I need a fix for downloads on Mac. Currently only downloading .part files and can't find the problem.
I am struggeling to download files in any format (i.e. pdf, dmg etc.). It deosn't bring up the download list anymore and in finder under downloads, it has the following suffix eg. xxx.pdf.part. The file size is usually 0 bites. Any advice?
Another comment on this forum back in 2009 suggests donloading applejack. This did not seem to fix the problem and the latest version only indicates support up to Leopard. I am currently running Lion... so a little nervous downloading this.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated, since I am highly dependent on this facility for my studies and other activities!!
The first step is to disable or remove that download manager entirely. That in itself is a likely cause of your problem.
The following can be tried in any order:
— disable all the other extensions in your browsers and try again.
— are you running any AV software or using Little Snitch? If so, disable those. You'll probably also have to kill those in Activity monitor, as both run background helper processes that run when the main app isn't and can interfere with network connections.
— look in your Login Items in
> System Preferences > Users & Groups | Login Items
and remove any 3rd party apps that are there. Restart the computer and test again.
If you've tried all those and still have the problem, report back.

I need to install software on a computer without a dvd drive. Where can I find the download for the student edition?
Perhaps you can copy it using a different computer, from the disk to a USB key.
However, external DVD drives are cheap and in my view essential. -
I have a non intel G5 and would like to download i-tune songs that I have recently purchased. I have tried everything and can't find the downloads. Did this G5 just become obsolete with itunes? If not what is the problem?
You can do it with Leopard but it depends upon the iTunes version which you did not reveal. Also make sure you are looking in the right place for purchases.
Consider buying a backup drive so you do not need to do this again. If you are going to run old hardware and software you need to live differently because yes, at some time you will find your version of iTunes no longer works. You're lucky it still works with Leopard. As you can see, some versions still work with the iTunes Store but not for repeat downloading.

After reinstalling CS6 the bridge photo downloader isn't able to read raw files and fails to convert the raw files to DNG. Previously downloaded raw files, now DNG, open up successfully in Camera Raw 7. How do I get the photo downloader to read and convert raw files. MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard. No such problem before this reinstallation.
You should install Camera Raw 4.6.

You used to be able to view them on your computer in your I tunes library under rented and choose the option to watch on computer or stream to your Apple TV. I too have the problem and can't find the film I downloaded which incidentally took 33 hours!

HT3281 I downloaded an audio podcast on iPad2 using iTunes and can't find it
I've used iTunes on Mac, on PC on iPhone. I downloaded a single episode of an audio podcast over wifi on my new iPad2 using iTunes. progress bar finished but there is no obvious place to tap to play the file and in fact I can't find the file to play it. Podcast icon at the bottom of the home screen on iTunes just leads me to the main page of featured Podcasts. I can't find my way to my Library or this particular file that I just downloaded.
Can someone help an iPad newbie find a single audio podcast file that I just downloaded? Where did iTunes put it?? Not in music, not in podcasts not in audiobooks. It's all "featured" and "charts" and if I go to "Downloads" there is a single link to "ITunes Store Terms and Conditions" . ***.
This is so non-intuitive and honestly coloring my new iPad experience very poorly. Why Apple makes the layout and interface so different on devices is part of my problem but not my question. I listen to a lot of Podcasts and wanted it to be an easy to version of iTunes like I'm used to on my Mac and PC. Why is it so crazily different looking? So frustrating as I evaluate whether I keep this gaget.

That is exactly where you go to watch a video podcast. Since that thought struck you after I told you where the audio podcasts are - doesn't it seem to make sense to you? Audio in the Music app - Video content in the Videos app?
New users want to play their music and videos in iTunes on the iPad because that is where they play that content on their computers. That's a natural assumption and that is where the confusion starts. iTunes on the iPad is simply a link to the store - not the media player like it is on the computer.
After two years of using iDevices every day, I am used to the way that they work - but I tend to agree that knowing how iTunes, the Music App and the Videos app work - is not the most intuitive design for a lot of new Apple device users.
And to top it all off - The iPad keeps changing with every new iOS release. In the previous iOS - the Music App was the iPod app. When it changed to the Music App, it confused new users even more.
There is a free iPad user guide book available in the iBook Store that is a fairly comprehensive manual. It is certainly worth downloading. Honestly, I have picked up tons of knowledge on this support site, by fumbling and fooling with the device by myself, and by relying on one of my best friends - Google! -

I've resorted to running Safari when downloading anything. I really would like to remain with Firefox, but I can't figure anything out. I recently upgraded to 10.5 (Leopard) and that's when the downloading issues started.
In addition my default location to download files was the desktop, after the OS upgrade, Firefox will not even allow me to choose the desktop to download to.Has nobody got any suggestions?

My bookmarks and my history don't save - I have a Mac and can't find the solution for Mac
The same problem I've seen in other forums, but the solution is always for PC and not Mac. My bookmarks don't save (or when I try to save a new one in the toolbar, everything that comes after it disappears) and history just doesn't work.

I have set my homepage to ATT but the toolbar and my previous bookmark list is missing. I can't pull up the toolbar. I have read the troubleshooting page but it does not give me an answer. I need my toolbar. I am not sure that I like this new upgrade with firefox. What am I doing wrong? I have configured my Norton 360 to allow Firefox but it has not helped. Thank you for your help!
There is a OneClickdigital ereader available in the App Store. Download that to your iPod to read pdfs and books from the library. And you might need to download the OneClickdigital eaudio player to listen to audiobooks from the library. Once both are downloaded sync you iPod again to transfer them.

They were downloaded from a website as 3 parts of a single video and now I can't find a way to combine or open them.
Can you help me?The problem is the three downloaded (.part) files are each part of a single video.
I believe that the files are complete in themselves, but need to be joined together to make the complete video

The first problem is because your "for" loop has no "while" condition in it:
for(Node p = head.next; ; p = p.next)...
Therefor, the only way out of the loop is via break, return, or exception. In your case, you don't "break" out of the loop, so there's no way it can get to this statement.
The second problem, you didn't cover all cases to set "p", so it won't let you return an un-initialized value.
