I moved my Masters, now how can I tell Aperture that my photos have moved?

I just purchased Aperture, and wanted to import my iPhoto photos into Aperture. However, there was not nearly enough hard drive space on my MacBook, so I copied the iPhoto photos onto an external hard drive, and then imported the photos from the external drive into Aperture, keeping the masters on the external. So far, so good. Now I disconnect the external hard drive from my MacBook and attach it to my AirPort, thinking that I would be able to mount the external over my network and Aperture would see that the maters were now on the networked drive. However, now Aperture is saying that it cannot find my master images. So my question is, how can I tell Aperture that my photos have moved? I thought about the relocate master menu item, but I can't to that because I am not actually relocating the images, I am relocating the drive that the images are stored on. Any help would be most appreciated

Reconnect Masters, as opposed to relocating them.

  • HT1349 we both have the same Iphone, how can we make sure that we both have different account on the same network?

my partner and i have the same models of Iphone. how can we make sure that when she logs on to our home network, it recognises her phone and doesn't down load to my phone?

Did you try to rename one of them? iTunes: How to rename your device
iTunes remembers the settings for each phone when you sync, even if both phones are called "My iPhone".
So make sure to set it up like you want to, after that iTunes will do the rest.

  • How can I tell what generation iPad I have?

    Hi there:
I was first and foremost wondering what kind/generation of iPad I own:
    Model number:  MB292LL
    Serial number: GB0393LJZ38
Secondly, depending on that info, I was wondering how much this iPad now costs (a hyperlink would be great) and third, what kind of keyboard (Zaragoza or Taurus) is compatible with it?  I would like an internal physical keyboard that holds an iPad vs something that externally connects to the iPad).  Let me know if there are any other details I can provide.

You can google the model number
    Amazon.com: Apple iPad (first generation) MB292LL/A Tablet (16GB ...

    Rating: 3.9 - 730 reviews - $485.00 - In stock

So you have an I pad 1.  See the price above.
There are a gazillion keyboards availble.  Read some reviews and pick what you want
I have a brookstone case with built in keyboard.  I hate it.  So skip that one.
( for what it's worth, after a while you get used to the on screen keyboard and don't really need the external.)

  • How do I tell LR that my photos are now on a different disk?

    Hi all,
I would think that this question might have been asked before, but couldn't find a solution that helped me out. I run out of space on my laptop and decided to move all my photos to an external drive and use that as an extension of my laptop to work on and store my photos. So I copied all my photos from my main disk over to the external drive, but I'm stuck as far as telling LR that it should from now on use the photos on the external drive rather than the ones on my laptop. I simply copied the contents of the Pictures folder on my resident drive to the external drive, therefore, it should be a faithful mirror of what is found on the residential drive. I was hoping I wouldn't have to import all those photos again at their new location but instead there is a way to simply point LR to the new directory?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi sundaydiver!
Click the ? icon in the upper right corner of an image in Grid view. You will get a dialog box telling you the image can't be found. It will tell you the previous known location. Press the LOCATE button.
Next you are presented with a Finder (Mac) or Explorer (PC) window. Navigate to where the new file resides. Make sure that the checkbox FIND NEARBY MISSING PHOTOS is checked. That should find them. If a few are left out just repeat the process.
Generally, the higher up in the folder structure the image is the more this process will find.

  • How can I tell which custom brush I have applied to a line?

I've created some custom brushes in Illustrator CC 2014 and applied them to various lines.
Is it possible to know which brush I've applied to a line (like you can see what color a line is by viewing the Color or Swatches Palette). When I activate the stroke the Brushes Palette just sits there, not highlighting anything.

    artracer,
Look at Stroke in the Appearance palette.

  • How can I tell what album a photo is in.

Hi, Is it possible to be in my library and tell what album or albums a selected photo is in?
Also does anyone know the limit to the number of albums you can have?
    Thanks

    Travis:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Not really. You can create a smart albums that will show you which photos are not in any album, but I don't know of any way to do what you want to without some extra effort, i.e. create a keyword for each album and have those shown in the thumbnail view.
There's no listed limit to the number of albums that can be used. There may be a practical limit in regards to scrolling, etc.

  • How can I tell what keyboard layout I have without opening packaging?

I ordered a Macbook Air with UK keyboard but the box label has the following code:
    MBAir 11.6/1.7/8GB/256Flash/USA/SWM
Does this mean it is a USA keyboard?
I don't want to open it if it needs to go back for exchange.

  • Help! How can I tell which Airport Card I have installed in my Mac Pro?

I bought a mac pro from comp usa in December, without the airport extreme option. I later got an airport card from apple on-line and took it to my Apple store to have it installed. I just don't know if it's the newer 802.11n card or an old 802.11g?
Any way to tell this in system profiler it just says:
Wireless Card Type: AirPort Extreme (0x14E4, 0x87)
    Wireless Card Locale: USA
Wireless Card Firmware Version: Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (4.80.79.1)
    Thanks a lot!

There is only one model of AirPort card for the Mac pro ( it is draft 802.11n compatible ). Some other intel Mac's may or may not have had the 802.11n enabler update applied. The enabler is/was a $1.99 download from Apple, so priced as the FTC deemed that it "added" features rather than revised existing firmware.

  • Lost itunes libary how can i tell my itunes that it´s my iphone?

Hi, my computer just crashed, now i got a new one, but how can i tell itunes that this is my new computer and that this is my iphone?
The phone is available in itunes but i can´t switch anything, (apps, music etc)
    plz help me

The iphone will sycn with one and only one cpmputer at a time.  When you sync to another it will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.
Copy everything from your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.
