I moved to Europe and now my iPod nano isn't recognized by French version of iTunes

I have a laptop with Window 7.
Since in France, in order to buy music on iTunes I had to download its French version, letting me keep the music already there. But now I don't seem to be able to synchronize and/or update my iPods (I have one first generation and one touch 6 th generation).
I must say that, before I left the U.S., I downloaded music on the iPods from another computer - my main desk computer (and account with iTunes). So, would it be a problem because the libraries are different in each computer or because the account is now in a different country?
I am lost... Some help would be really appreciated.
Thanks.

Have you carefully worked through each and every single suggestion in this Apple support document?

I would think, Twins1995, that if we are having the problem, others are as well. Hopefully, Apple will shortly issue a follow-up software release to fix the problem. Or is that just wishful thinking on my part.
It would be helpful, if there were some kind of work-around in the interim, so we can use our devices. Pretty frustrating when you consider that all of the hardware and software is produced by Apple.

I downloaded the latest version of itunes and now my ipod nano won't sync.  The sync process appears to lock up on the 2nd song and will not continue to sync. I let it run all night the first time and it never went past the 2nd song.  I unchecked the 2nd song so a different song would be 2nd, no benefit; reset my ipod nano; shut down laptop and restarted a different time; shorted the number of songs to sync; all without benefit.

When you connect your ipod up to the computer. It should show the device, usually with the name of the device, in my case 'jordan's ipod'. This should be on the row which shows 'songs', 'albums' e.t.c on the far right. There when you click on it it should go to a different screen showing a picture of your ipod along with two buttons - Update and Restore. Click update and it should take a 2 mins while your ipod is updated to the latest version of Ios.
After updating te ipod see if there is a change in results.
PS: make sure the device is active while syncing so keep tapping the screen.
Sorry for any incorrect info, i have an ipod touch, but i've had experience with an ipod

  • TS3716 installed the new itunes and now my ipod nano  does not show in the device menu

installed the new itunes and now my ipod nano  does not show in the device menu

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

    Hi MartyP680,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It appears that you're receiving a message that your iPod nano can't be identified properly, and you've already tried removing and reinstalling iTunes. You've also isolated this behavior to only one of your PCs.
If the issue persists, there are some additional tips in this article that may help, including verifying that the Apple Mobile Device Support service installed properly and is running:

Never mind, I think. I think I figured it out. There was 1 song (out of > 900!) that somehow had been purchased with the other ID - I have no idea how. Once I deleted that song, it stopped asking.
There may be something with the newest iTunes version too. I didn't think in older versions that the "On this iPod" list of songs was greyed out. But at least it syncs ok.

  • My Second Generation iPod Nano isn't recognized by my Toshiba Laptop

    Hello,
I have a problem and I was hoping someone on here would be able to help me.
A couple of weeks ago I have bought a new Second Generation silver coloured 2GB iPod Nano. I have tried to hook it up with my Toshiba Sattelite A100 PSAA9 laptop without having iTunes installed, but while having Quicktime installed. My laptop gave the message 'new hardware detected, iPod', but then started the wizard 'New hardware detected' and searched for a driver, which it couldn't find. I disconnected the iPod and installed iTunes and tried to connect again.. Same result.
I have tried hooking up the iPod with a different computer that has iTunes installed and it works perfectly on there. I have also tried hooking it up with another laptop without having iTunes installed and that laptop recognizes the iPod immediately and requests to download iTunes.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling all Apple software multiple times, using a register cleaner to make sure all Apple software is indeed gone. Next to that I have tried all the suggestions on the Apple problem shooting pages, such as resetting my iPod or even putting it in storage mode, but it won't be recognised by my laptop. I have also tried the special tips for Toshiba users, but that wouldn't help either. I have no idea what to do any more. I could really use some help.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sanne

  • My new Ipod Nano isn't recognized by my computer or by ITunes. What could be some reasons?

My new Ipod Nano 7 does not come up as a drive on my computer. The computer clunks to acknowledge a new device is attached but it is not shown in explorer. ITunes DOES open as it should, but it gives me a message "An IPod has been detected but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the IPod and try again. If the problem persists, please uninstall ITunes and reinstall ITunes." We did all that, several times. The new IPod does work correctly on our other laptop, of the same generation, with similar security. Could this be a block specific to some security on my computer? We tried all ports on my computer. I can't troubleshoot using my previous IPod because I put it through the laundry - thus the reason for a new one.

  • I just downloaded latest version of Itunes and now my Ipod does not show up when I connect to Itunes, I just downloaded latest version of Itunes and now my Ipod does not show up when I connect to Itunes

I recently downloaded the latest version of Itunes.  As soon as that was finalized, my Ipod stopped showing up on the screen when I was in Itunes and I can't sync new songs and audiobooks to it.  How do I get my Ipod to work again?  It charges up and plays just fine, it will not sync or update with Itunes.  There is nothing showing on Itunes that I can manually sync it, either.  That option can't be clicked on.  I have no other devices other than the Ipod that syncs with Itunes now, I used to have an Iphone, but I don't anymore

  • IPod Nano isn't recognized by iTunes/computer

I've had my iPod Nano for almost six months now, and up until now I haven't had any problems with it. When I connect it to the computer, it charges but it doesn't say "Do not disconnect", it doesn't sync any new songs and on iTunes, there is no "device" section and the computer doesn't recognize the iPod.
I've downloaded the latest iTunes software, and I use a Windows XP OS, it's a Dell PC.
Please help! I've looked at many of the support topics, but none of them seem to fit my situation. Thanks.

  • HELP, I USED LINUX AND NOW MY IPOD NANO IS MESSED UP!!

I downloaded Linux for my Nano, but now I can do anything, all I get is a folder with a "!" on the folder, please help!

I think I figured out how to put your Ipod back into working condition, to the way you received, sort of in a "like new state" if you will. What I have just found on the Ipod linux forums is very easy, in fact alot easier than I thought, you would of had to use the HP disk format utility, but all you have to do is go ahead and use apple's firmware for the ipod, in case you don't know what that is, it's the software that apple releases which is basically in a pc user's words "the BIOS that controls your Ipod functions, such as backlight brightness, font type, etc. It's basically the Operating System". That's to put it into a easy understandable way. If all you are seeing on your nano is just an exclamtion point then you are in luck, all you do is restore your Ipod using the Apple Ipod updater, that is if your pc can detect your Ipod. Which I think if it didn't you would have posted that. So there you have it, your Ipod should be running as it once did, before a failed linux installation.
