A myspace friend has a map thingy where you can add yourself and it puts you on her map. This map says I'm in Frisco, Texas. I live in Tennessee. I went to a site that reads your IP address and locates it for you, and it verified that my IP is in Texas, not Tennessee. What's up with that? How can I fix that?

My new iPad2 synched OK on initial setup but I didn't really want all the photos in iPhoto transferred so on later synch I tried limiting the sych to certain albums only to find that only a fraction of the albums now on the iPad. I tried synching again.

After that I find only a fraction of the desired albums transferred. I tried synching again without any restrictions but get the same limited number of photos and albums. I think I've seen the solution to this fault somewhere - something to do with deleting the iPhoto cache but can't find it.

Update: I was unsuccessful on my attempt to delete the iPhoto Cache folder because I didn't follow the directions exactly. There seems to be more than one folder with an identical name. Finally succeeded in getting all my photos back on the iPad2.
If one desires to change the selection of photos snc'd, however, it apears that you must change the selecion from the iTunes screen while the iPad is plugged in and the select "Apply". Unfortunate, the sync starts immediately when you plug the iPad in and it doesn't seem to smart to stop the sync. It appears you have to make a change in iTunes while syncing. Let it complete. Detach the iPad. Go back and delete the iPhoto cache ad directed. Then the next time you sync presumably the new sync restrictions will apply. I didn't want to risk stopping the sync that started automatically to change the sync options and then direct it to sync again but that might work. Too bad we don't have more control over the starting of syn when the iPad is attached. Maybe we actually do but I haven't noticed it.

I deleted a breadcrumb but it didn't really get deleted

I have an issue where I deleted a couple of breadcrumbs from the breadcrumb menu but they still show up on my pages. I cannot create a new breadcrumb as the application builder gives me a message saying the page already has a breadcrumb although I cannot see it.
How do I either get my breadcrumb back so I can change it or get rid of it so I can create a new breadcrumb for this page? I am assuming there is an apex internal table which holds this information. Is it possible to use another tool like pl/sql developer to access that table and delete the breadcrumbs for a particular page? I am on version 4.2 and not sure if this is a bug (I am assuming it is). Would upgrading to 4.3 solve this issue? Any help would be appreciated!

I saw an earlier post about this and it is a bug. To see the missing breadcrumbs you have to use the tabular view for the breadcrumb under shared components. The missing breadcrumbs will show up on that report and you can delete them from that view. I was able to do this and to re-create my breadcrumb for the affected pages.

I haven't met that bug along my travels but who knows. Just to be sure, you deleted the breadcrumbs from Application Builder-Shared Components- Breadcrumbs and not just regions containing breadcrumbs, yes?

If so how can I erase all data on the phone so the thief can't access my personal information? is there any other way other than Find my IPhone to wipe off the data on the phone? I really don't want my personal information such as pictures, text messages, notes and social networks profile available to a stranger!!? Help please!!!

You are able to activate an old device and process an insurance claim for your iPhone 4s within 60days from the incident date. Keep in mind if the old phone is not a smartphone and you currently have unlimited data that feature will fall off. If you have a tier data plan no changes will be made. ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

I had to take it to apple care centre but they refused to repair it after confirming the problem with the device as it was out of warranty and asked me to get it replaced for INR 22500. I got it repaired outside but after that also if I switch it off in the same situation it again happens and I have to take it for repair it has happened 3 times after that. Is it a inherent problem in iPhone that it uses battery even when switched off and if in that case battery drain out then refuse to get charged because this is the scenario i have experienced every time?

Apple told you it was unrepairable.... You had it serviced by an unauthorized party. It's now no longer eligible for out of warranty replacement by Apple.
There's really nothing else we can say about it. Find a competent 3rd party repair shop or buy a new one.

I just bought a new Macbook Pro 15" with SSD 256 Gb and its almost a brand-new (the 4th time to use the device) a while ago i was trying to connect to my home wireless network it said that the connection is timed out so i clicked the airport sign on the top it said that your airport is not configured then I restarted the system but it didn't restarted it showed the grey screen with the apple logo and the spinning wheel for more than 10min so I tried the force shutdown by pressing the power button till it switched off I waited for 5min then pressed the power button to start or boot the system and again the grey screen with the apple logo and the spinning wheel, I waited for more than 20min nothing changed, any solution please?

Thanks a lot i followed the instructions for safe mode (i found out that i was pressing the C button after restarting) i did whats written there but the repair couldn't be performed so in addition i needed to re-formate the HD so i erased the volume and then repaired the disk--> quite disk utilities --> start the installation from the installation DVD.

Thank you for your response, I went throught each and every step without any luck, even got the recovery programme, and painstakingly tried to sift through all that mumbojumbo to find what i needed. finally found the bookmark bit, but it had been fully overwritten :(, so on reading about previous ff versions, found the sqlite thingys, and they were relatively unscathed(partly written over, but saveable apparently TG), saved them to adiff drive, amongst other possibly good folders. Then looked up how to install them, and it said to close FF, and install to profile folder.
So i tried to close FF, and the original problem from a few days ago, where it asked me if 'i was sure i wanted to close this window as it has X tabs open', popped up again. This is where 'open blank page' selection was set, over 'open previous tabs'. Wanting to save that info on how to sort out these friggin files, I reset the Option to 'open previous tabs', and closed FF. After unsucessfully searching for the profile folder on my laptop, i opened FF intending to search online for where i could find said folder.
AND BANG, surprise surprise, the FF I had just closed with only tabs open about finding out what the heck to do, had disappeared, and instead my original saved tabs were up, and my bookmarks are there..... I am gobsmacked! what the heck just happened there???
I have made 3 back up in different folders now, of those friggin bookmarks. I am weary now tho of shutting it all down.... what if its back to the other pages I had with no bookmarks, tomorrow :(

I moved the itunes folder to an external hard drive but it didn't work, so I want to revert back to original set up. All the files are still on the local hard disk. I have tried to reverse the steps I used previously but when I try to play a track it says original file could not be found. If I navigate to the itunes music folder and select a track direct from there it opens itunes and plays so I know the music is still on the computer I just can't figure out how to get it to play direct from itunes.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, passwords, and other website specific data.

Downgrade to an older nightly that works for a week or so, then test again to see if the bug's still there. In the mean time, report the bug on Bugzilla if it hasn't already been. There's really nothing you can do about bugs in nightlies.
(A similar sort of bug that triggered 60 seconds after opening, every time, was what got me out of using nightlies as my main browser.)

If your preferences keep getting messed up try this:   make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
     User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
     User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

I'm having troubles converting my raw files from Nikon D5200 (NEF) to DNG. I tried using Lightroom 4, but it didn't identify the folder containing the files. So i downloaded the latest DNG converter but that too didn't identify the files kept in the folder location. So I downloaded DNG converter v7.3 for D5200. It identifies the folder and files; but it is giving me parsing error on trying to convert files. I'm running Windows Vista Home Edition SP1. Kindly advise. Thank you.

I probably missed this detail in what you’ve posted, but do you see the thumbnails of the three cameras’ raw files in Finder if you don’t convert to DNG?
What has happened in the past is that the Apple raw interpreter doesn’t read thumbnails of DNGs it doesn’t like, where at least one thing it didn’t used to like was embedded lens corrections for mirrorless cameras. Are the Olympus and Panasonic mirrorless—meaning there is no optical viewfinder and everything is seen on an LCD screen or perhaps an electronic view finder? If so the reason these are different is that the camera is doing the lens distortion corrections automatically and this information is stored in the raw files and in the DNGs but Apple doesn’t know how to use these embedded lens corrections or doesn’t know how to read the newer DNG spec that does allow for this information to be embedded in the DNG, at least.
Apple could just extract the embedded jpg preview and ignore the other parts of the file it doesn’t understand, but it apparently doesn’t do this.
What I’m not sure about is if the Apple raw interpreter still has this problem or if you’re on an older system without the latest updates for camera raw decoding by Apple.

Apple no longer distributes iDVD.
1) Buy an old iLife from a place such as e-bay or Amazon. Make sure it is a version that has iDVD. Do not buy it from Apple since their version no longer has iDVD.
2) Try a third party application (none really have the features of iDVD though).

My mbp 15 retina doesn't start up, i tried to install Windows using bootcamp but it didn't work well

I tried to install windows 7 using bootcamp, i did every steps, when the installation of the windows started i selected the partition created by bootcamp but it didn't install because it said that maybe something was corrupted, then i quit the installation but now my mac doesn't start up, the screen gets black and it says: no bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key.
I try to press alt/option when it starts but nothing occurs. I don't know what is going on, i really need to use it urgently, i hope i won't loose my data. Well i hope someone could help me!!
