I.Movie Help - joining a theme and trailer together?

I am using i.movie 11 (v9.0.02) and have created a soccer match movie. I also created a trailer for this movie.
1. How do you join the two together. As I had to create two separate projects, or am I doing something wrong?
2. What's the best way to move across to i.DVD to create the final movie for burning?
From i.Movie I shared them with i.Tunes using a large format as I was told this would give a better quality finish. However, once I started creating my DVD I noticed that I couldn't put the trailer and the movie together (I want them to continually flow) so I had to open a new 'slideshow' and add them both into that. Whilst watching the movie back it came out a bit fuzzy? This also happened when I created a new movie folder and put just the movie of the game in there. More importantly how to I keep a good quality finish?
Can anyone give me some help as I need this for the whole soccer team.

No you are doing the right thing. Themes vs. Trailers force you to pick one or the other. So you would have to do two seperate projects to get both visual elements to appear.

You would Share to Media Browser for both versions the Theme and the Trailer versions of the projects. Then in iDVD you would click on the Media button and then the Pictures button and then look for your projects under the iMovie star icon in the Media Browser window. Then you would drag each project into your iDVD project and burn the disk.

You don't want to share to iTunes, but you do want to Share to Media Browser and then in iDVD pull the projects from the Media Browser back into the iDVD project window. That's the highest quality step you can maintain. So skip Share to iMovie, Share to Media browser instead.
However, once I started creating my DVD I noticed that I couldn't put the trailer and the movie together (I want them to continually flow) so I had to open a new 'slideshow' and add them both into that.
It sounds to me like you might be better off combining the two projects in iMovie, and there's some workarounds to do that, rather than use the iDVD tools to try and combine them into one movie. Here's what you should try to do:
1. Using the Trailer version of your project, In iMovie go to the Share menu > Share using QuickTime
2. Before you save it click the Options buttons as you want to set things in a way that iMovie can reuse your saved movie
3. Click the settings button, under that choose Apple Intermediate Codec:
Then save the .mov file to the Desktop, so you can easily find it.
4. Go to the Non-Trailer version of your project and open it in the Project browser window (the top half of the iMovie screen)
5. Go to File Menu > Import Movies... then navigate out to your Desktop and find the .mov file. And import it into your iMovie Events folder.
6. Find the newly imported Trailer, and drag it into the Non-trailer project which is currently open in your Project browser. Drag and drop it at the begining or the end depending on where you want it to appear.
7. Go to the Share Menu > Share to Media Browser and let that run until it finishes, then quit iMovie
8. Open iDVD click on the Media button, then click on the Movies button. Find your shared project under the iMovie star icon in the Media Browser window. This exported version should have now BOTH of your projects consolidated into one iMovie project. Drag that into the iDVD project window and burn the DVD-R disk.

Help with creating a movie presentation using a theme and titles

I need to make a movie for a presentation for work and wanted to use the 007 theme or mission impossible on the iPad 2 however I've been told you can only do it on a Mac.? Or can it be done on iMovie I can't work it out on iMovie can anyone put me in the right direction I have seen someone do one using the indianna jones theme with titles but again it was on a Mac thanks Gail

There is a SourceTable1 (Employee) with Columns like EmployeeID,Name,DOB.
There is a sourcetable2 (EmployeeCode) with columns like EmployeeID,Code,Order.
There is a source table 3 #EmployeeRegioncode and its columns are (EmployeeID , RegionCode , [Order]
The target table 'EmployeeDetails' has the following details. EmployeeID,Name,DOB,Code1,Code2,Code3,Code4,regioncode1
regioncode2 ,regioncode3 ,regioncode4
The requirement is , the value of the target table columns the Code1,code2,code3 ,code4,code5 values should
be column 'Code' from Sourcetable2 where its 'Order' column is accordingly. ie) Code1 value should be the 'Code' value where [Order] column =1, and Code2 value should be the 'Code' value where [Order] =2, and so on.

Why do elements move when i place them and look at the preview the are not in the right spot

I cant get elements logo's and photo's to stay in place the are in a good spot when i place them bud when i look at the preview the suddenly moved 60 or more pixels from there spot.

Mobile themes and templates

It seems apex 4.1 supports developement of mobile apps and hence includes themes and HTML templates suitable for smart phones and mobile devices.
I have not found any themes specific to mobile apps. I could be wrong. Can anyone please help me locating themes and templates.

What are you actually trying to do? Why do you need "DVD size" folders if you're creatng an Archive on an external hard drive?
Also, I understand burning folders instead of individual photos or albums gives you more space on a DVD.
It makes no difference at all.
How can I keep the captions on my photos (not events) when I print or transfer to a new folder?
You can export while writing the metadata to the file in most cases.
Tne only way I know is to copy photos from the Windows to folders on my HD, then copy and paste photos or albums or events to HD, then create a new folder and fill it to the appropriate DVD size.
HD? Another HD? You use HD there in a way that makes no sense. What's the point of 'DVD size'?
I also thought I should download future photos to my Canon programming that comes with EOS cameras and edit and then decide which photos to save to iPhoto library and which to save only to my archival HD?
Does this have any relation to the previous questions? You know you can delete from iPhoto, right?
You're somewhat confused and you need to
1. Decide what exactly you want to do
2. Then go about it.
If I understand you correctly - and there's no guarantee that I do - the easiest thing is to bring all your Photos into iPhoto and do everything from there.
You can have an archive on an external disk, you can sort and select and edit with or via iPhoto

Films can't be redownloaded in all countries, and even where they can be not all studios have agreed to it. Have you checked to see if you they show in the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes, and the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your phone ?
If you can't redownload them you haven't got a copy of them on your backup of your downloads/library ?

Just a note about the difference between these two things:
* "export" and "import" use an ancient HTML document format that all browsers can understand. When you import bookmarks, Firefox may place them into an Imported Bookmarks folder, or into Unsorted Bookmarks. This does not displace existing bookmarks, and Firefox does not automatically remove duplicates.
* "backup" and "restore" use a more comprehensive JSON data file, which contains extra information about your bookmarks (such as tags) not contained in the traditional export file. HOWEVER, a restore completely replaces all existing bookmarks, so the restore feature cannot be used to merge in a set of additional bookmarks.

How do I move about 70 little videos from iPhoto into iMovie so I can edit them and add music. I don't have iDVD.

I need help with a problem! Last year I bought a new camcorder and my first iMac (OSX). My first movie was in New York City, so it's very special to me.
When I got home, I made a short New York City movie in iMovies but somehow I have deleted it all in iMovies. When I look in iPhotos, all the individual clips are there as short little movies (there are about 80 of them, all lasting a few seconds). Is there any way I can move those individual clips back into iMovie and have it back to where I started so that I can replace what I lost and I also to do some additional editing. To burn a DVD with iDVD from the latest version of iMovie, you have to export the movie using the Export button and select 480p as the size. Open iDVD and start a new project, then drag that exported movie file into the iDVD menu window, avoiding any drop zones you see.

I am organizing my external HD and want to move files NOT COPY them. How do I drag and drop folder contents without Mac automatically copying them to the "drop" location?

I am sorting out all the clutter and duplicate files on my external HD. In doing this I am moving the entire contents of folders to new locations. Some of these folders cointain gigs of info. I do not want to have to spend large amounts of time waiting for hundreds of gigs to copy somewhere then moving the originals to the trash and wait even longer deleting all of them. All I want to do is move the files up a subfolder, but the way Finder goes aobut doing it can be a 400 GB swing taking hours. How do I just "move" them?

I did a global change of permissions for the entire documents account in the currrent user account using the get info and apply to enclosed items.
I think what is happening is that the Documents folder normally carries an "everyone deny delete" ACL, meant to protect it from accidental deletion:
$ ls -lde ~/Documents
drwx------+ 6 t1 staff 204 Oct 9 08:51 /Users/t1/Documents
0: group:everyone deny delete
ACLs are special types of permissions that do not show up in GetInfo, but can get propagated if you click "Apply to Enclosed Items" on a folder that carries them. Affected files that acquire that ACL would require password authentication to move or delete them.
I think the following Terminal command (copy and paste it) should remove such ACLs from items within the Documents folder:
chmod -RN ~/Documents/*

Combing movie and trailer

I have made both movie and trailer in separate projects and now would like to combine them with the goal of sharing them on a DVD the way a professional DVD does with its bonus features. How do I combine the two projects? I am using iMovie '11 on a MacBook Pro with OSX 10.6.7.

On a professional DVD the two are not combined but are two separate files. Export to high quality QuickTime and take the two exported files to iDVD to build your menus.

How/where or can I- store 75+ HD movies (not purchased from itunes) and have them all accessible from an ipad? Is their a cloud or other app. that would allow me to do this? What my wife wants to do is to be able to open up an app. and have all of her movies listed and then be able to click on any of them and watch them on her ipad. HELP!

The easiest way to do this is to import the movies into iTunes and sync as many of them as will fit onto the iPad.
If you want easy access to all of the movies without having to sync, you can find a file sharing website and upload all the movies there. Then, get a download managing app such as iDownloads, bookmark the links to all of the movies, and you can download them at will and delete them when you're done with them.
If you're especially tech savvy and want a solution that is less laborious, you can setup an FTP server (such as the Filezilla server if you have Windows) on the computer where the HD movies are located, and give it access to the folder where the movies are. Then get an app that can download to FTP servers (GoodReader is one that I use) and download the movies at will via FTP. This solution requires less busywork, but is only feasible if you are especially technically savvy.
