MacBook Pro OS X (10.5.1) I have installed new Leopard and reinstalled ILife '08 but every time i launch IMovie it basically does not work !!! THis is what i Get !

I have been getting this nasty error when trying to start weblogic server through my newly created domain.
The WebLogic Server did not start up properly.
Reason: weblogic.security.SecurityInitializationException: Authentication denied: Boot identity not valid; The user name and/or password from the boot identity file (boot.properties) is not valid. The boot identity may have been changed since the boot identity file was created. Please edit and update the boot identity file with the proper values of username and password. The first time the updated boot identity file is used to start the server, these new values are encrypted.
The point is even if i alter boot.properties with the correct username and pwd (these values are the same that I used while creating the domain), I see the same error.
Any help is appreciated.

Ensure that the boot.properties file is encrypted. If not it generally means that the server is not recognizing the file. But as per the error message you are getting it should not be the case.
step1: Try copying the boot.properties to another backup location and delete the existing one. Then try to start the server which would prompt you for password. Try entering your admin password and make sure the server boots up properly.
step2: Then get the boot.properties file back and edit the information once again to add the details like:
username=weblogic
password=weblogic

I also used emergency user ID but it too falied.
I then tried to add another usr to direct dispatcher method and gave the port 8101 instead of 50004.It logged upto 95% and gave <b>"could not open connection host"
if connected through look up connection</b>
"msgserver/text/logon returned empty list of parameters" or user authentication failed.I tried all ways but failed.Please help me in this pretext by giving a solution other than reinstallation of Netweaver.

Hi Prabhat,
Is your server up and running? It sounds like that's the main problem. If it's not up then you won't be able to login with the J2EE engine. I had some trouble with SP14 in that the database service needs to be up and running before you try to use the SAP Managment Console to start the server. Try shutting down the server, starting the windows service that corresponds to your database, and then restarting the server.

Toshiba Satelitte A60-302 doesn't start, please help!

I have some problems with my A60-302, when I try to turn it on, nothing happens, only black screen and "Toshiba - in touch with tommorow" isn't showed. The leds seems to be normal, no signs of beeping or sth like that. I've tried to remove the battery for a while, also tried to turn it on without the battery, but it did'n work. Ive got bad news for you. If you cant see Toshiba-Logo in boot-process there must be some hardware fault. You have to take your mashine to service.

I movie doesn´t start

Version 9.0.8 the window for Imovie open but in 20 minutes nothing happenstart but nothing happens (turning ball). I had to end the prozess. Can somebody help me?

Trashing iMovie's preference file will often fix problems.
Firstly, go to your Home (your user name) /Library/Preferences folder (NOT the Library folder at the top level in Macintosh HD).
As you appear to be on Lion (Mac OS X 10.7.5), the User Library folder is hidden (as it is on Mountain Lion - Mac OS X 10.8.2). To access the Library folder, click on Go in the Finder menu bar, then press and hold down the Option key - the Library folder will appear in the drop down list.
In your Home/Library/Preferences folder, locate a file named "com.apple.iMovieApp.plist". With iMovie closed, drag this file to the Desktop. When next opened, iMovie will create a fresh preference file with the default settings. If iMovie now runs OK, you can change these settings in the menu item "IMovie>Preferences" if desired. Also, it's now safe to drag the old preference file to the Trash. Trashing the file will not harm your existing Events or Projects.

Macbook doesn't start up - Help Please?

I have a Macbook Intel Core 2 Duo that I bought back in January 2007, OS X 10.4.11. Yesterday I was starting up my computer, but got no response from the power button. The battery was fully charged. Nevertheless I plugged in the power cord, but yet again, my Macbook would not start up. I have tried everything, but pressing on the power button just makes the light by the camera flash rapidly in green. I got my Mac to start after several hours of trying, but I would like to know where this problem is coming from because it is constantly occuring. Have any of you experienced the same thing?

When you open System Profiler, do items in the "Overview" and "Hardware" section show as usual? Memory - all there? Diagnostics - passed? Serial-ATA's S.M.A.R.T. status - verified?
First, backup your important data immediately before trying anything further.
Your Mac does not need installed software to start up, also does not need an internal hard drive - therefore, have you tried inserting the original grey-labeled Install Disc 1 to see if/how it starts up to that disc when you hold down the "d" key to run the Apple Hardware Test?
Starting up in that manner will bypass the internal hard drive and the installed software. Theoretically, it should always startup right away when starting up to the Install Disc 1. Any stated results obtained from running a fresh Apple Hardware Test?
If your MacBook will not start up any better when trying with Install Disc 1, it probably has a hardware failure - perhaps the battery/power supply or a connector or cable...perhaps worse. The Apple Hardware Test may not recognize what the problem is, so don't rely on a no problem report if that's what it shows. If there is any error, write it down and pass that info along to the repair folks when you call them.

DVD doesn't start

I borrowed DVD - "WORKS of ART by THEO ANSEN"
After inserting the cd, Dvd player starts, but it doesn't work. I can see dvd menu right cornet at bottom of the screen. The movie doesn't start, but also I can't select anything in the menu. I can't even quit Dvd player, so I have to press shut down button. Why is that?

The first thing you probably want to check is whether the DVD is clean or not. It may freeze when you put the disc in because it is having trouble reading it. So, first clean it off. Second, I would open up the DVD player application before you insert the DVD, and make sure the screen size isn't set to full screen, so you can see the desktop. Insert the DVD, and when it freezes, try clicking on the desktop and see if it can put the desktop in the foreground. You may get the spinning color wheel - let it sit for a while and see if it can fix itself. If it can't, press commandoptionescape and see if DVD player says "not responding" next to it. If it does, force quit DVD player.
If you can't get it to play with the above options, then I would try two more things. First, I would try a different DVD. If another DVD runs fine, then you can be sure that nothing is wrong with the computer and it is the initial DVD that is causing problems. If all DVD's freeze when you put them in, I would question whether the DVD application is working correctly; a reinstallation may be necessary.
Also, for added measure, why don't you go ahead and repair the permissions on your hard disk. You can do this by opening hard drive/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility. Disk Utility is a very powerful tool which allows you to perform many functions. All that we are interested in is the "repair permissions" function. On the left hand side of the Disk Utility window, you hard drive and volume will be listed. Select the OS volume, and under the +first aid+ tab select +repair permissions+. If you haven't done that in a while, you'll probably get a whole list of things that are repaired. Then, restart and try running DVD player again.
Hopefully one of these options works. Please let me know the results!

Please do not delete any files from the HDD without having a current backup.
I'm not sure what you mean when you say you've "deleted all old libraries." Can you explain that?
If all you are wanting to do is empty the iTunes library of all music, video playlists, etc. the easiest way is to quit iTunes and, in the Finder, go to ~/Music/iTunes and simply move the .itdb, .itl and .xml files to the trash. Launch iTunes again and the library will be empty.
You should be prompted to add content, so you can let iTunes scan the HDD if you like.

Help: Pointbase db doesn't start when launching SP4 portal

I downloaded WL platform SP4 today and installed (before the installation I uninstalled SP2)in my laptop. When I launch the examples portal, the pointbase db doesn't start. I tried both SP2 and SP3 in my laptop and both worked. The error messages below are directly copied from the console. My understanding is the portal server startup will automatically start pointbase db (I didn't do any configuration yet). Anybody know the problem and solution?
My laptop config:
Win XP, SP2, 1.6 GHz, 1GB memory

The exception doesn't tell me much more than the DB connection / pool couldn't connect to the db.
Sometimes solving these types of problems where it should work, this works everywhere else, so what could be wrong here... Let me suggest that you install a new domain using a new root directory. IE c:\bea814 and not reuse c:\bea.
I'm guessing that an essential script or property file was not overwritten by the 814 install.
JBTW, 814 pointbase is a new version and is run on a new port from prior 8.x versions, the new port is 9093, where prior versions was 9092.
A diag. is after you start via, startWebLogic.cmd, to open a DOS window and run this command:
netstat -an
Look for a LISTEN on port 9093
This would confirm that 814's pointbase is started and there's a configuration issue with the connection pools.

My Mac book pro doesn't start following some issues with the touch pad.when I press on/off button it shows me a blank white board with apple logo followed by a text

Bunch of texts That doesn't last more than 2seconds on the screen followed by a white screen which says" your computer restarted because of a problem, press a key and wait few seconds to continue startup" in five more languages.
I only put some of the texts because I can't read them they don't last long
Any suggestion will be appreciated please.

I took it to a regular computer repair center and they said its an issue with the 1*8 gb and 1*2 gb totally 10 gbs i put in and then i replaced the 8gb with the old 2 gb that came with the computer and the issue is the same.
I tried reseting it to factory form that took 3days to download os 8 . and finally stopped by itself.
I don,t know if i had to take it to apple store?
