I-movie HD 6.0.3 problem

I have a question regarding my i-movie projects. I recently took my laptop to the genius bar, so they can fix my updating problem. My computer wouldn't update so they re-installed the same operating system, but updated it to Max OS 10.5.8 on my computer. Now, all of my saved projects on i-movie hd 6.0.3 are not opening without problems. It would say stray files or some files are missing. Or it would put in in the trash. Now, i have a feeling I need to use an older mac in order to not have any problems and continue my projects, is this true or is there any way around it. I appreciate any help. Thank you.

First, this does not directly answer your question, but you are not using the most recent version of iMovie- there is a 6.0.4 version available.
To answer your question, go to Mac HD; your account name; library; iMovie; plug-ins.

I have a Panasonic FZ38 HD camera. I can load and view my hd movies onto iMovie with no problems via my camera or a card reader. When I try to copy my hd videos from my old Windows pc to my new iMac, the picture speed has doubled but the sound is normal.

I have a Panasonic DMC-FZ38 HD camera and have lots of hd movie clips stored on my old Windows Pc using Photofun software supplied by Panasonic, which I want to transfer to my new Imac computer. I am able to copy my most recent movies that are still on the memory card from my camera onto Imovie and view them with no problems at all. When it comes to copying my old existing hd movies stored on my Windows Pc (and which are no longer stored on a memory card), I discover that when I view them on the Imovie, the speed has doubled but the sound is normal. In order to transfer my old movies I have copied them back onto a memory card (SDHC - the same card as previously used) and then put the card back into my camera and then copied them onto my Imac via the camera USB. I have also used a card reader but get the same result. If I view the same movie through my camera, or look at it on my old pc, it plays at normal speed. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening please?

iM is a bit.. iffy, when it comes to the definition, what a 'camera' is. historically, only tape based machines were a movie-camera. nowadays still-cams allow movin' images too..
but, as mentioned above: the intended workflow is: material from photo cameras (even when they move) => import via iPhoto; material from video cameras (even when they don't move.. ) => iMovie
when the import is done, you'll notice in all iLife apps the 'media browser' - in iM09, on the very right, the icon with a camera on.. click it, presto, all (incl. your 'videos') your iPhoto Library at hand for usage in iMovie.

Movie or Digital Copy Download Problems

Using iTunes 11 on my Mac and having problems too. I'm not getting an error message however.
When I enter the code, I am prompted for my Apple ID/password, which I enter, but nothing happens after that. I've also had iTunes ask me for my password repetedly even after entering it, with no sucsess in downloading the file.

HD Movie / TV episode download issue / problem / difficulty

The issue is that the download is extremely slow.
I purchased both the HD and the SD versions of Lost - "the Final Journey" - (2.56 GB and 1.11 GB respectively), as they are free.
The download was proceeding in parallel.
While the SD episode was downloaded in about 3 hours (370 MB per hour), the HD version was not moving at all (or almost). It did less than 10 MB in 3 hours (3.2 MB per hour).
I do not understand why the HD version which is 2.5 times larger, downloads at a pace of 100 time slower than standard definition version.
This experiment clearly shows that my connection is fine, and there is something different in the server that holds the HD version, or the way it is handled that makes the download so slow.
(the fact that they ran in parallel does not matter, because when the SD episode finished, the HD episode downloaded alone at the same slow pace).
I had a similar issue on a HD movie rental, but was not able to resolve it then,
and gave up. At the time, I did not have the SD version download in parallel.

I guess Apple does not care enough to answer their customers. Do not purchase any more videos from the Apple Store until these forums no longer contain these download issues, especially with no replies. Funny, I don't have these problems with my PC companies!, You know, Real computer companies!

Frontrow movie covers and avi-files problems

I have a problem with the movie covers in Fontrow.
I have placed every avi-file in a separate catalogue, and named the catalogue after the movie. I have also placed the movie cover in the same catalogue(preview.jpg). And when I scroll down the list of movie covers in Frontrow everything looks ok... But when I scroll back up again, the movie covers are changed to the first frame of the movie
To get back to the covers I must re-start Frontrow,and everythins looks ok, but as soon as I scroll back up again Im back to the first frame of the movie.
Is there something I can do to have Frontrow ignoring the first frame in the avi-file and always show the preview.jpg??

Frontrow alternates (5 sec) between "preview.jpg" and the "movie.avi" file.
Did you manage to find a solution / workaround?

Row movement Disabled at DB- creating problems in OWB mapping

Hi All,
We have a OWB mapping 'XXXXX' with Default operating mode set to 'setbased-failover to rowbased' mode.The generation mode is set to 'Row Based'.This is called in a processFlow 'YYY'
This was running fine until sometime ago.
Recently at the database row movement on tables was disabled.
After this the 'YYYY' fails with a 'Warning:ORA-01403: no data found' when it calls 'XXXXX'.
Any idea on what this means.Is it something to do with the row movement disablin done recently?
Is the default operating mode and generation mode combination selected by us valid.
Please provide any inputs /queries by which we can trace the exact problem.

I don't think that issue will be with OWB.
take generated code and run in directly in database and check are you getting the same error.

Movies - Multiple audio tracks strange problem

This is a strange problem.
I have a .mov with 2 audio tracks. One italian (the first and active) and one english. The movie is compatible with ATV.
Using QuickTime Pro I can choose the language while watching the movie.
Using iTunes I see the movie with the first language selected on preferences (cmd+j on QuicTime Pro).
On ATV the same movie plays just English, the second language, and this is quite strange.
Does anyone have the same problem?

Hmm, I don't really know. I have converted the DVD with 128 kbps for the two audio traks (stereo).Sounds like I need to go back and run additional tests. For my first attempt, I used two stereo tracks -- each 128 Kbps @ 44.1 KHz. For latest test used two mono tracks with the first 64 Kbps @ 44.1 KHz (keyed to English) and the second 32 Kbps @ 32 KHz (keyed to Italian).
I create a m4v video, I open with QuickTime Pro and work on the preferences for audio traks, than I save with mov extension.Had assumed we were both using similar strategies to create alternate audio movies here. Basically I create the movie with two audio tracks and then open the "Properties" window, select the first audio track (which is already set for English), set the alternate audio track pop-up for Audio Track 2, select the second audio track, set the language pop-up to Italian for this one, and use the Save As... menu option to create a Fast Sart, Standalone movie in the MOV container.
In this way I have a perfect double-language movie that, as I told, works perfectly on QuickTime and iTunes.Did have one question though. When you say you have a "perfect double-language movie that ... works perfect on QuickTime and iTunes," are you saying you can change the language in iTunes while the movie is playing? While I have no problem changing language using the "Choose language" menu command in the QT player, I have yet to be able to find a way to do this while playing in iTunes.
UPDATE: to temporally solve the problem I have changed the infos on movie properties. Calling the English audio track "Holland" (or any other language that is listed after Italian) I have solved the problem. On Tv, iTunes and Quicktime I can hear the "default" language (italian) and, just changing again the properties, I cand hear the second language.I think we are doing the same thing only I did not bother/have to use and additial language setting to get this to work.
In this case Audio Track 2 (Italian) is the default.
In this case Audio Track 1 (English) is the default.
Thus, for my test, I created two separate movies with each defaulted differently and played them back in each program/device to see which audio track played. In each case it was the "checked" default audio track and changing the "Language" setting for TV to Italian had no effect.

Movies to ipod and screen problem.

I gave my husband an Ipod touch for Christmas . Is there a way, legally, to put one of his DVD films onto it for use when travelling ? Does he need other software ?
Also, after he has taken the ipod out of itunes his computer screen flashes on and off and he can't restore his screensaver. he has a Mac running Tiger and with the intel.
There wasn't much in the way of info came with the package. Any ideas, please?

The flash is not an alert. The desktop changes to a black screen with some white writing in the top left corner. This goes back to the desktop before we can read it. touching the mouse stops the flash for a few minutes but only choosing sleep stops it.
The screen saver function on the mac will give us the test but that's all.
We buy music from itunes and would have no problem with buying movies if we could get them but we can't. We get the window that we can't have movies except in the US.
The Mac World article looks interesting and I have also found that just googling" itune movies " throws up some interesting sites. I don't know how safe, reliable or legal they are.

I-Movie 6 Back to Camcorder problem

I recently completed a project in i-Movie 6 and successfully burned a DVD.During this project I was able to view it via the camcorder (Panasonic NV GS 400). However, when I came to return
it to tape, I continually got a message that "connexion to the camera has been lost". I could, moreover, no longer view the project on the camcorder. I had successfully completed another project a couple of months before with a DVD and returned it to tape. In the meantime, I ha upgraded to Leopard from Tiger.
I am most disappointed, as I like i-Movie 6 very much, but I must be able to return to tape.
What is causing this problem, does anyone think (or better still, know)?
One more point - I could play back clips on the camcorder, but the problem was with the Timeline, ie the project as a whole.

Yes, exactly that. On completing the Project I can immediately burn a DVD successfully. As soon as I request "Export back to Tape" everything goes to pot - no VIEWING via the camera, no ability to burn DVD, and of course no EXPORT to camera. On exporting to camera I get a message (after one second) "Connexion to Camera has been lost". On burning to DVD I get a message " Errors in the Project which need to be fixed first".

Move footage item to folder problem.

Hi,
I have a problem. I have created script with following action:
Import footage.
Create "_MAIN_RENDER_FX##" comp from footage.
Precomp footage from _MAIN_RENDER_FX## to _MAIN_COMP_FX##.
Add it to render queue.
Create "Composition" and "Footage" folder.
Add comp to Composition folder and footages to Footage folder.
Problem is that if I move Footages to "Footages" folder in the script and launch script again to import another footage,
It will keep in memory older footage information. If I comment that section out which moves footages to "Footages" folder it works,
It even works if I move footage to folder by hand and run script again.
My script consists three functions:
getInfoItem(item) // takes footage item and parse filename to different keywords.
findFolderItemByName(name) // this just checks that if folder exists by given name.
ChooseFile() // This is where we do import stuff which i explained earlier.
Can you spot mistake from my code or give some advice to improve my coding (Im quite new of scripting)?
NOTE: This is hard coded to our project folder structure so getInfoItem function only works with this kind of folder structure.

sorry, lost track of this thread for a while. this is actually pretty easy. the simplest would be to use applescript only but it can be done with automator with only minimal use of applescript. I don't know how to do it without using apple script altogether.
make the following workflow in automator.
1. get selected finder items.
2. run applescript
