I migrated and now do not have access to my old files.

I used the Migration Assistant and it took about 2 hours for the migration to complete. I had to rename my old account and while I can look in Finder on the new mac and can see the folders, I cannot access them as the folders indicate I don't have permission to access them? If it is a migration, shouldn't it just dump the files into the current applications? I also set it up so i can swap account using the fast swap and such but in this case its not helping much, i'd like to know if there's a way to just unlock those files so i have free access to use them on my new User.

no. it migrates everything into a separate user. to get access to your old files you need to log into the migrated user. your old files are all there in the home directory of that user.

this is a bad idea and will not work well. you should simply consolidate everything in one user account. since you just migrated presumably you have all your data in the migrated account. just use that account for everything instead of the new user you created on the original computer setup.

We might be able to help, but first we need to understand. From your jumbled words, I do not understand (1) what you did to perform the update and (2) what exactly is happening now. I cannot correlate your inability to do things on the device with what you say comes up on your computer.

I understand that you are attempting to reset your Apple ID password. I would try resetting your password via answering the security questions instead of sending the email. Well, welcome to the world of "hacked" phones. If your purchase was from the US, you obviously purchased an iPhone that is locked to a US carrier. The iPhone must have been jailbroken and unlocked via software to accommodate your foreign SIM card. Now that you have updated the phone, it is locked back to the US carrier. Only the carrier can authorize Apple to unlock the iPhone and none of the US carriers will unlock the iPhones. Best suggestion is to sell the phone and obtain a factory unlocked version directly from the Apple store.
To answer your other question, there is not a supported method to downgrade iOS.

The iPhoto library should be in your user folder/Pictures unless it was moved.

I've sorted it
All I needed to do was add my old e-mail address - not as the primary but as an alias. This allowed me to delete the account on my iPhone 4S and re-sign in with the correct e-mail address.

Went to store and the person there tried a number of things. I tried all manners of possible passwords as well.
End game: Just want to have an iCloud account I can use on my iPhone.

Do the following:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

I don't know what the problem is with your corrupt/unopenable document on CD. I wonder if you can display it with QuickLook.
Select the file in Finder and hit the Spacebar. If the file is displayed properly, you can capture it as an image with Grab.app or by Shift-Command-4, > drag capture box.
Not knowing the complexity of your document, it's difficult to say what you should do next. I'd submit the graphics to an OCR application and extract the text, to be used in reconstructing the original document.

You have to place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore via iTunes. For recovery mode:

Since the other computer will not have a your iPod backup, you will have to restore to factory defaults/new iPod. You iPod will be empty of contacts, calender, apps, music and other item you added to the iPOd.

Hi :) but the thing is... I *do* have extensions and add ons that work fine but I do not have the options under TOOLS to to access them as extensions and add ons do not appear when I click on tools. The two items are not listed under tools when I click on it on the top menu. So the ability to disable addons is not available. My FF is broken :(

After using Migration Assistant, I don't have access to open my files

The Migration Assistant made me rename the account from my old computer, MacBook Pro, because it was the same as the one on my new computer, new unibody Macbook. It was my name! So I changed the old account to a variation of my name and then Migration Assistant worked fine. All of my documents, files, pictures, music, etc. is now there but in a folder named (the other name) and it says I don't have permission to open the folder!! If I log out and then back in as that other name, all of my files are there and accessible, but I want them all in one place! Under one login, not two. Please is there an easy way to fix this, because I never would have used this Migration Assistant if I knew it was going to clutter up my new computer with two accounts and cause login issues. Thanks in advance....

System settings should be copied across as they are embedded in the ~/Library folder (and sub-folders) which you would have copied across to the external drive.
Once you have copied all of the data into the preferred account name then you should be able to delete the one you don't want. It will ask you if you want to delete the corresponding <home> folder associated with that account. My advice would be to operate your preferred account for some time until you are convinced that you have gotten all your data the way you want it and then delete the other account only after you are satisfied that all is correct.

So I seem to be having the same problem as a lot of other people - I have updated my apple ID however my iCloud has not followed. When I go to change it, the old email is grayed out. I have clicked delete account, and it needs my password to my old ID to turn off 'Find my Phone'. I cannot change my current account to be linked up to my old email as it is an email I no longer have access too. What can I do? Any help would be greatly appreicated as everytime I go into my emails I am getting bombarded with iCloud account information popups.

You shouldn't need access to your old email account to fix this. Go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change (don't verify the old address). Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Call Apple Care for your country and request that they assist you in resetting the security questions.
To authorize/deauthorize a computer, go to the Store dropdown menu in the iTunes app.
