However, if it is that important, it should not be deleted from your HD (which will keep it from getting deleted from TM) or you should make a copy of it elsewhere.
I use SuperDuper! for additional, bootable backups and I recommend you spend the $$ for something you find useful.

Need to run a program that requires windows... do not want to buy windows!

We have been very happy Mac users for years now- recently I purchased some school software for my son (Switched on Schoolhouse) and it only runs in a Windows environment! I am so disappointed with this, but on further investigation saw that I could run windows ( I do NOT want to resort to this) just to run this ONE program!
I saw somewhere that there are emulators out there that allow you to run this software on a mac without needing to install windows at all- they failed to mention which one they were using and I am very inexperienced about this and would love if somebody could point me in the right direction!

Since both offer time-limited trial versions, maybe try them for yourself to see which one better fits your needs.

this is the classes u need to see inorder to help me. I tried simple backup:

We can't help you with what you have provided... you are talking about setClicked() but I can't see it anywhere, you are talking about save() and load() and i cant see them too...
just a comment about savePacks() and loadPacks():
-- why the counter 'i' is starting from 1 instead of 0, you are missing the first entry...

I use ALSA but need to use a program that only supports OSS

Specifically, TeamSpeak2
It is very antiquated and as far as I can tell it will only support OSS with /dev/dsp. I read the OSS wiki and the first steps seem to make it clear that ALSA and OSS won't peacefully co-exist. Is there any simple way to get this working? I only need the sound output, not worried about mic input for now.

I put that in ~/.asoundrc and it didn't seem to work. Additionally, with that in my .asoundrc, alsamixer refuses to start and gives me a bunch of errors about invalid configuration.

With DS 5.2 we do provide a way as Chris stated using slapd. You need to stop the directory, then (cd/slapd-instance_name/bin/slapd/server).
Then run ./ns-slapd dbtest .
The command line usage is the following.
usage: ns-slapd dbtest -D instancedir -n backend-instance-name [-d debuglevel] [-S] [-v]
To capture the output what I do is run script and then after <cntrl-d> to exit the script mode.

First of all, I posted in newbie corner because I can't fiure where else I could post, and besides, I'm a newbie.
I'm trying to install "compucell3d", a software for simulation of cells, basically.
Since they just offer binaries for ubuntu and fedora, I've tried to install from source, following the instructions found here:

These instructions are aimed for debian, but I've tried to follow'em at least closely.
There was one single step in the install I could not follow. The guide asks if cmake has located PYVERSIONS_EXE, expected to be, at least for debian, in /usr/bin/pyversions.
I've tried to install it anyway, and I keep getting this error:

I've trying to discover what I could use in place of pyversions, but could'nt find anything.

I have a requirement wherein I need to create an HR Report Program (using logical database PNP) and RFC FM wherin I will select and then compare HR Data in GH* and GO* system. This enhancement will be done in the GH* system.

How do I get my files from apple's "Backup" program onto my computer?it

I just upgraded to the new operating system on my Macbook Pro. I had Tiger on it, and things kept getting messed up. The people at the Apple store recommended doing an "erase and install" so that it clears out all of the old program info. Prior to doing this I used Apple's "Backup" program that used to come with .Mac account to backup my information to my external hard drive. Now that I have the new OS installed I want to use the backup that I created right before I erased my hard drive to restore things back to the computer (Iphoto library, Itunes, files, Mail settings, etc.) I went to the backups folder and all I see is a bunch of folders. Isnt there supposed to be some way to put them all in their original locations? I need to get my Mail settings and bookmarks back from my Safari settings. I am really new to all of this, and thought I did things the correct way... but I am getting extremely frustrated since it does not seem to be as "easy" as the employee at the store made it out to be. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, you will need the Backup program along with the backups you created. Time Machine and Backup are not the same.
You can re-download Backup from your iDisk where you got it originally. It isn't available elsewhere.

In need of a search program

I need a desktop search program that can be set to search only one specific folder (or a specified group of folders) and extract files from within subfolders in those folders. The "result" summary must allow the files to be dragged and dropped or copy and pasted.
The situation is that I have a lot (hundreds) of folders, each with four subfolders and these subfolders each have from one to three jpeg files (all different filenames). I'd like to collect these all in one place where I can sort them and place them such that they will be more readily accessable.
They are so difficult to get at now, not knowing the filename.
Can someone help me find such a program?

if a user upload a file to the specified folder in EP repository. (file will be .txt format), b'z they are the big customers to our client, so that they can just upload the order file.txt in a specified folder.
after uploading a file to that folder or directory, i need to develop one program that will pick the file from a folder or directory for every 10 or 15 mins, need to place the orders in SAP R/3.
Can anybody pl help me in this.
