I may have been hacked. How do I reinstall operating system of my imac 4

I may have been hacked. How do I reinstall operating system of my imac version 10.7.5

Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
  1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
  2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
  3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
  4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.

I have been trying to install window 7 operating system through booth camp assistant, i will finish all the stages for window to complete installation it will hook. the installation cannot be able to complete and i really install windows on it, please i need an assistance on how to go about it.

Right now I have 6 different systems installed. Windows XP, 7, and 8 plus Linux Mint, Commodore, and OS X Snow Leopard (for old times sake), all running on Mountain Lion.
I recommend reading the user manual as it greatly helps getting through the steps, however an intuitive person should pick it up fairly easily.
Thanks to BobTheFisherman for the link.
There are other ways to get Windows on a Mac but I'm a big fan of open-source software.
Give it a try. You might like it or it may not be your cup of tea.

  • My mac osx 10.5  applications have been deleted how do I reinstall them?

Help me! I downloaded a dj software and I deleted it and I think I deleted my applications to open safari and I tunes help!

They cannot be deleted.  They may have been moved.  Use the spotlight search to launch Settings, and then go to General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout.
To get to the spotlight search page, flick your screens to the right until the search screen appears.  (It's the leftmost screen.)

  • How do I get a list of past transactions?  My account may have been hacked.

    Hi,
I just noticed that someone has charged up almost $300 in charges in my iTunes account. This could be my son, or someone may have hacked in. How do I get a listing of what these charges were for?
    Thanks,
    Dan

Did you notify your credit card company/bank and dispute these charges?
Did you remove yoru CC info from the iTunes store?
I leave my CC info blank until I want to make a purchase, I add it, make the purchase then immediately remove it.
The iphone goes on ebay today along with all the apps.
    Why?
Note that the apps cannot be resold.
They are linked directly to the iTunes account they were purchased with.
Note that simply getting rid of th eiPhone will not prevent your son (or whoever) from using the iTnues acount to purchase

  • I have a feeling my personal Apple Laptop computer activities may be  being monitored.  I feel my Apple Laptop may have been hacked into.  I noticed suspicious item in my wastebasket that I did not remove or know what it means ("roaming password..")

I replaced my and my family's electronic phones and computers with Apple products due to their superior security capabilities, and the intgrity of their workforce.  Thus I come to you for help with a serious concern in hopes that you can help me.
Possible Hack into my personal Apple Laptop
I have a feeling my Apple Laptop has been hacked into and is being monitored.  Today I noticed that an old HP printer that we removed from our wireless setup was still connected. In my attempt to remove the old one I noticed that as I was trying to do so it seemed my actions were being shadowed and both of my printer icons (old and new printer) dissapeared. Anyway I looked in the wastebasket and noticed the following item which I had never noticed before: "roaming_password_for_1475_txt_webarchive" in the trash. As it looked suspicious I restored it onto my desktop to open it and research it and it had information on it saying, To remove the DOCOMO interTouch Cable turn on the wireless network conection on your computer....."  It had text giving my username and password for roaming - I could not copy or pirnt the information from my desktop, so I took a copy and video of it via my Apple cell phone.
Possible Hack into my personal Apple Cell Phone:
I have noticed that when I am on phone calls with certain people, my phone will emit a loud long beep.  I am involved with protecting jobs through a union, and am concerned that the county I work for may have had one of their IT people hack into my phone, etc...
Can you please help me with this? PLEASE.

  • I have been hacked, how can I help this from happening again?

On Christmas day I was hacked. My contacts each received a bogus email purporting to be from me. I have now created a new Email address on a different site. How can I clear up the hacked mess? I had all my Emails going into that main one that was hacked.
Is there any way to keep this from happening again? A blocker? A new tab? Anything?
They used a large variety of things from Canadian Rx to Work at home stuff. I could use some help.

Do a malware check with some malware scan programs. You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.

  • My iTouch 4g may have been hacked without my knowledge

About 1-2 weeks ago I brought in my iTouch into work like I normally do and connect to the wireless network. About 30 minutes later I noticed that I was no longer connecting to the wifi. When I went down to my company's IT department, they had stated that they had blocked my MAC address due to suspicious activity. It turns out that it had been trying to send out packets to an IP address of 62.219.7.91 towards the R.I.P.E. Network, which I found out later was Israel. So I took it home, saved my pictures and recorded videos from it, then reformatted it. As of Tuesday of this week I had my MAC address removed from banning from the wifi network. As of this morning, I attempted to log back onto the network but found that I was banned again.
I can't seem to figure out what in the world is causing this. I did a routine scan of malware and viruses last night on my computer that I connect it to and did not find anything that would compromise it. The only thing different than yesterday afternoon when I was not banned from the network was the fact that I downloaded an update to the Weather Channel app. I checked the multi-tasking area (double clicked the home button) and found that it was not running. The only things that I had running at the time was Settings, Twitter, App Store (with one update holding for Pandora) and the default weather app.
My IT department is kinda slow in getting back to me because they have other important things to take care of than my itouch, so I do not know what the logs hold yet. I am pretty sure that it will be the same results.
I have contacted Apple about this and inquired if there is some way for them to scan my itouch for any viruses or malware. Unfortunately the only suggestion that they have is for me to reformat it and load one app at a time and see if my IT department blocks me again.
Unfortunately my IT department has stated that I am on my own on this.
So I guess it comes down to this, is there any recommendations for either a malware scanning program for the itouch or a recommendation on what can detect when my itouch is reaching out to another ip address so i can troubleshoot and disable one app at a time?
I apologize in advance for the long description. I'm really not sure where to go from here. Kind of feel like my security is at stake here in that I'm wondering if the information on my itouch is being sent out (passwords, etc.). I don't want to reformat my itouch every day, but it seems like that is the only solution for this. I'm pretty sure my IT department won't keep adding my MAC address back to the wireless network.
Any and all ideas are welcome. Thank You!

I did after I entered in the last reply. Thanks so much for your help. I ended up using wireshark network analyzer over the weekend and found nothing out of the ordinary except for bonjour services ip address. I pretty much had everything running all day long for the entire weekend. I think that the second time they blocked me they probably changed their mind and decided it was better to just block me without confirming if there really was a problem. Still haven't heard anything back from them. I think I'll never know what in the world happened the first time.
But anyway, thanks again for your help!
PS- still think it would be awesome if Apple had some sort of scanning utility for the ipod products.

  • My iTunes account seems to have been hacked how do I fix this

Someone changed my security questions and my rescue email

If you haven't already done so then you should change your account's password e.g by tapping on it in Settings > Store on your phone and logging into it, via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes or via http://appleid.apple.com
Foryour security questions, if you don't have access to the rescue email address on it then you will need to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset you can then use the steps on this page to change your rescue email address for potential future use : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5620
Or, if it's available in your country, you could change to 2-step verification : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5570

  • I can no longer receive e-mail messages through my @mac/@me account. I can still send e-mail messages, though. I believe there may have been recent attempts to hack into my account. I have changed my password, but wonder how to start receiving mail again?

I can no longer receive e-mail messages through my @mac/@me account, though I still seem to be able to send messages. I believe there may have been recent attempts to hack into my Mail account (my LinkedIn and Facebook accounts were both hacked three days ago and a scam/phishing message sent to my contacts, and I know there was at least an attempt made to hack into one of my e-mail accounts). I have already changed my Apple password, but how do I start receiving mail again?
(And I should also say that I'm a little surprised there was no alert from Apple of suspicious activity on my account, if such was the case. Instead, when I logged into my account via Mobile Me three days ago I noticed that all messages in my inbox were gone as well as all of my contacts. I assume this was related to the current problem.)
    Thanks for all responses.

The problem has been solved with the help of a MobileMe online counsellor. My MobileMe account had in fact been hacked into and the fraudster had been redirecting my e-mail messages to a phony account that he controlled. We took the forward off and reset all my passwords and security questions, which solved the immediate problem.
    Thx.

  • Hi Apple support, my name is Derek Turner and I have been hacked through a friend's email account and I wish to know if 1. I can clean my email list of names and account with software and 2. How is it possible to delete emails that are still coming back

Hi! My name is Derek Turner and I have been hacked through a friend's email message to me which I opened unsuspecting any danger.  Initially, he sent me an 'attention' or warning email with a link which I tried to open but it could not be opened, so I left it not knowing what it was all about at the time.  Later, I received another email from him (probably the hacker) and opened a 'not very pleasant' web site.  It did not twig with me at the time as I am a bit new to this type of thing but when I mentioned it to my wife she immediately said that I had been 'hacked'.  By this time it was too late, and it infected all my email addresses!  I would be grateful if you may know if there is software that I can use to clean up my email account and if there is anything for iPad minis that can prevent this happening in future? (Malware, Firewall?).  I am also getting emails back that relate to the hacker and I cannot 'delete' them from my iPad, only on my PC!  Any suggestions?
Thank you for your time regarding this matter,
Derek Turner,( a very new iPad mini user!)

    Hi,
I don't think that can be solved by any advice the regular posters could post here.
I would go back to Apple and explain the situation (again).
I would also consider closing the account (Apple rarely seem to do this as accounts are never deleted but just closed).
I understand this may cause issues for things purchased in iTunes and the App Store which my include Restoring the OS at some point.

  • My sites have been hacked and hostgator has told me to "Disable javascript - Use the firefox addon noscript" and I don't know how to. Are all updates always sent to me as that was another point made to prevent hackers? Thanks you. David. in English

What are malicious scripts and what causes them? Over the years hackers found it hard to trick people into visiting suspicious sites so they're now targeting legit sites and using them to infect unknowing customers. In most cases an FTP account's password is obtained through key logging malware, then legit website files are modified to distribute the malware and gather more passwords. If your PC has been infected with one of these trojans, your bank account, email accounts, and FTP accounts may no longer be secure. * What to do if you find malicious scripts 1. Use the following online vulnerability scanner and ensure your software is up-to-date: http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/online/?task=load 2. Download antivirus and fully scan your PC for malicious files. Here are some free online scanners: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner http://support.f-secure.com/enu/home/ols.shtml 3. Update all passwords that may have been obtained. Do not use old passwords, generate new ones. 4. Upload older versions of the files or contact support for assistance removing the malicious scripts. * Prevention - Ensure you use the latest browser version - Disable javascript - Use the firefox addon noscript - Download and install some free antivirus software, make sure it stays updated - Use http://www.avg.com.au/index.cfm?section=avg&action=onlinescan to test suspicious links you are given in emails or find online. Thank you.
I also had tried other means of getting answers and got an even more specific answer on just how to do this.  Below is the link to the actual knowledgebase article giving specific instructions since there are some files that need to be on the Palm and some on the card, etc.

I emailed Zondervan to see if they might be able to direct me to a downloadable manual.  The referred me to laridan.com who now supports their software.
I followed the instructions, taking into account some things that were already where they needed to be, hot synced it and it seems to be working fine with 7.8 M free space on my Palm which I trust is enough for my other very large applications.
    Thanks for your help!

In the latest version, I cannot figure out how to view the history of pages so I can easily go back to a page I may have been in 10 clicks ago. I don't want to have to hit the back button 10 times, I want to be able to view a list of the past clicks and pick where I want to go back to. How do I do that now?

Click-hold the unified Back / Forward button, or right-click it to get the Back / Forward history for that tab.
