I cannot get Itunes to recognize my Iphone4s, or Ipad 2 after installing IOS7? Says must install Itunes 11.1 So I did that and still no luck. Anyone got any advice???
Version 11.1.5.5 of iTunes was just released today. If you update to that, does that help with the recognition troubles?

Hello:
I have installed Itunes on my new Windows 7 based computer (64 bit) and get the following error message everytime the program opens, "ITunes not properly installed. If you wish to import or burn CD's, you must reinstall ITunes." So, I have removed ITunes, Quick Time and Apple associated software, twice, from my computer and reinstalled the latest version (10.4.1) but get no fix to the problem. ITunes will import CD's but will not burn them with this error in place. Anybody know how to fix this problem?if you have 64bit os this is problem:
Any 64-bit version of Windows is not supported so you should expect certain things not to work. From Apple's iTunes page the Windows requirements are:
32-bit editions of Windows XP or Vista
Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later required for Apple TV or iPhone
500 MHz Pentium class processor or better
QuickTime 7.1.6 or later (included)
256MB RAM
Supported CD-R or DVD-R drive to burn CDs
Broadband Internet connection (DSL/Cable/LAN) for buying and streaming music -
Just installed iTunes 10.4.1 and it wouldn't work. Did a system restore. ITunes will not boot. Computer tells me I must reinstall iTunes. How do I do that?
Thanks, but since iTunes will not boot, I cannot run that iTunes diagnostic. Just need to know how to reinstall iTunes (Windows XP). Do I need to remove the existing non working version of iTunes, or can I just install iTunes from Apple like I was a new user?

When I go into itunes to sync my computer with my iphone I keep getting message that I must download itunes 10.5, so how come I keep downloading it, but it keeps giving me this message and I can't sync?
What version of iTunes are you currently running? To check, in iTunes go "Help > About iTunes" and wait for the version number to scroll up from the bottom of the screen. For example, I see:
iTunes: 10.5.2.11 -

iphone 5 will not sync with itunes stating that I must update itunes to 10.7, itunes tells me it is up to date at 10.6. How can I get my new phone to sync with old computer?
You need to install Mac OS X 10.6, which requires an Intel Mac and at least 1GB RAM.

160 gb iPod Classic says it must use iTunes 9 or later. 120 gb iPod Classic (wifes) is on 8.0 and doing fine. If I install iTunes 9, will both iPods be o.k.? Will any music be lost? THANKS
You can either burn it to a CD or DVD from within iTunes, or back up the entire iTunes library as you would any other folder.

I am using Tiger, 10.4.11 and have an iPod classic 120 gb working fine with about 7 gb of music on it. I just got another iPod classic 160 gb for my wife, and would like to sync it to the same iTunes file, but I got a message which says I must upgrade to iTunes 9.0 or later. If I upgrade to 9.0, will my 120 gb iPod be o.k. with that? Rumor: I have heard that iTunes 9.0 or later changes the format of the music.
Thanks to all for reviewing my question. I am trying to avoid a possible disaster here, having to load about 90 cd's all over again. If anyone knows, could you tell me what will happen if I download iTunes 9.0, and install it. Will it copy all of my music into it, or fail to recognize it, or recognize 8.0 and just upgrade rather than replace it? Thanks again. Tom

Windows XP corruption - Must Reinstall iTunes, New Drive
Briefly:
XP Home Edition became corrupt on failed installs of SP 2.
Must reinstall windows.
As long as I'm at it, I will put in a much bigger new internal Hard Drive for music and photo and data files and keep the old drive for XP and applications only.
How to do this?
First I will shift all data and music files
Next, reformat and wipe the old drive and reinstall -- don't think I can chance just reinstalling windows over the corrupt files.
I got the instructions on how to move the iTunes music library files to a new drive.
My questions are about the iTunes app itself:
1. do I need to deauthorize and uninstall? or
2. can I just wipe the drive and reinstall from CD and update from website w/o deauthorizing and uninstalling first?
Most of my music is from my own CDs, but I have purchased a few albums and tracks from the iTunes store and do not want to lose them.I had to put in a new motherboard and wasn't able to de-authorize that in advance, since the PC wouldn't even boot up.
I was able to deauthorize it twice, after reapir.
And then reauthorize to get my 'authorized PC' count set correctly at one. -
Absolutely MUST move iTunes Library
I see this has been asked before, but I've not found a definitive answer yet for what I need, so please indulge me.
I absolutely MUST MOVE the iTunes Library file OUT of the "My Music" folder. It cannot stay there and I do not WANT it there anyway.
I use iTunes at work, with WinXP, to view PhotoshopTV podcasts as it is directly related to my work. Because I'm on XP AND on a company network, this stupid "My Music" folder gets copied to a company network drive. We've just been informed that the company will not allow any types of 'personal' media files on these network drives. I absolutely MUST MOVE the music library OFF the network drive and, I have to PREVENT it from being re-created there !
I was able to move the CONTENTS of the library to another local drive, but iTunes still insists on putting the Library file in the "My Music" folder.. and it goes back onto that network drive. This is now completley unacceptable. I need to know how I can PERMANENTLY MOVE the iTunes Library files to another local location. I absoutely cannot have it stored in the "My Music" folder any more, it cannot go on that network drive.
There must be a solution. I'm not afraid to make changes to the Registry either, I know how to do that w/o crashing my machine.
Thanks.
doens't matter - DELL junk Windows XP ProFollowing the instructions leads me here:
Open iTunes
Goto Edit,Preferences,Advanced,General,Change iTunes music folder location.
Move your music and make a note of where this is.
Put this location in the iTunes music folder.
