  • Messed up free icloud account

I blew it. On my latest iPhone upgrade, I got iCloud. When I went to set it up, I messed up the config. First I used an email account that is fine for making purchases but wasn't the account I wanted to use for iCloud. So I deleted it. Then I tried to create a new iCloud ID but mistyped in the email address...twice.  I deleted those iCloud accounts from my iPhone too.
However, now iPhone won't let me create a new free iCloud account because I've used up the three "3 accounts" for my iPhone.
Since I don't actually have active iCloud accounts, how do I clear them so I can start all over from the beginning?

  • Problem with AppleID and iCloud account

    Hi guys,
I hope that you can help me with my problem.
I gave my Apple account to a friend with new iPhone 4s (mine is iPhone5) because he was waiting for his new credit card to make his own. After he got his credit card he made his own Apple ID, but unfortunately mine is a mess now including iCloud account. So basicly the problem is this:
    1) when i try to update or download an App on the store i have to enter my password for my apple ID but it's changed
    2) somehow the verifying email on my iCloud account is not mine e-mail but his and in the verification e-mail it's his name written on top ( Dear Mr. Peter...)
I tried to remake my account and it worked with the exact same email adress and password as the existing, which tells me that the old one was "simply" erased
But now when i try to download app that i previosly had on my device it tries to download it from iCloud which i can't verify. So now i don't have iCloud, if i delete the old one it deletes my contacts (i restore it from an earlier backup but it restores the iCloud account again).
So can i make new iCloud account and somehow keep my contacts and erase the old iCloud account so i can download the apps again.
Thak you in advance and i hope you can understand what my problem is

Your first mistake was letting someone else use your Apple ID. That's like giving out a credit card number and not very smart. I think your best bet is to call Apple and ask for Account Security in order to straighten this out.

  • My icloud account does not sync with my iphone 4s. My contacts do not show up on icloud and I do have "contacts" turned on to backup

My icloud account does not sync with my iphone 4S. My contacts do not turn up on icloud and I do have "contacts" turned on in my phone.

Unchecking them won't help, it will only hide them from view.  The issue you're running into is that iCloud doesn't sync contacts from non-iCloud accounts like your exchange and Yahoo accounts.  In order to sync these with iCloud, you would need to copy them to the iCloud account and then disable contact syncing with these other accounts.  (If you didn't disable contacts syncing with these accounts, you would see duplicates of these contacts on your phone -- one from the external account, and one from iCloud.)  If you want to do this, do the following:
Go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts to Off, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (any iCloud contacts will still be in iCloud).
Download the app My Contacts Backup.  (If you have more than 500 contacts to transfer from your other accounts you will need the “Pro” version.)  Use the app to back up the remaining contacts on your phone (from the other accounts) as a vCard attachment to an email that you send to yourself.  Confirm that you have received the email before proceeding to step 3.
Go to Settings>iCloud and turn Contacts back to On.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section), and confirm that this is set to iCloud.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars…tap your Yahoo and your exchange account and turn off contacts syncing with these accounts.  This will remove the contacts from these accounts from your phone.
Open the My Contacts Backup email and tap the attachment to import the contacts from these accounts back to your phone, and to iCloud.  All your contacts should now be in iCloud and be visible on icloud.com.

  • Will deleting my iCloud account off of my iPhone delete any information and pictures off of my phone?

Having lost my original email password, and Icloud account password, will deleting my iCloud account off of my phone strip images from my photo stream? I am in desperate need of updating my Iphone and have already set up a new icloud account, but am worried that it will take with it's deletion valuable memory stored in my phone. Please help. I want to be rid of the  old account and use my new one, without loosing anything off of my actual phone

You will lose the data stored in the iCloud account - like contacts, reminders, calendars, etc.  Photos will not be erased.  I'd sync to itunes before connecting to the new icloud account to be safe.

  • For the iCloud account, under Advanced it has an old email, how do I change that?

When looking at the iCloud account, the basic account info is correct, but under Advanced it has an old email address, how do I remove/udpate that?

Have you tried tapping on the given Email address, this should lead you to a page that lists other emails (aliases) from which you can choose one.
Or log into icloud.com with a computer browser, go to the mail page, click the cog wheel (upper right), and look at your account settings.

  • Secondary iCloud account on new computer shows at only AIM?

So, years ago, I had a family .mac account (or .me) either way. I had my primary account and a secondary account. Which have been working seemlessly side by side on my old laptop.
I recently got a new Mac Pro, I wanted to start as fresh as I could. I did sign into my primary account and all my other accounts (gmail/AIM etc) seemed to be working fine.
But I just recieved a call asking if I had received an email that went to my secondary account. I had not, so I checked the accounts, and it IS there, but it is setup as an AIM (Messages) account, not an iCloud account (like on my laptop).
When I tried to remove it from Internet Accounts Preference Pane, it wanted to remove it from my laptop too. (Obviously I don't want to do that if I can't get it back with all the emails)
In Mail, it's showing up as an iCloud IMAP, but doesn't have an incoming mail server (just mail.example.com) and I cannot change that (grayed out)
Any thoughts on how to get my secondary account email back?!

It's only a workaround, but you could use the find iPhone app instead of Find Friends when viewing your wife's location.

  • Will deleting my icloud account delete the pictures, contacts, etc. currently in my unsynced iphone?

I want to change the appleid associated with my icloud account so that my wife's and my contacts and calendars aren't shared shared, while leaving a common store account so that our apps and music are shared.
When I start to delete the iclooud account so that i can set up a new one with a different appleid I get the very frightening warning:"If you delete your account all documents stored in icloud will be deleted from this iphone."
Yikes! Definitely don't want to lose all the history and pics on the phone. Do I need to sync and backup before deleting the icloud account?  Or will I lose that data too?  Thanks for any help with this...

You will lose the data stored in the iCloud account - like contacts, reminders, calendars, etc.  Photos will not be erased.  I'd sync to itunes before connecting to the new icloud account to be safe.

  • If I delete my iCloud account and make a new one on my phone will it mess up anything? Will it erase my phone or something like that?

    Help would be majorly appreciated!

If you want to create a new iCloud account and move your date to the new account, start by saving any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password to turn off Find My iDevice and choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted.  Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload your data.  You cannot move an existing iCloud email account to the new iCloud account.  When you turn Mail on in Settings>iCloud, you will be asked to create your new @icloud.com email address.

  • How do I change my iCloud account without messing everything up? I don't want to mess up my moms iPhone which is on the same account.

I want to put my iPad on the same I cloud account as my iPhone but I don't want to mess up my moms phone which is on the iCloud account that I am currently on.
I just want to switch my iPad to my own iCloud account. .

i did this already but i can't remember it also. i know its dumb,
i got like hundreds of emails. so yeah.
    @kiltedTim

  • How can i split up icloud account. its the same for my wife and i but i would like 2 separate accounts. we both have iphone 4

my wife and i both have iphone 4. they were set up with 1 icloud account. we now both have separate apple id's. I would like to set up a different icloud account on my phone with my apple id and password separate from my wife.

Decide which iPhone will be keeping the current iCloud account.  On the one that will be changing accounts, if you have any photos in photo stream that are not in your camera roll or backed up somewhere else save these to your camera roll by opening the photo stream album in the thumbnail view, tapping Edit, then tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share and tap Save to Camera Roll.  If you are syncing Notes with iCloud, you'll also have to email your notes to yourself so they can be recreated in the new account as they cannot be migrated.
Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud.  The phone that will be keeping the account will not be effected by this.)  When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On My iPhone.  Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom).  Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to the new account.
Finally, to un-merge the data you will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the data you don't want (such as deleting your wife's data from your account, and vice versa).

  • I have been using icloud for itunes and aps purchases, but now I would like to create a new icloud account so that my calendars sync without having to plug in ... how do I do this, as my phone won't let me change the icloud account

My husband and I have been using our iCloud account for music and ap purchases only.  I have decided that i would like to now create a new icloud account so that i can sync my calendar and contacts.  I read about doing this online and it looks simple and easy ... and yet, when i go to switch it on my iphone, there is only 1 place for an icloud account (our shared account) and it is greyed out so that I cannot change it.  How do I do this?

Whenever a menu choice is grayed out, that is because you have Restrictions turned on in Settings.  Be sure to turn it off.
You are confusing an itunes store account with an icloud account.  You two can continue using the same ID for itunes (thus sharing purchased music, apps, etc.), but you really should have separate accounts (different IDs) for icloud, since an account is intended for one user to keep his/her devices in sync.
To create a new icloud account, go to
    http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/
Then go to Settings>icloud and scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Delete Account.  (have restrictions turned off)  That will disconnect the device from the account but will not delete data in icloud or other devices.  Then sign in using the new ID.

  • Hi Apple Team, I would like to change the iCloud account on my iPhone, however it says I must 'delete the account' before doing so? Does this mean that I delete the entire existing account, or just delete it from my phone specifically?
