Problems watching Adobe tutorial videos

I want to watch the Adobe video tutorials, but I find that the Adobe videos tutorials stutter and pause to such an extent that it is painful and impossible to watch. I don't have this problem with watching other videos on my machine. (From Lynda.com, for example.) It only occurs with Adobe videos. Is there some setting that needs to be changed? Can you help me?

By the way.... In going to the video, in order to give you the link, I
discovered that the videos are playing better now. I don't know whether,
because I tried to watch them before, some of the files are downloaded onto my
hard drive already, or whether the tutorials have been done in a different
way, since the last time I tried. Before I would have rated them on a
"painful to watch" scale of 1-10 as a 9 to 12. I currently rate them as a 3 or
a 4. (Watchable.) In fact, I watched the entire tutorial, and found it
very helpful. (Though I still think that maybe more tweaking of the
encoding might make things even easier. I don't seem to have this problem with
watching the videos from Lynda.com.
Thanks for answering my post!! If you have some suggestions on anything I
can do to my own settings to make these videos play better, please let me
know.

When you upgraded to Lion did you have AppleWorks installed on your mac?
Most of the AW documents can be opened by Pages 09 or Numbers 09 with most of the orginal format in tact. (I do not know if previouse verision will work) just open the AW file with both and see which one works best.
Text Edit will also open most of the AW files as well but will require a lot of work to restore them to their orginal format.
If you have AW Database documents then they are not supported.
These document show up as "exec icons", Kind: Unix Executagle File.
They also will show up as .cwk file if they are small files. I have a couple that were under 1mb that are shown as " Kind: AppleWorks Document" but will not open.
The only option to open AW database is to have AW installed on a mac with a pre-Lion OS to recover the file.

Re-Watch Offline Tutorial Videos

Hello,
Apologies if this is in the wrong section (it might be more application specific). When I open certain applications for the first time I get a tutorial video. In this case, it was iWeb. Now when I open it I do not get this video and can’t figure out how to re-watch it. I know they are available on the website, but I want to be able to access them offline, just on the Mac like when it popped up for the first time.

Thinking isn't knowing. Open /Users/username/Library/Preferences/ and delete any plist file containing iWeb in its name from that folder and any of its subfolders. I suspect that will reset everything to the default state. As for other apps, do the same thing.

In iTunes and on my iPhone6, it shows 2.1 GB of photos, but I deleted all the photos... how do I free up this space? Where are these pics located?

On my iPhone 6 and on iTunes (when I connect it), it shows 2.1 GB of memory space used for photos.
I cannot seem to find a way to see what these are, or how to delete them.
I have deleted all of the photos I can see on my camera roll.
Where would these files be located?
Any help appreciated!!

If you are having an issue with photos not appearing to relinquish the space they take up on your iPad after being deleted, there are a couple of things I would suggest.
First, try just restarting the iPad and check again. Use the procedure in this article -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Test again. If the space is still unreclaimed -
Second, it is likely that these photos are synced with iTunes. Use the procedure in this article -
iPhoto for iOS (iPad): Delete photos from iPhoto
Specifically -
Photos and video clips you synced to your computer using iTunes: Connect your device to your computer and, in iTunes, deselect the photos and video clips you want to remove from your device. Click Apply.

I have just restored data from an external hard drive, but half of my iTunes songs are getting the error "original file cannot be located." Where are these files?

My Windows 7 PC just had to be reformatted, and I have retrieved all of my files from an external hard drive. About half of my iTunes library is working fine, the other half pop up the error statement "original file cannot be located." If they haven't come off my external drive, where are they?

This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

Why does it take at least 3 hours to watch an Apple/iTunes movie, yet Netflix downloads in seconds? Both are accessed through the same AppleTV device?

I have owned my AppleTV for about 6 months, and it didn't take this long initially, what happened? And it cannot be a download setting issue through my Airport since downloads from Netflix takes roughly 30 seconds. Youtube about the same. What is Apple doing? MASSIVE PROBLEMS YET THEY ARE IGNORING THIS ISSUE ON THEIR SITE! IS THIS A FAILED PRODUCT? Should I buy a Roku? I've heard they work much better.

Netflix has variable quality streams - they get worse as internet bandwidth drops. iTunes content is fixed quality/bitrate and enough has to download to enable uninterrupted playback as the end of the film downloads while you watch.

Firefox will not allow me to download/display pdf files - wheres's the glitch

When I click on a pdf file to download it nothing, zero, happens and I have to switch to IE and start all over to get the pdf file - very incomvenient. I use Norton security software which does a few things to me that I don't like but can't find but since it does not interfere with IE I doubt that it's in Norton so must be fire fox. This is a phenomenon that has just arisen in the last few months or so

Reading PDF files is not Firefox, you can read file external to the browser or with a plugin.
The Download Window closes instantly the download finishes or may not even open at all bring it back with Ctrl+J
You are using Foxit Reader instead of Adobe Reader
make sure it is compatible with Firefox 5 if it is running within Firefox, check their site
or install Adobe Reader unfortunately it comes with Adobe Air
whatever that it, and being adobe you have to watch out for
crapware also being install, McAfee Security Scan, Google Chrome, Adobe Air

HT3209 I have paid for and rented films which I cannot find in the itunes files , where are they ?

I have paid for rented films but cannot find them anywhere on my laptop including itunes , I even watched as they were downloading but did not want to watch them at that time so logged out once they were fully downloaded. After logging back in no sign on itunes that I had rented the films . Even if I try to rent the same film Itunes tells me I have already got that film , so where is it ? Help please

Just download and save another file.<br />
Then you can right click that file in the Download Manager and choose "Open Containing Folder".

When I try to download a pdf file in Firefox, I get a blank page with the words "application/pdf Object" appearing in the title bar and no download takes place.

Where are these api's stored in the database for apex?

I don't know if my version of APEX has the apex_util.edit_user API. Can You tell me how I can find it?

Forgive me if I'm reading this wrong here, but I suspect that you have the validation the wrong way round.
Firstly, I am assuming that when you say "validation" you mean the in-built apex validation items, rather than some custom process. If so, validation messages are only triggered upon failure i.e. if you want the validation to check that passwords are exactly 8 characters long, the validation should be: length(:P90_PASSWORD) = 8 This means that passwords which are 0-7 or >8 characters in length will fail the validation and thus trigger the validation failure message.
Remember: the purpose of apex validation is to confirm validity - not find invalidity - and thus should be written accordingly. It's a subtle distinction but important!

iTunes 11 has hidden the sidebar, but you can activate it in View > Show Sidebar, so you can select Tones in the sidebar as you did. Also, at the top right of iTunes you should a button like this:
Press this button and you will be able to access to your tones, too

Migrated files. where are the files?

this was my first time migrating files, it said they would be in a root folder, buuuuuuut i have no idea what that means or where it is. help would be much appreciated.

If you used the Migration Assistant to move your files and hadn't previously created any user accounts on your computer, one set of files should appear when you log in to each of the migrated accounts.
If you used the Migration Assistant and already had accounts on the computer, one or more new user accounts will have been created; choose Log Out from the Apple menu and log in with one of the accounts to find the files. They can then be moved back by placing them in the /Users/Shared/ folder before logging in with a previous account and transferring them over.

Capture tells me to adjust the Audio/Video settings. Where are these settings and what do I set them to.

Set the Easy Setup to AVCHD 1920x1080i 50 or 60 for PAL or NTSC respectively.
Save a Project with these settings assuming your footage is AVCHD.
File>Log and Transfer over USB should do the job.

In my (very) humble opionion, if there are moderators, there aren't enough of them, and they aren't doing much around here. Why isn't there a system to become a BBS moderator much like there is a system to become a TU? Speaking only for myself (who wishes no part in being a TU or a dev), I would love to be a moderator on the forums, but never saw anything about how I would become one or even who to talk to if I was interested.
And yes, this is slightly OT, but I think it's relevent.

Nah. Historically, moderation was done by the devs, but they kind of don't post here much anymore. When I resigned as a dev, I volunteered to stay on as the first moderator, although rasat was already an admin by then, and was also doing moderation tasks. If things seem out of hand here we'd pull a fifth onto the team.
Also, has there been any consideration as to section based moderators (which a lot of larger forums do),
Yeah, we did that for a while, but it tended to be over-organized. A KISS approach works better.
Just some thoughts to toss around next time you have a super-secret-in-a-dingy-bar meeting that no one sees.
Its not meant to be a secret -- we do have a forum that is moderator only. It rarely gets posted to.
