I need a driver for HP Deskjet 882C for Windows 7 64 Bit

Although Windows 7 does not officially support an old printer like HP deskjet 882C, is there some driver which would work for black and white printing?

The Deskjet 882c is supported in Windows 7, install the driver as described here.

  • Driver for Hp deskjet 1280 for Windows 7 x64, SP1

I can't find any way to install the driver for my Hp deskjet 1280, printer, not on the site, not in the instalation wizard, anyhwere, I saw on other forums that there were some tips; like using the Hp Deskjet 1220(c) driver from the instalation wizard in Windows, which is compatible with the 1280 printer, but there is no Hp Deskjet 1220(c) driver, only other models of Deskjet, which I have tried and they don't work with this printer. I hope you can help me.
    Thank you

    HI Slim2,
I am sorry to say, there is no driver or full feature software for the Deskjet 540 for Windows 7. The only available driver is for Windows XP. You may consider getting a newer printer. I would suggest you call HP. HP might be able to offer you a discount on a newer model.

  • In need of Printer drivers for HP Deskjet 930C for Windows 7 32 bit Enterprise?

Have been Online in HP support and folllowed all steps and that didnt work.  Called HP rep and that didn't work.  Hp still sell the cartridges, so not sure why I can't get drivers for my printer.

You may need to talk to your system administrator.  Many IT departments restrict what drivers or devices can be added by standard users.
If the driver is not available try the following:  Start, Devices and Printers, Add a Printer, Local Printer, LPT1: (for now, will address this later), Next, Windows Update and wait for the list to repopulate.  This will take a few minutes, but at this time the Deskjet 930/932/935 should be available under manufacturer HP (not Hewlett-Packard).  At this point hit cancel, then connect the printer's USB and it should be installed automatically.
You could also download the driver from the Microsoft Catalog site.  You will need to use IE for this, other browsers are not supported.  The driver you will want for a 32 bit system is the one 11.4Mb in size.

  • Default printer settings for HP Deskjet 882c

All I want to do is set this printer to print in black and white by default. If I wanted color, I would use my other printer ... I want faster than a snails pace so I brought this one back out.
Being a PC for my entire life, this should be an easy thing to set the default print settings on the printer. I don't see them!
What I am printing is emails off hotmail ... tons of them ... going back months ... so please don't ask me to add an additional step here ...
Pulling my hair out here ... help would be lovely!

You are on the right track for sure. The claim code is in fact printed in blue, so if your color inks are low or empty it will not show up.
I noticed there are 2 version of the 6500A, I will go under the assumption that you do not have the 'Plus' version since you didn't specify this, shouldn't be a big discrepancy either way (let me know if I am wrong).
Viewing your ink levels is covered here, your Cyan ink cartridge could be empty : http://goo.gl/RjIhbp
You can still find the claim code on the front panel of your printer without color ink. Go back to web services on your printers display and it will show your "*@hpeprint.com" email address. The prefix before the "@" is in fact your code.
Also note that your code has most likely expired, which happens after 24 hours of being generated. Not a big deal. If your code has expired you will have to reset the web services in your printer, this will generate a new printer code. You can do this easily from the front panel of your printer.
Follow this link and expand the section “What if I lose my printer code before registering?” under “Frequently asked questions (FAQs)”
    http://goo.gl/0WUyIe
(*a note on step 4, some firmware updates may have simplified this entire step to be simply “remove web services”)
After enabling the web services again the printer code area will still be blank if you are out of cyan ink.
Regardless the new code will display on the front panel (under web services).
I hope this gets you going with ePrint. Let me know if you are having issues printing in color beyond this, or if you are still experiencing difficulties with ePrint.

How do I get a printer driver on my computer that uses Windows 8.  It is a HP Deskjet 1220C

The Deskjet 1220 driver was written by HP and is supplied through Windows Update.  AFAIK it has been available since Windows 8 was originally released.

  • Need a driver for HP 895Cse for windows 7

I have an HP 895 Cse printer. Yes it is an old printer but supper dependable and don't want to have to buy another. I have a desktop that has Win7 Home Premium 64-bit on it and I can install this printer on there. It will not install itself so I need a driver. I can go to drivers on the HP site but there isn't one listed for this version of Win7. I don't understand why I can't find one because I have a laptop with Win7 with the same operation system and the printer work on it fine. I really would appreciate some help with this. Is there a way to find the drive on my laptop and copy it? Thanks

The driver is delivered through Windows Update.  There are a few things to try:  start with the document here (the Deskjet 895cse and cxi use the same driver).   If that does not resolve the issue the driver install wizard available from http://www.hp.com/go/tools may resolve the issue.
If the above do not help then try the following:  click Start, Devices and Printers, Add a Printer, local printer, LPt1: (as a placeholder), Next, Windows Update and wait for the list to repopulate (this may take a few minutes).  Once the list reappears click HP (not Hewlett-Packard) for the manufacturer and select the HP Deskjet 895cse driver, Next, Cancel.  At this point you should be able to connect the USB cable and have the system automatically install the driver on the proper post.
If all the above fail (not likely) then post the details back here along with any error messages.  It is also possible to download the driver normally delivered through Windows Update from the Microsoft Catalog site, but the steps are rather involved and I would rather not write them up unless needed.

  • Just got Prosoft drive genius 3 software, and it's telling me that the external hard drive that i am using for my time machine back up drive needs to be defragmented.  is it wise to do this or should i not??

just got Prosoft drive genius 3 software, and it's telling me that the external hard drive that i am using for my time machine back up drive needs to be defragmented.  is it wise to do this or should i not??

Let's hope a couple things: that you have bootable clones of your drives also; that the backup drive for TimeMachine has over 3x capacity of the data you plan and are storing. I would also switch TM backup drives so you have a 2nd.
Fragmented free space affecting performance happens when the drive is too full which may mean there isn't enough free space for a full backup set.
1.5TB for backing up 500GB, while WD Green 3TB is $140 and WD Black 1.5TB is, about the same price.
I'd be worried about the integrity and directory, and whether you can afford to lose that drive. Defragging is also a very slow operation. the ideal: to just clone a drive, or start over with another drive and wait. cloning TM volumes has not been done or has it? SuperDuper hoped to but I don't think they or Bombich's CCC made it there.
Trouble with highly fragged is when free space gets to 20% normally, 1/3 or so though for TM volumes, and finding where and a chunk of space for the file being written. Does TM use large spare image files of like 2GB?
Best would be to ask in the TimeMachine section Snow Leopard
    https://discussions.apple.com/community/mac_os/mac_os_x_v10.6_snow_leopard?view= discussions#/?tagSet=1009
where there are some good FAQ and tutorials, and people that know the ins-and-outs and shortcomings.

  • Do I need to keep my external hard drive connected at all times for time capsule?

Do I need to keep my external hard drive connected at all times for time capsule?

    Hi,
I have a similar question. I have backed up my external hard drive through my computer, onto my TC. When I go into TM, it doesn't show the external hard drive unless it is connected to the computer. Can I access the info from the external hard drive that is on the TC if I don't have the hard drive plugged in? If so, how can I do that?
    Thanks,

  • I can't connect my canon mp160 to my new apple iMac desktop. It just won't print although it comes up as the printer. there is no driver for this from canon who states that I probably don't need a driver for this

I can't connect my canon xp160 to my new IMAC. It does recognize it but won't print. there is no driver for this as per Canon and they state that I may not need one. thanks!1

If you want to print, then you will need a printer driver. There is no printer driver available from Apple for the MP160. And the last driver that Canon released for this model was for OS X 10.7. You may be able to install this 10.7 driver, although it is not digitally signed so Gatekeeper will block the installation. To get past Gatekeeper, you can hold down the Control key and click on the installer. A pop-up menu will appear. Select Open. You will then be given the option to install the old driver.
With the driver installed, add the printer via Printers & Scanners and see if you can print.
