I need a book

Hi,
I am looking for a book .
the book should explain , how to integrate adobe flex and j2ee application.
adobe flex mostly talks about writing code in MXML and Actionscripts which is ok .......the flex application does most of the business logic on the page itself and makes a html (via flash) .....whereas i want the things to be done in the J2EE serverside .
I dont know , how to integrate Flex and J2ee ?
Any book , resource is welcome.
searched amazon , google but did not find anything which could realize my dream.
Flex is compatible with J2ee.....but How ?
Please provide some resources .
Thanks
null

for example , I have a book ..
which has these chapters....
Introducing Adobe Flex 2
Working with MXML in Adobe Flex 2
Working with ActionScript in Adobe Flex 2
Nowhere , in this book ...integration with J2EE application has been described .
can we really use it for J2EE application ? or I am chasing in wrong direction ?

Here is an article from Adobe:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/exporting-publishing-pdf.html
Export an open document to PDF for printing
    Choose File > Export.
Specify a name and location for the file.
For Save As Type (Windows) or Format (Mac OS), choose Adobe PDF (Print), and then click Save.
When you select the Adobe PDF (Print) option, you cannot include interactive elements in the PDF. To export an interactive document to PDF, see Create interactive documents for PDF.
    Do one of the following:
To use a predefined set of job options, choose a preset from the Adobe PDF Preset menu.To create a PDF/X file, either choose a PDF/X preset from the Adobe PDF Preset menu, or choose a predefined PDF/X format from the Standard menu.To customize options, select a category from the list on the left and then set the options.
For Compatibility, choose the lowest PDF version necessary to open the files you create.
Click Export (Windows) or Save (Mac OS).

  • Need to book & pay outward freight before Receipt of FG - Subcontracting

    Dear All,
" In case of Subcontracting, we are required to pay both, Outward Freight on material sent to Party for Job Work & Inward Freight on Material received from the party. While raising PO, the Freight amount is considered to include both Inward & Outward Freight but only single Freight GRN is prepared on receipt of Material. Unless GRN is prepared we are unable to book Outward Freight Bill in SAP thru MIRO & process payment."
We need to book & pay the outward freight before GRN( Receipt of FG) and load the freight cost on Material.
    Regards,
    PKSharma

    Hi,
If I book the Outward Freight through MIRO before GRN system will not load the correct amount on Material as at the time of
GRN we have to book Inward Freight cost also.
    Thanks

  • Beginner in need of book recommendation

I'm a beginner to CS3 Flash and in need of book or tutorial
recommendations. I have the Flash "Classroom in a Book" and it's
been somewhat helpful. However, a lot of what I want to do, is
import parts of a collage print from CS3 photoshop and animate
them. I am having problems with importing layers from Photoshop and
animating these layers in Flash. Are there any books or tutorials
that go into more detail on this aspect of flash? The other book
that I'm thinking about is Peachpit's Adobe Flash CS3 Professional
    Hands-On Training. Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Lou

I don't have any previous web design experience and am learning as
I go. I am happy with the site layout and the way it works, but all
of the text is in jpeg form, which means search engines are limited
to the page titles. Is there a way to keep the layout but make the
text searchable by the engines? Does the question make sense? Any
    help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, the question makes perfect sense.
Fireworks is a graphics program. The HTML that Fireworks
produces is intended for prototypes - quick examples you can show
people to see if you're on the right track with a design. The
Fireworks HTML is not robust enough to use for a production site.
What you want to do is use either a program that's designed for
creating robust HTML (such as Dreamweaver) or learn to write HTML
by hand in a text editor. It isn't really that hard.
What you have now is a mess. It would be impossible to
maintain. Just looking at your file info%20links.HTML is a
nightmare. It doesn't need to look like that...and it shouldn't.
(Also, naming conventions. That %20 is what happens to spaces in
your file name. It's better to remove spaces or use hyphens
instead. Underscores are okay, but they tend to get lost if a file
name is also a link and becomes underlined. Use lowercase for file
    extensions.)
Even if you have Dreamweaver or another Web authoring
program, you really ought to learn what it is you're doing. Check
    out
    this
    earlier thread for some recommendations.
    Good luck!

  • I Need a Book Recommendation

    Hi
I am going to be building 2D games foe the for seeable future. Games like Bed Bugs, Flight Control, Rolando etc are how I would build them using 2D. So if anybody knows any good books specifically dedicated to iPhone game programming, much would be appreciated.
Like I say, I have found many books. but they seem to emphasize 3D. Should I be simply looking at using 2D Quartz?
    Unsure.

    yes.
I am hoping some one can really tell me, what and where I can and know how to use what platform for simple, seamless 2D (like south park, flight control, shift).
    I can understand this,
making a class in xCode. with in it, a UIView which is our character. Say he needs two frames/cells of drawings/images to look like he is running. I could create a function which switched back and forth on the touch of a connected button. That much I understand, but if I want to move him, across plain X, what do i do?
Use 2d Quartz, Open GL, or is it just code like I am suggesting.
Am I missing something about animations and XCode Cocoa apps?

  • Help. Need iPhoto Book Specs / Anyone who has order a book or knows?

I'm getting ready to scan my color photos and then place an order for a iPhoto book. I'll set my scanner to decrease or enlarge (75%..100%.. 200%) for whatever size I need. I need to know the specs the photos should be scanned at for max quality and / or the order requirements.
300 DPI CMYK TIFF? (regular offset printer specs)
    72 DPI RGB JPEG?
    Or other?
Does it matter if it's a TIFF or JPEG? Tiff's can be uncompressed so perhaps better quality, but larger file size to send when ordering a book.
Is there a max about of total megs the book can be or not be for it to be accepted when ordering? Is there a max meg size that I need to stay under for each image?
I'm not looking for a long theory on dpi and ppi, I know all that, just need to know the requirments for these iPhoto books. I'm almost certain it's the first, offset printer specs. Just want to double check before I scan.
    Thanks.

Yes. 300 DPI is the standard for printing on an offset press. So is CMYK. I'm positive the printing company that Apple is using is converting the .pdf files to a CMYK profile that matches their printing press. This is the only way for them to make the 4 color plates. If you look at an sRGB image on screen it may look great but when printed in CMYK, as the books are printed, it might look darker.
    See this Apple help:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93298%22
To test this, open an sRGB image in PS and go Image > Mode > Convert to profile. Select US Sheet Fed Coated or US Web Coated. You can see how the color shifts. Usually CMYK is darker than RGB. Dark details in an RGB image that looks acceptable can get muddy when printed on an offset printing press in CMYK.
From what I've learned in graphic arts, printers suggest if you're concerned about color shifting, then do the image correction in CMYK and placing images in your document in CMYK. That way you have a better representation of what the final image will look like once it's printed. (aside monitor calibration) This is the standard procedure that I'm familiar with when working with images that will be printed in brochures and catalogs and so on.
    Questions:
How did you find out that the images MUST be sRGB?
What would happen if you used a corrected CMYK image?
Did you compare your actual sRGB image to the final printed book and see if there was a color shift?
The reason for my concern is that I have some old photos that have bad shadow detail and color shifted with age. In sRGB they look okay but when they get printed on the CMYK press I'm concerned they might get muddy in dark areas. This is why I wanted to correct them in CMYK, get them to look good, then place them in the book.
    Comments?

  • Noob Question 1: I -Definitely- Need A Book!

    Hi,
I'm fairly new to the 'video' world (I've been a music mixer for many years). I've been getting a bit dangerous with Premiere for a few months and I'm hitting some areas that I -know- would be a good fit for AE, but frankly? Me scared.
AE just seems -too- alien and the tutorials I've seen on-line are for stuff that I either don't care about or is simply too complex for an ADHD noob.
I tried importing a few Premiere projects and -that- is a disaster. fer sure. Whoever built the 'import' code, needs a refresher course.
So... can someone recommend an old-school COOKBOOK style -book- on AE? Like a 'AE FOR DUMMIES' (which ain't been written--I checked.)
I want something I can read in bed and get the -concepts- down with some -simple- projects to explain each basic deal.
    Thanks,
    ---JC

The After Effects Classroom in a Book and Chris and Trish Meyer's After Effects Apprentice are excellent books for beginners. There are links to sample chapters from both of these books on the "General workflow in After Effects" page of After Effects Help.

  • Need tech-book style book to learn Netbeans 6.5 with Javafx

I am having a heck of a time geting started with Netbeans 6.5 JavaFx. Everytime I download code into my IDE I get all types of errors that I can't overcome. I have recently completed a text book course in Java by Lewis and Loftus. The book starts with the basics and work up. Most of the tutorials that I find on JavaFX start with huge amounts of code which is very confusing to people trying to learn this terminology. Can anybody direct me to a tech-book style book on Netbeans 6.5 with JavaFX or is it too early for such a book.

Any tutorial about JavaFX dated prior to December 8 2008 should be disregarded utterly by a beginner.
There are significant differences and trying to figure them out from old tutorials is futile!
Books are coming, search Amazon, there is a title by Weiqi Gao or James Weaver (Jim Weaver).

  • New to jsp, need good book to read

hey all, other than the java pages, where would be some good info on properly setting a tomcat server and the j2ee sdk?
i will also be requiring a book to read about jsp, so if anyone can find anything good, please let me know.

    Also you could go to
    http://www.manning.com/catalog/index.php
and pick out an eBook for yourself at 1/3 the price of a hard copy.
I wouldn't reccomend reading through free introduction courses you download off the net, you'll be going back and forward and basically going no where. Pick your self 1 or 2 books off this site and your on yur way.

  • Need good book for ...

I'm looking for a good book that talks about the structure of a database at the filesystem level. Information about which files are used to do what. Many beginner books I see try to explain databases from the inside while many advanced books are over my head technically based on my current knowledge of databases. I'm not trying to build/design one, just manipulate, backup, maintain one that's already there.

  • Urgent HELP needed: Address Book will not start, just spinning wheel.

When I want to start the Address Book I just get the spinning wheel without end.
If I press: Command-Option-Esc to force-quit the application I am informed that the Address Book is not responding; I can only force-quit the application.
Since my AB data is also on MobileMe and another computer, I could, if necessary, delete whatever data files (and repopulate later). But how do I get Address Book working again?
Your help is highly appreciated. Thanks, Veit

Thanks, Roam, for the referral to Pacifist; sounds useful in the future.
I could solve my problem by:
    - deleting the com.apple.AddressBook.plist file
    - resetting the synchronization files as described in http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10868689&#10868689
    - and finally syncing with MobileMe, i.e. overwriting the computer with data from MobileMe.
All seems to work again, also the resizing. Thanks again for your help. Cheers, Veit
