I NEED A FREAK'EN SOUND DRI

I just got a 8400 and a bunch of files got corrupt on the hard dri've... *sigh* I had to take it to a local computer store... RAM TECHNOLOGIES to have them repair it because I don't have the necessary discs because they're at another location. They got everything working again except for the SOUND. Apparently they could not find the necessary driver on the DELL WEB SITE. I don't know why this is... I thought dell was suppose to have all the drivers on the site? Can anyone help me?

This also confuses me... In my invoice it says that I have a "Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit ADVANCED HD Audio, 00dB/DolbyDigital/96KHz/7.

This might sound obvious, but since I didn't see it in the original post I'll mention it here, but have you tried Dell's website? Normally for manufacturers, all you would have to do in input the machine model and the drivers for that make and model would be given.

Mavericks often needs new drivers.. did you check the brother website for new drivers for 10.9.
Delete all the previous references to this printer.. and any other printer if they no exist.
Try and load again the new printer according to the Mavericks instructions.. this is actually nothing to do with the TC.. since the printer is network and using wireless or ethernet (not USB!!). Then the TC it is simply another client.

Niels approach to get the BootCamp Assistant back is recommended because usually the correct way to remove your Windows partition is to use the BootCamp Assistant again which should give you the option to remove the made Windows partition and revert back to one OSX volume.
After that's done a reboot of your Mac might be advisable.
Only if that's not working (whatever the reason) :
1) boot your Mac from your OSX install DVD
2) choose your language and then 'ignore' (cancel) the installation
3) from the Top Menu (Utilities) start Disk Utility (DU)
4) in DU click on your harddisk (not any partition) in the left pane (the first item listed)
5) in the right pane use the 'Partition'-Tab
6) click to highlight on the ex-Windows partition you want to delete
7) click on the small '-' Button at the bottom
That should delete your former Windows partition
After that's done successfully
8) Drag the partition separator line until it encompasses the entire drive and then select apply.
9) Quit Disk Utility
10) reboot your Mac from your harddisk.
Since you are 'fumbling' with your OSX partition you should consider having/making a backup of it before trying the a.m. procedure. Just in case.

If you don't already know enough about Flash's capabilities to answer this then you might want to consider an alternate solution, although the level of customization will be limited. The publishing portion of the application family can easily produce ebooks:

That's about as drag and drop as you can get for your basic needs.
If you need deep customization at the same time then Flash is perfectly good at this kind of thing, but there is no "easy button" that will do it all for you. There are many flipbook creation services (similar to the digital publishing route), but since you want RSS feeds, controls, sound, etc you may find the result isn't as complicated as you need.
I'd suggest just using Flash, getting a page roll effect plugin and creating your book by hand, giving you the full coding power of Flash to perform all your tasks. Some of them, like basic page flipping, you can find project source code for (page clipping example).

I am trying to watch a tv show that I purchased into I-tunes. I have the cable and it hooks to the TV okay. The TV shows the regular apple screen that looks like the universe screen - like when it boots up or is doing an upgrade on the OS. I can't get the image to go from the laptop to the TV. I tried under displays and it shows the TV as a display but I can't get the image on the TV.......Please help.

MacBook need to add output sound

Hi I have an Macbook 10.4.10 and the output is not working. In the System preferences, the device is digital out...Built-in output. But it says the selected output has no out put controls. What is up? I have no sound and the volume control will not work at the top of monitor or on volume bottons.

No. The system discs that shipped with your iMac will only work on that model of iMac and will not install on your sister's MacBook.
However, she can do one of two things: 1, call AppleCare and request replacement system discs (she will need her Mac's serial number) or 2, buy Snow Leopard for herself and install it on her new hard drive. If she does 2, she will need to purchase the iLife applications (iPhoto, etc.) separately, so I recommend 1.

Need some help with sound quality

Hi guys, new here. I'm working on creating an album on my own. Bass and vocals are real, everything else is using software instruments. I have about 8 songs done, but the problem is I don't really know what I'm doing as far as recording and levels go.
I'm using studio headphones and everything sounds fantastic through them, and even pretty good if I just hook up some earbuds, but when I bounce out a track and burn them to do a disc and play it in my car, it sounds awful. Suddenly the guitar is too low, drums are too loud.
I really need some help here. I'm even willing to pay someone to get me on the right track. Using paypal or whatever.

I don't think it's helpful to make generalizations about what type of experience the OP might have in getting professional help. I have had good experiences working with mixing engineers, and perhaps I have just been lucky, but I've been able to produce music that sounded how I wanted it to sound, but at a level beyond which my skill at the time would have been able to produce, AND I gained some insights to help me in the future.
It IS satisfying to teach yourself a new skill. And it takes a lot of patience, trial and error, and you might miss the mark more often than you hit it. If you're in a rush, it might be a viable solution to contact some studios and see if you can work with them. Learning from others is perfectly acceptable.

just bought a 30 GB ipod, updated itunes to make the videos compatible. uploaded 3 music videos, they work perfect except they have no sound. dont know what the problem is. i havent' restarted my compute yet, maybe that's it but i highly doubt it. anyones opinion would be highly appreciated. thanks for your help guys.

Neither Quicktime Pro or iTunes have the ability to successfully encode a muxed video file with audio. You'll end up with video and no audio.
You'll need to use some other third-party software to do the conversion. There's a handful of software available. Just search the forums and you'll find many titles mentioned.
Videora iPod Converter seems to be popular amongst Windows users, although I've read that you might get mixed results using it.

Need a 5.1 Sound Card to run with my Logitech Z-5500 speaker sys

I have got the Logitech Z-5500 Digital 5. Speaker System.
I would like to purchase a sound card to run with the system but was unsure on what card to get. I obviously need a 5. card, right? So will I need an X-FI or an Audigy? This is where I am getting confused, I got told that the X-FI's are 7. and the Audigy's are 5., I'm not sure if this is true?
Would someone be able to recommend a compatible card please? I have a budget of about ?00 (GBP) or 'about' $90 (USD).
I would like a card that's good for music, games and to watch movies.
Any replies would be much appreciated.

I've got some good news One of my friends has the X-FI Extreme Music card and has let me borrow it in exchange to borrow my PS2 lol just so I can test it out. The good news is that it seems to work!
So far there has been no issues with the card what so ever! I was quite surprised after reading other users comments about the crackling and popping issues with mainly the nForce 4 chipset mobos.
The sound is awesome compared to before Just played Counter Strike for a while to test things out and WOW!!! No issues just quality sound! If I don't get issues with the card, I'll buy it, definitely worth it.
I do have about half of my services disabled and have some personal reg tweaks n things. Maybe that's a benefit. Could also be the x64 bit version of Windows... who knows!
Still early days... I 'could' still get crackling and popping sounds after a while, only time will tell.
I will keep this thread updated with my progress or non progress lol.

Voice Track - Needs "Low End" or sounds too "thin"

I have created a voice demo tape for a job using Garage Band and was told by a professional that it's very good except that I need to add some "low-end" (20mghz) - that it sounds too thin... it may be my microphone (using the SnowBall) or the fact that I do not have a professional studio.
Can I use some kind of effect or tool in Garage Band to correct this? I am not an expert at garage band but use to mix music and voice for video work.

What is "20mghz"?? Probably they want some boost in the low frequencies - go to the info pane of your track (cmd-i), click the Edit tab and play with the VisualEQ. Either by selecting a preset (like "Bass Boost") or by manually editing the EQ - it's pretty straightforward.
