I must be clueless...just purchased quicktime pro...need some help

so I just purchased quicktime pro...I purchased it on my work computer, because I was bored...and figured I would take the code home, and put it on my mac book. I didn't put the code or key on my work computer at all.
I guess my question is do I need the internet to activate my quick time pro at home? because I don't have the internet at home. I know I know...everyone does.
I did go to a coffee shop where they have wireless and I put the numbers in (on my mac book), and it didn't do anything...it just highlighted the code, and that is it. does it install anywhere that I can physically see? or does it just turn on the quicktime pro features?

I'm thinking I put the code in my mac book, and figured I needed to see something visual installing and didn't realize that it just turns it on.
Actually, there are a number of indicators. If you open the "Register" tab in "QuickTime Preferences...", you should see that your registration number remains as entered. (Should have been erased if your entries are rejected.) In addition, it should now say "QuickTime Pro 7" below your registration number. If you open the "About QuickTime Player" menu option, the QT blue "Q" should now have the word "Pro" superimposed on it. Lastly, all of the menu options that were previously grayed/covered by the word "Pro" are now working.

Just purchased Quicktime Pro 7, for iMac G5 with system OS X 10.4.11, AND cannot get at Quick Pro 7 despite the keys.

If the Pro registration worked the word Pro has been removed from many menu options.
The application remains just QuickTime Player 7 but the Pro features have been enabled.

  • I just purchased Quicktime pro key but when I go to system preferences to enter it  Quicktime icon is not there

I just bought Quicktime Pro key but when I go into system preferences, quicktime icon is not there

Thanks for the answer, but that doesn't answer the question why the icon whether it's QT Player or QT Pro is not appearing in system Pereferences. I have a MacBook running OS X 10.7.4 and there isn't an a QT icon in system preferences.
By the way, what is QuickTime X Pro? I recently purchased QT 7 Pro.
    Thanks

  • I have just purchased Quicktime Pro but Trim does not display IN and OUT options. It trims to the frame on display.

I have just installed Qicltime Pro but when I edit a video file and try to set the In and Out points, it does not show any way to set them. It trims the video down to the one point on display. Have I installed the software correctly?

QuickTime Player 7 Pro is in the Utilities folder.
To set in and out points set the position you want in the timeline and tap the i key. Move to the end of your selection and tap the o key. To step frame by frame move the playhead by tapping the left/right arrow keys.

  • Just purchased Quicktime Pro 7 and cannot find how to get it to work

I was given a registration code and told to "enter the name and registration code exactly as it appears into the Register pane of the QuickTime preference dialog box"
The problem is: I cannot find the registration pane of the quicktime preference dialog box.
    Help??????

QuickTime Pro is not a separate application, so there's nothing to "run" other than QuickTime Player. A Pro key just unlocks the extra features of QuickTime Player and the QuickTime browser plugin. If the Pro labels have gone from the menu items in QuickTime Player, then your key is correctly registered and you should be good to go.
If you continue to have problems, please start your own topic, describing fully the situation and where things seem to be breaking down.

  • I have windows 7 and just purchased quicktime pro, I get error-2000 ever time I try and open a dvd.

I have just paid £20 for QuickTime 7 pro and I cannot open a DVD. I get error-2000 every time. Any advice?

Neither QuickTime Player or the Pro upgrade can play commercial DVD's.
The MPEG-2 format found on non DRM DVD's requires additional software.

  • Just bought a Sound Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro Need some help hooking to a Home Theatre sys

hi everyone, Im having problems hooking up to my Reciever, I hooked up a optical cable to one of my in's on the back of my reciever to the out of the External I O but i dont hear anything, How do i hook this up, ? thanks.....

everything is connected right but there is no red light, from the tip, and i tried it on my ps2 and xbox and the optical cable is fine.....
If there's no light from the optical i/o then there's no audio signal at all and explain why you have no sound. Make sure you check all the cable including the power cable that you need to connect to the card. Does your power on LED on the external i/o light up? If all power are proper and there's still no light from the optical i/o then probably you have a faulty i/o that need replace.

  • I have a sony handy cam which states it is not compatiable with my macbook pro. need some help.

Hello, i have a sony handy cam and it states that it is not compatiable with my macbook pro to download videos or pictures. Any suggestions on how this can be done???

Hello, I also have a Sony Handycam; trying to download movies to the my Mac Book Pro 15" was very a very slow process but it is possible. Then I tried to download the movies into an external hard drive (my computer's memory got filled really fast) and from that just work from iMove but after searching through Sony's website I read it is necessary to acquire a transference cable to improve this process.

  • Sharing from Mac mini to Mac Pro - need some help...

I have an external drive (USB) connected to my Mac Pro. The Mac mini is in another room set up on the network. And Alias of the USB external Drive is in my Shared Folder and the Mac Mini sees it. I initially had to do "CMND+K" and enter in the Mac Pro's IP. It connected fine, and I can access the files. But, when I sleep the mini, and then wake it up later, I have to go through the "CMND+K" routine again and relogin to the Pro. I have tried adding this login routine to be auto, but it doesn't seem to be working. I get an error couldn't mount the drive when the mini wakes up. Maybe I did it wrong? Thanks

    Don't sleep the mini.

  • HT2240 How do I download my just purchased QuickTime 7 pro software.

How do I download my just purchased QuickTime 7 Pro software.

You don't download QuickTime Pro. You download QuickTime 7 to a computer and apply a QuickTime Pro key to it.

  • Do I need to purchase quicktime pro

I have FCE 3 and the latest updates. I was just wondering do I need to purchase quicktime pro or does FCE has the same options and settings in the software for quicktime?

Use what you have got. The time to THINK about further purchases is when you find that your existing software can't do what you want.

  • Just purchased QT Pro

Just purchased QT PRO and have no idea where to put in the registration code. I'm on windows XP, have the latest free QT version. The installation for Pro on the Apple site shows going into Window's Control Panel to access QT. QT does not show up on the control panel (ever), so have no idea where they got that.
Isn't there a way to just open QT and upgrade to Pro within that? Any help from windows users would be appreciated, just want to upgrade to Pro (y'know which I paid for!)
    Thanks- cesco7

Open QuickTime Player. Click the Edit menu and you should see an option to "Register". This will open the QuickTime Control Panel where you can copy/paste (from the email confirmation) the name and serial.

  • Purchased Quicktime Pro, but no email.

I recentely purchased Quicktime Pro, and it was dumb of me not to verify my email address, so it was sent to my old mac email account, which is no longer active. And now, there is no way I can access the key code that I purchased. Is there any way it can be sent to my active email address? Or is it possible to speak to live person about this transaction?
I could really use some help here. Thanks!

dont worry about it, just go to the apple store section of the website and login to your account.
Then under software downloads you will find your order and the reg key
