You only bought it four months ago, so it's still under warrantly.
Call Applecare or call your nearest Applestore to make an appointment. Tell them your mac has serious technical issues, describe them shortly.

AFAIK, Garageband is part of the iLife 11 suite, so you either need to move all or none of it. And, the SLA mentions specifically that it can only be installed on one Mac at a time - that is for the regularly purchased (or included with the system) disks. If you purchased it at the App store separately, then you should be able to have it on more than one computer. See this SLA excerpt:

A. Single Use. The Apple Software is being licensed to you as a bundle and allows you to install and use one copy of the Apple Software on a single Apple-labeledcomputer at a time. All photos transferred from your computer are stored in the iPhone's Photo Library regardless if you select a single album or folder of photos to be transferred or multiple albums or folders. The photos on the albums or folders of photos include a pointer to the original photos stored in the Photo Library. The photos are not duplicated taking up double the storage space. This way you can view the photos in an album or folder of photos only by selecting the album or folder, or all photos in all albums or folders by selecting Photo Library.
Makes more sense when transferring multiple albums or folders of photos which cannot be changed when transferring only a single album or folder of photos.
The same applies with iTunes and music playlists. A song can't be in a playlist unless it is in the main iTunes library. Placing a song in a playlist does not duplicate the song.

Sorry but I don't completely understand your question or what you are trying to do.
If you purchase a new MBP Today, Jan 3 2012, it should already have OS X Lion 10.7.x installed on it.
Only some left over early 2011 model that stores may have had sitting around would of come with Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Or even if you bought a Reburbished model from Apple it would of still came from them with Lion.
So my questions are.
1) Did you buy this new from a authorized Apple store or reseller?
2) If not new was it purchased from an authorized Apple store or reseller?
3) To my knowledge when trying to do updates to the OS there is no check of purchase date. So what exactly are you doing that asks for a purchase date?
If new then just use the Software Updates in the Apple Logo menu item.
If not new and it originally came with Snow Leopard or Leopard you will have to buy OS X Lion at the Online Apple Store. If that is the case then nyou need to put in the original date the unit was purchased NEW and or manufactured. That way the Online Apple Store can tell if Lion will function on that model properly.

Fortunately, AirPlay does not cost anything as it is a streaming protocol used by Apple. Currently, the AirPort Express and Apple TV are AirPlay-ready. A number of other companies, like JBL, iHome, Denon and Klipsch are also rumored to be working on AirPlay versions of their products.
Your other option would be to get an AirPort Express and connect it to your Onkyo analog or optical digital audio input and stream from iTunes that way. I currently do this with my 10+ year old Harmon Kardon HT receiver.

How can i migrate my software from a macbook pro to a mini server

So i have bought a new Mac Mini Server but now i want to migrate my MacBook Pro User Profile, Data Files and Software to it. yet it would appear that there is no migration agent to use which implies that Apple miss an important part of the Mac experience.
So if any body out there has a solution i would welcome your input. i had thought about using the push option from the MacBook Pro migration Agent but not sure if that would work.

Well OK you can not use the migration assistant because there isn't one for SL Server and it looks that if you want to migrate from a MBP to server as a user you have 2 choices manually move the item you want to an identical user on the server or create the user and bild the software and move the data required.
how ever i have had a result in using the 2nd drive for just SL, when I spoke to the tech at the apple store yesterday he said use a retail copy of OSX SL which wont boot but apply update 10.6.8 combo and the system will then boot and bingo you will have a dual boot machine. "Ho No you Won't" firstly once you run the install from the CD which has to be triggered from Server the machine will reboot after copying the packages to the new drive but does not run them to build the SL system so you have nothing to install the update onto hence doesn't work.
Here's the suprise I had a copy of my MBP on a spare hdd produced by Carbon Copy, so I attached this the a FireWire case to the mini held the alt key down and powered up. much to my suprise the mini booted into the external drive hold my MBP copy of SL. from then on in it was just a case of copying the drive using carbon copy to the 2nd drive on the mini and hey presto reboot and i now have both server and and non server mini in one box.
Sometimes you just get Lucky.

On the iMac: Export the 30 or so pics from iPhoto to a Folder in the Desktop (File -> Export)
Then go to the Pictures Folder and drag the iPhoto Library to the trash.
Next: Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network, Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
Then import the 30 from the folder on the Desktop.

Power unit from older MacBook Pro - using it with newer model

I once had a MacBook Pro, one of the early version, bought somewhere in August 2006. Now I have the power unit that is left from it. I want to use it with my current MacBook Pro which is newer model, but not the one which is currently sold - it is NOT the unibody model, it looks exactly like the previous model, but with better spec, and the notable difference is that on the previous model the green diode near camera had a single hole, and the newer model has lots of tiny miniholes there, which makes it completely invisible unless the diode is lit.
(unfortunately I have no idea how to identify those two models more correctly - model numbers or whatever)
When I compare the power units - the one which I have with my current model, and the one which is left from the previous, the newer is a bit smaller, and the power output markings are a bit differently organised, not totally identical, but they show what I understand is same voltage/amperage.
I'm still a bit cautious about using the power unit from the older model. Did anyone tried it, is it safe?

I have an iPod touch that I often use to manage different events for work. I have been able to sync the events on my calendar from my MacBook Pro to the iPod touch successfully using wifi. What I really need to do though is sync my iPod calendar events to my MacBook Pro calendar. Is this possible? How do I set this up? It would be a huge help if I could transfer the events on my iPod calendar to my computers calendar. I currently have the wifi sync option on and have turned on the sync calendars option in iTunes. One way: if you have a backup of your MBP on an external disk which you could connect to your MBA, or you could establish a connection in between the two Macs, you may want to launch the "Migration Assistant" on the MBA. You'll find it in Applications under Utilities. It guides you through the steps and options.
The other (better) way is re-installing all apps fresh, and best the latest versions and updates to make sure it's all ML compatible. "Purchases" in the App Store are helpful as you simply download and install the latest and greatest again. For MS Word etc you should have the install disks. It's a bit more work but usually worth it.
