Write/Read as well as changing the GPIB Address String to a VISA Resource Name.

I have an AT&T iPhone 5 purchased from an AT&T store - it is a normal phone, no changes, no jailbreaking. I tried using my phone and my girlfriend’s iPhone 5 with the USB auxiliary cable in my 2012 Hyundai Accent. No matter what connector I use (headphone, USB, auxiliary) it doesn't charge or allow me to use the Hyundai’s controls to change music. Music will play through the Bluetooth system, but I cannot control the music unless I physically touch my iPhone. My iPhone 4 has a USB auxiliary cable and works perfectly; it charges and I have full control of my music without having to touch my phone. Nothing works even if I use the adapter that connects the iPhone 4 charger end to the iPhone 5. The picture below shows the iPhone 4 USB cable but it needs to have the (blue) iPhone 5 adapter.
Here’s the best part of this whole situation. I was told by Hyundai Customer Care that there is a specific USB cable available for my iPhone and that I need to contact a dealer. However, two Hyundai dealerships have told me that they do not have a cable, that Apple has not made a cable for the iPhone 5, and that I need to contact Apple directly or order it from an Apple store. It gets better. I contacted an Apple Store and they told me to contact Hyundai. I explained what I wrote above and they put on a call with Apple Customer Care. After 37 minutes on the phone with Apple, they still couldn't give me a satisfactory answer on how to get this cable or if they even had a cable (Case ID 505467409).
So here is the magical question: Is there a working adapter for the iPhone 5 that connect to a 2012 Hyundai Accent? It needs to play music, charge the phone, and work with the car’s controls. Thanks!

The problem is that you're using an uncertified lightning to 30-pin connector (the blue cable). If you purchase the 30-pin to lightning cable (either online, at an Apple store or an authorized dealer) it should work fine.
I have a 2011 Tuscon and tried the lightning to USB cable that came with the phone - no dice. Talked to my local Hyundai dealer and they don't have an eta on the Hyundai lightning cables (I'm sure it's in the works).

Is there a reason no one is using the Prologix GPIB-ETHERNET controller?

I am trying to control several Agilent HP-6033A power supplies and an HP-6681A power supply. I have a Prologix GPIB-Ethernet controller on each. I have done a search on "prologix ethernet" with zero results, however, there are a number of Prologix USB-Ethernet references. Is there a reason no one is using the Prologix GPIB-ETHERNET controller? This is a project I have inherited and I'm trying to troubleshoot some intermittent problems.

My group uses the Prologix GPIB-ETHERNET controller for controlling two Keithley devices in a Visual Studio 2008 .NET application. To achieve a sample rate under 200ms, we have to place one GPIB-ETHERNET on each Keithley device. The device was very easy to program using TCP/IP calls and required no drivers from Prologix.
On our latest application, we switched to the NI ENET-1000 because the Prologix device doesn't have a certificate like the NI ENET-1000 has. Unlike the Prologix, I must install the NI 422 driver and MAX. I can easily control two Keithley devices with one ENET-1000. Next week, I intend to see if I can control 4-5 Keithleys simultaneously in under 100ms.
No matter what the IP address of the computer is versus the Prologix, the Prologix net configuration utility can find the device. If the NI device is not in the same subnet, the computer cannot find it.

I am using the "G Web Server" with Bridgeview 2.1. The problem I am having is that I have to

restart the web server once every 2 to 3 days, or the web pages don't show the vi (images). Any ideas to trouble shoot - I dont know if the problem is related to my workstation hardware or a setting that needs to be tweaked on the G Web Server. we are using the G Web Server with LabVIEW on a WinNT 4 machine. Up to now these works fine. Therefore I would recommend you to choose a more stable OS.
Maybe you can try to programmatically restart the server every 2 days. Within LabVIEW you would do this by running "HTTP Server Control.vi". Unfortunatly all connections will be closed, thus be aware of that!

I have a fairly extensive photo collection (literally in the tens of thousands we have taken over the years, and growing) on my PC that I have access to through BB link/file manager...one picture at a time...with no thumbnails...
Is there any possible way to use the BlackBerry picture app with BlackBerry link folders? All I want is to be able to hook up my Z30 via HDMI to the big screen and have the option for a slideshow from the archive on my PC without having to blindly stab at individual files and folders, and without having to copy whole folders of dozens or hundreds of photos to my phone.

An issue using the COM components supplied with SAP GUI 6.2 or 6.4

We are having an issue using the COM components supplied with SAP GUI 6.2 or 6.4. We used to have SAP 4.6c and now we have 5.0. When we were on 4.6c, we used these COM components to logon and execute RFC calls and we had much success. Now that we are on 5.0, we cant seem to instance any SAP functions that have something to do with SAP Workflow. We have experienced this problem when using VB6 or .NET, but our existing code that always worked is in VB 6.0.
SAP Components used:
o     SAP Logon Control
o     SAP Function Control
o     Librfc32.dll
o     Other supporting C DLLs and/or COM object supplied with the SAP GUI installation.
For example, if we want to call the RFC ARCHIV_CONNECTION_INSERT, this code fails in VB6 when the Set objworkflow = objFuncCtrl.Add(strFunction) line of code executes. Instead of returning an instance of the object ARCHIV_CONNECTION_INSERT function, no object is created. In 6.2, SAP raises no errors, but the object we are trying to create is still Nothing. If we use 6.4, SAP raises an error SAP data type not supported via a message box and then the object is still = Nothing. Interestingly enough, the 6.2 GUI COM controls dont display the error dialog. The message box that is shown comes from the SAP Function COM Object "SAP.Functions" (wdtfuncs.ocx).
Now, what is interesting is if we use the same code to call a standard function or custom function that doesnt have anything to do with SAP Workflow, then the code works fine. Again, all of our code used to work just fine on an SAP 4.6 system.
Here is the code that fails:

I want to use the expression edit control in a VC++ DLL, how?

Good morning,
as mentioned I want to use the expression edit control in my DLL written with VSC++ 2005 MFC. But I ran into some problems:
If I just add the ExpressionEdit control from the toolbar to my dialog then the dialog will not be shown during runtime. As soon as I delete the control the dialog shows up.
In the TS examples is one called 'TCL' (...National Instruments\TestStand 4.1.1\Examples\Tcl\source\EditSubstep). This is programmed in C++ and uses the expression edit control.
The original dll works fine but as soon as I compile the editsubstep with my VS 2005 I get a runtime error (see image).
What do i have to do to be able to use this control?
Has anybody an working example for me?

Issues with using the output redirection character with newer NXOS versions?

Has anyone seen any issues with using the output redirection character with newer NXOS versions?
Am receiving "Error 0x40870004 while copying."
Simply copying a file from bootflash to tftp is ok.
This occurs for both 3CDaemon and Tftpd32 softwares.
Have tried it on multiple switches - same issue.
Any known bugs?

Please check with new version of TFTPD 32 server. The error may be due to older version of TFPT server, the new version available solved this error. Files are getting uploaded with no issues.
1. Download tftpd32b.zip from:
http://tftpd32.jounin.net/tftpd32_download.html
2. Copy the tftpd32b.zip file into an empty directory and extract it.
3. Copy the file you want to transver into the directory containing tftpd32.exe.
4. Run tftpd32.exe from that directory. The "Base Directory" field should show the path to the directory containing the file you want to transfer.
At this point, the tftpserver is ready to begin serving files. As devices request files, the main tftpd32 window will log the requests.

I have to OC4J installed on my machine on different hard disk drives....
I want to be able to run both the server simultaneously..?
is it possible ..it yes then how..?
for that i have changed the port number of one server...
but when i am trying to start the other server with different port number..it says that JVM -Bind already...
Is there any clues...?

In the config directory:
default-web-site.xml: Change the port the HTTP listener listens on
jms.xml: Change the port the JMS service listens on
rmi.xml: Change the port the ORMI listener listens on.
Or, you can add another web-site.xml file, and deploy your applications to 1 server, and bind the web applications to the different web sites. This way you only have to deploy your applications to 1 place.
