I must be a lucky person, cause I have not had any problems whatsoever with my iPad. I use it daily and have been ecstatic with it's quality. Flash could have made it better, but in all, it severs my needs for work and presentations to clients.

And when you put things into perspective, the number of people on here with problems vs the millions of units, you get an extremely small failure rate. Must be << 1.0 E-06, or, in PRA terms, minimal, nice to talk to an engineer for a change

Here is another to add to TheMaxxMann. Did that person have an iphone at one time and did they change to another phone? If so then they need to go into their profile on apple's website and delete the phone from their profile so imessage will not be active anymore.

discussions may sometimes be slow for an hour or so (at which point the opening page of discussions will eventually apologize for the inconvenience, back on line soon...) but your description looks like a cache problem.
Try OnyX freeware to do some cleanup and see if that helps.

Am I the only one having problems with ringer volume since the update?? I'm hard of hearing and before updating to IOS7 I could hear my alarm and ringer just fine. Volume is turned up all the way and I've chosen the loudest sounds I could and still having a difficult time hearing.

Why would you create a new account?
All purchases will be tied to the account from which they were purchased.
You will have to authorize your computer for all the accounts from which music is purchased.

Yes, you would sign out of iTunes & App Store: Settings>iTunes & App Store, click on the Apple ID, click on Sign Out. Then sign back on with the new Apple ID. Also, if you have an iCloud account with the other Apple ID, you would delete that iCloud account, and then sign on with your new ID: Settings>iCloud>Delete Account.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

So now 12 days later and another replacement I'm still having issues and apple still isn't helping. My phone has started shutting off unexpectedly again today. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go from here?

I've had no problem whatsoever with itunes for months, and now out of nowhere it wont show any songs on shuffle even though i have it clicked to my library, it says none are available. Whenever I play songs on a playlist it wont move to the next song, will only play one song and stop. it does this throughout itunes. I tried repairing and reinstalling

You unchecked all the songs.
To the left of the song name is a little box. When you click it, it turns blue and a checkmark appears in it.
iTunes will only "automatically" play songs that are checked.
You can check/uncheck all the songs in your visible list by holding CTRL while checking/unchecking one of them.

I realize this is a support forum, and as such, most people come here looking for help because of some sort of problem. I usually read support forums looking for potential pitfalls that maybe I can avoid by reading others experiences.
Having read all the horror stories, I was expecting all kinds of trouble after installing the new iLife '08. But to my surprise, my existing domain upgraded without a hitch, I made massive changes to my site and it published without even a hicup. And I have made severaly twiks to my site and it has published the changes without one single problem.
I know this does nothing to help those that are having all kinds of nightmares, but I just want to say that there must be others that are having great success with this update.

I am a .mac member. My iWeb 6 site upgraded to iWeb 8 with no problems.
I wasn't asked to find my domain file. iWeb didn't crash, either on the updating of the domain file or on publishing the site once I made a couple of little tweaks. I still have all my comments in my blog. All my photo album pages still have all their photos.
I used only the templates that came with iWeb. My one domain.sites file was in the default location (I did not change the location) The photos in my albums came from iPhoto and from folders not in iPhoto.
My site isn't too large. I have a Welcome, My Albums (12 albums), My Movies (7 movies) and a blog page.
I hope more people post who didn't have any problems. Reading this forum the past week or so, I was scared to even open iWeb 8. Since I had several backups of my domain file, I figured I try and see what happens. It went without a hitch (cross my fingers)

I don't like the latest Firefox. Can I keep the old one without problems?

At work I have v. 3.6.19 and it is asking me to upgrade to 5.0.1. I have a brand-new iMac at home and I installed the newest Firefox just a couple of months ago, so I probably have the 5.0.1. In any case, I don't like the new one's interface. Instead of having separate reload and stop buttons to the LEFT of the url window, there's a single reload/stop button (and it seems smaller than the old ones) attached to the RIGHT of the url window. Since I have a 27" screen on my new computer, it means I have to move the mouse WAY UP TO THE RIGHT to reload a screen, which is hard on my mousing hand. That may sound like nitpicking to you, but I'm finding it to be a problem. Also, the Home button seems to have disappeared. I just don't find the ease of use to be the same as with the one I still have at work. So I guess my question is twofold: 1) can I keep the old version at work and still upgrade the Flash (as it's asking me to do as well)?; and 2) can I put an older version on my iMac at home?
I used to work in software (although not as an engineer), and in my opinion, newer does not always equal better. A case in point, it used to be easier to return to a previous page using the top toolbar, but as the versions change the function seems to be harder to use.

If you are just unhappy with the location of the Home button, you can move it to any toolbar location that you like. [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/how-do-i-customize-toolbars?s This article] will give you all the steps you need to customize the toolbar.
Is that the only reason you want to roll back? If you have other reasons, you should consider [http://input.mozilla.com/en-US/feedback leaving feedback] for the developers so that they can continue to improve the product.
If you still want to roll back to a previous version of Firefox, just take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[Installing a previous version of Firefox]].

Am I the only one who is disappointed with the new operating system?

SSince upgrading to the new system the screen locks, apps occasionally require multiple attempts to open, photos changed to some idiotic display. I went from a fan of Apple with plans to purchase a iPhone and Mac to considering turfing my iPad.

Just start over fresh ... :-) ... it's a good thing to do anyway, problems or not ...

SOLVED: IOS 8 Issues on iPad 2:
I just returned home from a visit to the Genius Bar. Like you and many others, when I upgraded my iPad 2 to IOS 8, it became practically unusable. It was VERY slow, lagged whenever trying to to do anything. Lots of screen freezes and apps spontaneously crashing. I was convinced that the processor on the iPad 2 just couldn't handle the new IOS and I went in to see about restoring to IOS 7.
Thankfully, I was hooked up with a very sharp guy at the bar. The problem is not with the OS, it is with it being an *upgraded* OS. He used the analogy of when you had an older Windows computer and how over time (and over upgrades), they just tended to get slower and slower because of all of the garbage that was carried forward in the upgrades. At those times (and if you've ever had a Windows computer, you get this), the only thing that would speed it up would be to wipe the machine and do a fresh install of the current OS and then reload your apps, and the viola, everything would be fast again. Well, it turns out that IOS can suffer the same problems.
THE FIX: FIRST, be sure you have a current iCloud backup of your device. Connect your iPad to a computer that has a clean fresh copy of IOS 8 on iTunes (this is best done with a computer other than the one that you sync your device to because you DO NOT want to restore it from a back up just yet). Ideally, if you do this at an Apple store you'll be assured of the right version there and someone to answer any questions you might have along the way. You then hold the power and home button down to hard-reset the device and continue to hold them down until it reboots into recovery mode. You then follow the instructions on the computer to reinstall the OS on the device (which wipes everything from it and then reinstalls a clean copy of it). Once this is done (which only takes about 15 minutes), your device will reboot and ask you to set it up. Answer the questions about language, location, etc. and continue until it asks you to log into your iTunes account. Once you do that, it will ask if you want to either 1) Set it up as a new device, 2) Restore from iCloud, or 3) Restore from iTunes. Choose (2), restore from iCloud. This will ensure that it brings down "clean" copies of all of your apps and preferences rather than the potentially corrupted ones that might reside in your iTunes backup. That's it! It will take a few hours depending on how much data and apps you have, but I am happy to report that my iPad 2 is now running IOS 8 and it's running as fast as it ever did when it was brand new!
To sum it up, this process 1) Wipes your device and the garbage causing your problems, 2) Loads a clean and bug-free version of IOS 8 to your device, and 3) restores your apps and data so that it looks just like it did before the wipe, with the exception that it works now! :-)
Note also that by following this process you don't have to go through the painful and laborious process of reloading all of your apps, data and/or settings. iCloud takes care of all of that for you.
