I need 4 channels of audio in MXF OP 1a

I am using Premiere CS6.  I am exporting to MXF OP 1A, ticking the 4 channels of audio.  However channels 3 & 4 come out empty.
The broadcastying station needs them full.
I read somewhere else in the forum that you have to enable the master track??? But can't seem to do this.
Can anyone help?

Not sure if your problem has been solved , but Jim seemed have already posted the correct answer. But I still want to post my idea here. I also have some mxf files with multi-track audios. Because I shot them with an external mic. I am nor sure if adobe can keep them well , so I use other app called imixmxf to convert them seperately , then load them into adobe. My camera is Canon , and I plan to go to Sony for my next camera.

  • Help needed with getting Audio signal through to Mac Book Pro (using Logic 9 & Behringer Xenyx 1204USB mixer)

Ok so I am sure I have everything set up correctly,
Logic has recognised and is using the mixer, I have sound coming through the headphones when I put in a drum sample onto audio track, no signal going in from audio using the first channel. Audio channel is set up with correct inputs & outputs. USB setting used on mixer......phantom tried on and off with the condenser mic I am using.....still no luck not even changing from mi to guitar. No signal when recording audio...... AAAHHH HELP! Racking my brains!
    Thank you in advance

Kudos to figuring it out yourself.
Yes, Logic is geared to the professional user, you will need to set up the program to your particular way of working, Logic was well developed for professional use long before Apple purchased it, it's not an Apple program per se. It's complex and offers a myriad number of choices so that it can be configured to many styles of working, there's often 3 or 4 ways to perform the same function.
Logic insists the user educate themselves... which is a good thing.
    Here ya go!

  • Multi channel firewire audio interface

Hello, Is anyone using a multi channel firewire audio interface with a mac mini? eg alesis miltimix?

No issues. You'll probably want to invest in an external 7,200 RPM Firewire drive though since the Mini only has a 5,400 RPM SATA internal drive.
I used it with both TIger and Leopard as well as Logic Express 7.2 and Logic Express 8.
OS X supports it right out of the box so I didn't even need to install additional drivers.

  • "Up Mix" from 2-channel "Stereo" audio content to 5.1/7.1 Surround

    Hello,
This is a feature that I had strongly hoped would make it to Media Center in Windows 8, but didn't.  Please consider this for a future update and/or the next version of Windows...
Feature Request:  "Ability to Configure Stereo Up-Mix Capability in Windows Media Center and/or Windows Media Player from 2-channel Stereo to 5.1/7.1 Surround so Stereo MP3/WMA audio files output to *all* speakers in my system, not just the left and
    right main speakers."
    More information:
My audio content (MP3s, WMAs, etc.) are of course all 2-channel stereo format (left channel, right channel).  My home theater PC outputs to my home theater receiver (which is a 2012-model Sony 5.1/7.1 receiver) via HDMI.  When I play
2-channel music (MP3s, WMAs, etc.) from Windows Media Player (WMP) and Windows Media Center (WMC) both in Windows 7 and Windows 8, I only hear music from the left and right main speakers, *not* the subwoofer not the rear surround speakers.
In order for this to happen, WMP/WMC would need to "up mix" the stereo signal to take full advantage of my physical speaker configuration (as specified in my Windows' Playback Devices configuration, which Windows is able to discern from the capabilities of
my receiver).  Media Center even has an Audio setup in which the end user configures the audio configuration to either Stereo, 5.1, or 7.1 yet music is still output over only two channels!
I would like to see WMC/WMP either "automagically" perform the "up mix" or provide the user with an option to enable/disable it when 2-channel Stereo audio content is played.
Too difficult?  Rhapsody.com already accomplishes this with its online audio player!  Note that my audio equipment has the capability of forcing output to two channels between the PC and the receiver, which my receiver will then up-mix, but this
requires physically maintaining a dip switch and also several button presses on my receiver's remote... and this physical configuration must be updated each and every time I switch between audio and movies.  Too much work when it could be accomplished
    automatically by WMP/WMC!
Thank you for your consideration of this feature request!

The ability of windows to better control audio channel output is definitely an issue that needs to be fixed. It's really basic in this day and age where everyone and there mother has more than two speakers (i.e. 5.1 or 7.1). I understand that certain media
players, or certain decoders/channel mixers can be a workaround for this problem. But that's not enough. Today, we have many different sources for audio that are not just files on a computers:
    1) Video/Movie files on computers (played through media center, MPC-HD or other)
    2) MP3s/audio (played through same)
    But there is also:
HTML5, webpages, Netflix, Amazon TV, Flash players, silverlight, etc. etc.
Hence why windows needs an option at the level of windows audio decoder to better control channel outputs over LPCM-HDMI! Either Mirroring L/R outputs to rear/side speakers, or, formal upmixing algorithms like Dolby Pro Logic etc., applied before
outputting over HDMI (Note I am NOT talking about bitstreaming!)
This is a trivial problem using WASAPI or ASIO. Why has windows audio not been properly updated since Windows XP!!
Recently, HTPCs and Media Centers are becoming many households primary source of entertainment.
    Examples of some issues:
    1) With no bitstreaming at all:
    - Configuring HDMI audio "Playback device" to 5.1/7.1, and,
    - Using a software decoder/media player to decode Dolby Digital, DTS, DTS-True HD, or Dolby True HD, and sending the data in LPCM over HDMI to the receiver/soundbar
-> works totally fine for outputting 5.1/7.1 surround from those sources
-> windows (i.e. software) completely fails in any ability to upmix 2.0 stereo sources to 5.1 or 7.1, or even mirror L/R channels to rear/side L/R channel for more room filling sound. Both these options should be available - upmixing with Dolby or other
for videos and mirroring/doubling the channels for music/MP3s.
Instead, windows audio sends silent channels over LPCM/HDMI when playing a stereo source. This has the added awful effect of not even letting my receiver upmix/mirror the outputs.
Hence, we need the ability to duplicate (for audio) and upmix (for videos) the L/R channels in a stereo source to the Rear L/R and or Side L/R channels through windows audio "playback devices" configuration before outputting over HDMI-LPCM!
In the day and age of 5.1 and 7.1 speakers this seems like such a BASIC feature that is missing.Otherwise, so many of us with an HTPC in our living room as our main source of media can't play music mirrored
through all our speakers, or watch videos with upmixed audio.
HDMI is the new standard, so this should really become an option.
I've done a fair amount of research on this problem, and do not believe there is any solution short of switching to optical (which I do not want to do because it can only carry 5.1) or, buying a fancy receiver instead of a soundbar with discrete rears and
a subwoofer (which I have) to do the mirroring/upmixing for me.

  • 4 Channels of Audio on DV Tape

I have 4 channels of audio recorded on Canon XL2 camera, I can only import 2 channels with the video into Premiere, how can I get the other two channels?
    Any help
    Luke

It seems I have do in a 3rd party software, I used to use a Matrox RT 100 capture card which worked well with 4 channels of audio, but this card won't work in CS5 like it used to in CS3 as I used to capture through the card into Premiere.
    Need it to work tomorrow!!
Still looking for a quick way of doing it , without having to buy more programs then have to import it from that into Premiere
You think adobe would have got this to work!

  • Audio Volume Sliders for multiple channels of audio

I don't even know if this is possible, but I was wondering if
there was any way you can set up volume sliders to control multiple
channels of audio. For a project I'm working on I am going to have
background audio and comentary. I want the user to be able to
adjust the volume of both the background audio and the comentary.
Is there any was I can make seperate sliders for each of those
    tracks of audio?
    Thanks!

    you can not.
the only workaround i can think of would be to create a volume curve on one track, and then duplicate that track as many times as needed, and drag the regions of your other tracks into these duplicated tracks.

  • How Do I Output 4-Channel Discreet Audio?

Is there a way to output 4-channel discreet audio in FCP? We want channels 1&2 to be stereo and channels 3&4 to be mono.
    Anybody???
    thanks

well the first place to start, if you haven't done so already, is to set your project up with the output settings you are wanting to get.
with your sequence active, go to Sequence menu > Settings... then select the Audio Outputs tab in the settings window
you'll need to select 4 audio outputs with the channel grouping of the first pair set as stereo and the second pair as dual mono
you assign individual tracks in your sequence to the audio outputs by right clicking in the track on or around the track lock icon / autoselect icon, and selecting Audio Outputs from the context menu and then target track from its submenu
you may need to simply double up your tracks if you are trying to create both a stereo and mono copy of the same audio within the same timeline as FCP does use have a powerful enough patch bay paradigm for this purpose

  • How Can I produce a Pro_Res files with 5.1 (6 channels of audio)

I need to screen a feature film in a digital Theater and I want to make sure the Dolby Digital Mix is heard the way the film was mixed and not the way FCP does a 2 channel mix down.
I have the timeline setup with the 6 channels but when I go to export the file to deliver one QT to the exhibitor, it won't let me export the 5.1 mix.
I've read several post, Exported the file with Compressor but when I check the channels my audio was not exported the right way.
    Any ideas?

there is this tutorial online @ Creative Cow from Shane Ross:
    http://library.creativecow.net/articles/ross_shane/multi-audio/video-tutorial
Are they screening from the QT or from tape?

  • I have video clips with 4 channels of audio, I can only hear audio recorded on channel one, how do I hear the other channels......?

I have video clips with 4 channels of audio, I can only hear audio recorded on channel one, how do I hear the other channels......?

What version of Premiere Elements and on what computer operating system?     Elements 13 on Windows 7
What is the brand/model/settings of the camera that recorded these videos?        ony  PMW 320
When you import them into your Premiere Elements project, what does Premiere Elements Properties for that import give for
the audio description in the way of number of channels? If you open the Audio Meter (Window Menu/Audio Meters) and you play back
the video in the Premiere Elements Editor, how many channels does the Audio Meter display?
I just drag and drop video and when playing back only channel 1 will appear
What is your intended export for this video in terms of audio as well as video compression and formats?    MP4
I think you can only use audio if it's recorded on channel 1 or it does not recognize it.

  • How do I get the Apple tv to play out of my Bose speakers that has the typical white and red plug ins?  Do I need an "optical audio" cord (that is what is available as a plug in on the back of the Apple tv that has the red and the white on the other side?

How do I get my speakers to play the Apple TV?  My TV is recognizing the Apple TV and the sound is playing out of the TV speakers, but even though I plug my speakers into my TV, it does not play what the TV speakers are playing.  Do I have to plg the speakers into the actual Apple TV unit?  If so, do I need an "optical audio" plug in?

appletv play audio out of optical out of hdmi and the old alu one play out the RCA too
the typical the white and red plug ins would be RCA if you have a atv2 (the black one) you cant use
RCA as that is analog and optical and hdmi are digital
you can get converters but some would be pricy and could cause delay between image and pictures for video

  • I need to have audio out from HDMI and headphone jack simultaneously

I need to have audio out from HDMI and headphone jack simultaneously.
I seem to be able to select one or the other, but not both ? !
    Thanks

No. You can only use one sound output:
Why can't I select HDMI audio on my Mac mini?
If you connect an HDMI display or television to a Mac mini (Mid 2010 or later), you might not be able to select the HDMI audio device (in System Preferences > Sound > Output). This can happen if you also have headphones plugged in to the computer. Unplug the headphones to be able to select HDMI audio.

  • Macbook Pro need to port audio out from Firewire or Thunderbolt

I need an additional audio out port (in addition to the headphone jack).
This needs to be analog (going to my sound system / RCA) and it appears I need adaptors that will use the Thunderbolt connector, but something that uses Firewire would be ok too.

  • Home Theater need. Multiple Audio Streams from 1 card or possible to use 2 car

I currently have 2 SB Li've's installed and a SB Audigy in the box.
I would like to be able to send different audio out to different devices. I need to send audio from a game interface called MAME 32 to a speaker system connected to the PC. I also use this PC as a home theater PC and want to send audio from my DVD playing software out to my TV(in analog stereo mode) and/or to my receiver(in Dolby Digital mode using the digital connector).
I would like to be able to run these seperatly without having to go into the Control Panel and switch the default sound card like I am doing now. I do not need to run them at the same time.

Bummer. Are you guys working on something that might have this capability? Seems to me that the closer we integrate PC's into our entertainment systems the more need we will have for the ability to do multiple audio streams, i.e. MP3's to the living room. DVD movie audio to the family room, XM radio classical station to the kitchen for mom etc..
Intel is offering this as an onboard solution that has the ability to do at least 2 different streams.

  • Multi-Channel output audio from Quick Time (or iTunes)

    Hello all,
I am trying to get multi-channel AC3 audio output from QT and can only get two channel stereo. I have seen lots of related posts but can't quite get it.
I am trying to configure a Mac Mini to output properly via the TOS link port to my audio system. I get surround sound fine playing a DVD but not when playing a .m4v file that does give me surround sound when played on my Apple TV.
    Should this be possible?

I appreciate the link Brent! I also had someone point me here http://fplanque.com/dev/mac/ac3-ac-3-5-1-surrond-sound-apple-mac-osx and all is good now.
    Thanks!

Luckily, there are DOZENS of video/media players and extensions avaliable for the Mac. Many of them are FREE, some of the better FREE ones are...
    PERIAN (quicktime extension)
    http://perian.org/
    QUICKTIME 7.6.6
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL923
    VLC media player

    NICEPLAYER

And if none of those work, there is a possibility that those video files may be corrupted.
