I made an iPhoto book and the file is on my husband's macbook pro. How do I copy that file so I can have it on my iMac?
I recently made an iphoto book on my husbands macbook pro and want to move the file to my imac. How do I copy the file and place it on my imac? Thank you in advance.
You can not. You can only move the entire library. Books do not exist seperate from the database. You can duplicate the library and delete very thing except the book to make it smaller

Thank youSo it seems from reading the COMMAND manual that my first issue is that I used a 16GB SD card, and the manual says it will only recogize up to a 2GB SD card. I did use my MB Air's SD card slot and crated a folder and dragged the music files to it, then to the card. So I am going to get a 2GB card and try that next. Otherwise just stick with the iPOD connected. At least that is 8GB

Hi, my 2 kids who have an account each on my iMac have simultaneously lost their iPhoto apps and libraries. Can't find it anywhere. My iPhoto and library still remains. Any suggestions?
Are you sure that's what happened?
Typically, there is one iphoto on your computer and each account uses that, so there's no iPhoto for each account. So if you have they should too. Where is it missing from?
The disappearing libraries: did they rename their accounts by any chance?

I bought a new MacBook Pro 4 months ago, had some issues with it, brought it to Best Buy Geek Squad and they . Now I would like to sync my iphone 4 with my computer. However, when I go to do that a message appears that says the computers current information will transfer to the iphone. Well there isn't anything on my computer and so I am afraid if I follow through with it my iphone will lose everything. I am mainly concerned about my address book, itunes and pictures. Is there any way for me to transfer from the iphone to the MacBook Pro?
My husband also has an iphone. I'd like to be able to also sync itunes with his phone but not the contacts. Any suggestions?You might want to ask your question in the iPhone forum - https://discussions.apple.com/community/iphone/using_iphone.
While all of us here have MacBook Pros, not everyone (including myself!) have an iPhone.
Then again, some MBP/iPhone user may come along with an answer to your question... but I'd post it in the iPhone forum were I you.

Reason for Macbook Pro super slow download speeds, when all other Apple devices in the house are downloading correctly. I am not attempting to use multiple devices at the same time. What could be the problem with the Macbook Pro?
Resetting SMC could solve the problem.

Just bought a MacBook Pro how do I move my files.
I got the 13" MBP (my first mac) with 160gb hdd
I have my pc with two HDDs totaling aboout 600GB of stuff.
The HDDs are SATA and not usb and they are both ntfs formatted.
How do I move those files over if they are in NTFS format and are sata i really want all my music and movies.You could but that would be fairly slow and cumbersome. My recommendation is to get yourself a good quality Firewire 800 external drive and save your data files there. I would recommend either OWC Mercury Line, Lacie Quadra D2 or G Tech G Drive. This solution would be a little more expensive initially but would prove it's worth in the long term. All of these drives have similar features and are all high quality products.

I was wondering with anyone could help me with the migration system. I just bought a macbook pro online and I will be receiving it by tomorrow; however, I'm not familiar with the migration system, which I was pretending to use in order to transfer my files. Does anyone knows how do I perform it? Also, the drive that I'm migration could be any drive that contains my files, right? Plus, should I start the computer and transfer the files or can I turn in, add my personal information and set up mail account before migrate the system?
I'll appreciate any help.

MI recently performed the migration through the migration assistant going from an iBook G4 to a MBP 2.2. I transferred all my user data except the applications, and it worked flawlessly. Apple sells a firewire cable for $14 to connect the two machines. Took less than 1 hr to transfer ~15 GB of data. I didn't have to type in a single password, and even my preferences carried over. When direct linking, the MacBook will be put in target disk mode. The migration assistant will walk you through the process.
You can run migration assistant after setting up items on the new machine. Just run the program from the Applications -> Utilities folder. -
I wirelessly migrated successfully my pictures and music via Wi-Fi from my PC laptop to my new Macbook Air but I don't now how to access that info. The space was used up on my Mac Air, but can't find music or pictures. Does it have something to do with changing user and if so what do I do when I change it. I think I got that far but got stuck.

You'll need to sign in with the same ID on both computers to download it.
Or you can re-download it on the machine where you installed Mountain Lion (as it's deleted when you install it), and then you can copy it to the other machine and double click it to launch it and install. -

I recently moved all my photos from iphoto to Aperture. I had several iphoto books and cards in my project file. When everything was moved to Aperture I can't find any of the books or card projects. Are they gone or can they be restored?
1 - without specifics I have no idea how to help
2 - the question was "are you trying to use them in iPhoto? " - it sounds like you are - to do so you will have to export them from Aperature and import into iPhoto
3 - for information on how to use them in Aperature then you need to ask about how to use Aperature in the Aperature forum as it does not involve iPhoto
