History of my ipod in brief:
Everything was fine and in one summer day, half of the songs started not to play. Then, i put some songs from the ipod back into the hard drive (which i F@%#!ng shouldn't have) and i put it in my freezer for 15 minutes [like somebody on this board had recommended]. Then i restore my ipod (on the ipod updater) and i updated it with the most recent upgrade back 4 months ago. MY IPOD HAS BEEN EMPTY FOR THE LAST 4 MONTHS.
TODAY 11/06/05: I notice when i last saw the ipod i had left it with a fully charged battery. So, i went ahead and plug it to charge because i wanted to finally import songs and start using it again. An hour passed and i felt heat from around the ipod area. I felt the ipod and it WAS SOOO HOT HOT HOT; it even smell like burned plastic. so i quickly removed it. the battery didn't even charge at all.
now the big question of today
W H A T S H O U L D I D O ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Hi ArturoE,
I think you might have a problem with your battery. There are several things that are very bad for Li-Ion batteries, two of which are 1. freezing them and 2. leaving them unused for longer than 1 month. Maybe this combination killed your battery. Here is a description from Apple how to maintain your iPod Li-Ion batteries. You might also have some other problem with your iPod getting so hot. I would definitely stop using the iPod, it sounds like a safety hazard.
If you still have warranty I would contact Apple (better not tell them that you put your iPod in the freezer). If not I would try the iPod battery replacement plan for $65.95.
Hope that helps,
Lars
