I miss the file msvcr80.dll

I have had iTunes for a long time. Bought an apple tv and had to open itunes. then I couldn't because it says i miss msvcr80.dll. Where do i find it?
i have tried to install itunes again but it does not work?

First try updating to iTunes 11.1.5.5, using an installer downloaded from the Apple website:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

In the last Apple Itunes update it deleted the file Msvcr80.dll, how do get it back so I can download Itunes again?

Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • I tried upgrading iTunes and it says I'm missing the file AppleVersions.dll .  What do I do?

I recently uninstalled one of those "free trial" music download things, and now my iTunes won't work. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but I keep getting the same message "AppleVersions.dll is missing" What do I do? I've been trying to fix this all week, and I'm about ready to smash my iPod to smithereens.

It worked, now iTunes is running.  If I can ask one more question, my iPod is "attached" to an old laptop that I don't have anymore. Apple tells me there's no way to merge the music on my iPod with the music in my iTunes account.  I no longer have the CDs as I didn't think I'd need them anymore once the songs were on my iPod. Any advice here? I can't believe I'd have to lose all that music.
Apple has to respect the agreement between them and the copyright owners, we users here have to respect Apple and can't recommned software that can potentially be used to infringe copyrights.
So I point you in the direction of iLounge, users there can help you with a third party solution.
If you have the old laptop and can extract the hard drive, use a IDE/SATA to USB adapter or boot the laptop from a Linux disk/USB, the files can be recovered.
I have detailed instructions if your interested I can post them.
And thank you in advance for the points.

  • File MSVCR80.dll

I bought an iPhone 5S but I'm unable to install iTunes because my computer says that the file MSVCR80.dll is missing. I already went to the Microsoft website to try to install this program. It appears that I have now downloaded the program but iTunes still won't work even after I "repaired" it. Any suggestions? Thanks

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:

  • Why do I have a missing file msvcr80.dll all of a sudden?

I just used iTunes the other day and when I tried to open it today there is an error (7) and windows error 126 and a missing file msvcr80.dll.
    What is going on?

The continued connection to the Events allows you to continue editing the project, or to use the Event in another project. As long as you are not editing, you do not have to have the external drive connected (but you will have the yellow triangles).
If you delete the events to reclaim space, I think you are basically left with your finished movie and further editing is not possible. (Although you could import your finished movie as an Event and do edits on that.)
Once the Project is done and shared, and you are absolutely, positively sure that you will never have to edit it further (or you are willing to re-import from your source and start over) then you can delete the event files and recover the space.
That's what I think. I am sure others will jump in to correct anything I got wrong.
I would also say that you might get a better experience by playing your finished movies in iTunes rather than through iMovie. Then there will be no possibility of further editing, but you can view your movie through Quicktime.
