I need a Guru fast

I'm designing a very strange report using Crystal Reports XI. I created a picture of what the report would look like when it's finished, because this might be confusing without it, but I can't figure out how to attach it to this post. If someone can help me with that I would really appreciate it, or I can just email it to you. Each of the red numbers on the attachment corresponds to a different sub report (SR). Each of the SRs can vary in size substantially. Sometimes SR 1 only had 5 items listed, sometimes it has 100. So if I put SR 1 & SR 2 in the same section, SR 1 ends up over lapping SR 2 instead of pushing 2 down. I want SR 2 and SR 3 to come up right behind SR 1 but I want to make sure that if SR 1 needs more room it will push SR 2 & 3 down. Is there a way to do that? What I've ended up doing is putting SR 2 & 3 into another section and used the "Print at Bottom of Page" option in the Selection Expert. Then I used the "Overlay following sections" option on the preceding section, so they can be next to SRs 4 & 5. The problem with that is that it brings the top of SR 6 level with the top of SR 2 & 3 which means sometimes its overlapping SRs 4 & 5. How can I get SR 2, 3, & 6 to not only print at the bottom of the page but, align each of their bottoms with the bottom of the page? I don't know, maybe I am going about this completely wrong. External Firewire Drives Don't Mount.... i need a guru.

i just got a brand butt spanking new iBook G4 14" 1.42 GHz
Tiger pre-installed.
I ran Software Update. As you can tell by my info, i'm at 10.4.2 now.
In a minute i'll tell ya how i got BACK to 10.4.2 from 10.4.5
When i got my iBook I didn't plug my external firewire drives in until (about 2 days) after my update. So when i did get around to building my iTunes library, well, no luck.
My firewire drives would and do NOT mount!
By the way these particular peripherals are Western Digital firewire

With a little exploration you'll find (at least i did) that they do not have firmware or driver updates for Mac. ( if you find them i'll give ya praise!)
The AcomData drive mounts with USB but not with firewire. The thing that
creeps me out is that my 3rd Gen firewire enabled iPod mounts right up no prob!
Another thing that ties me in knots is that these drives WILL MOUNT on my iBook12" running 10.3.9, as well as my old 5cH00L iMac DV 10.3.9!!!!
I thought it might be the Update so i did a clean install with the dvd provided by Apple and now i'm back to 10.4.2 but still no luck.
I've tried repairing permissions, starting, restarting, rebooting, plugging, unplugging, Updating, Downgrading, standing on my bloody head, looking all over the dotcom.
i swear i did all this with my peripherals unplugged.
i caught wind that though these companies may not provide updates for Mac, if i were to find out the companies that make the "chipsets?" within these drives that i might have luck.
i can't figure out what kind of "chipsets" (Oxford?) are in these drives or what to do if i knew anyway!

Here is some general troubleshooting advice that may help:
(1) Review the AppleCare Knowledge Base document "What to do if your computer won't recognize a FireWire device".
(2) If this problem occurred after installing a recent Mac OS X Update, and you are also unable to mount CDs, DVDs, or disk images perform the steps in this Mac OS X Hints article.
(3) The following additional steps will often help resolve problems with FireWire devices, particularly hard drives:(a) Power-on the FireWire drive before starting up (booting) your Mac.
(b) Reset PRAM and NVRAM.
(c) Reset the PMU or SMU: In the case of your iBook, I believe the article you want is "Resetting PowerBook and iBook Power Management Unit (PMU)." You can also check the manual that came with your new iBook.
(d) Try a different FireWire port. James Wiebe, CEO of WiebeTech, has published FireWire Port Failures in Host Computers and Peripheral Devices, a white paper providing backgroud information and technical analysis concerning the causes of failure for FireWire ports. i have a macbook pro 15 inch (the faster model). i am currently working on a fcp project (i tried posting on the fcp page but they didnt respond fast enough). if anyone here knows how to use fcp well, please answer. i am trying to convert a full 1920x1080 video down to dvd size (dual layer dvd is fine). i need to do it fast though. on top of that, the quality needs to be good. it doesnt need to be hd, but it needs to be decent. should i use compressor or fcp? which conversion method should i use?

Need a new FAST and BIG harddrive!

Hey everyone, we are making a slow switch to HD and we are looking for a external HD that is FAST and BIG. We will be working with a majority of the footage being uncompressed. Our idea is to be able to transport the footage and clips from our different post houses in uncompressed HD. So it needs to be fast, we are lookin at atleast 1 terabyte. Is firewire a sketchy way to go? Keep in mind it needs to be easily portable, from desktop to desktop. Do they make drives this big spin over 10,000 rpm? Thanks in advance.

With uncompressed HD firewire is DEFINATELY out. External SATA Raid might work, but really not as good as a good fibrechannel Raid array.

All make fibrechannel storage. Easily portable? Uh, not really...not with uncompressed HD. External SATA Raid and Fibrechannel Raids require controller cards...I guess you can install cards on all the machines. Or you can look into a SAN system like XSAN where the storage is shared.

I NEED A GURU...How do I add editable hyperlink in Adobe Reader?

Hi - I have a perplexing problem that I desperately need to find a solution to fast........
I have created an interactive PDF in LiveCycle that you can amend the text and image fields in the free Adobe Reader. My problem is that I need whoever uses the form to be able to alter one of the text fields and then attach a hyperlink on to the text.
It is the hyperlink part that I cannot find the answer to.
Is there a way of creating a field in LiveCycle that will allow someone to attach or edit a hyperlink? This step needs to be done in the Adobe Free Reader.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Need to Take Fast Printing on Dot Matrix Printer Using Report 10g

I need to take a fast output of Oracle 10g reports on Dot Matrix printer
Client runs the report and open in PDF but when he takes hard copy on his/her local printer, then printer works very slow and take huge time to print a single page.
Kindly help me, how can client get the output directly on his locally attached Dot Matrix Printer and fast.
Reports desinged and compile in Report10g R2 and
Middle teir using =Application Server 10 R2.

Draft mode is not by font. It is a specific printer mode. If you can not manually setup the mode, B1 may not have any abilities to print in this mode.

Need to disable Fast User Switching on multiple machines

Hi,
I have several labs with Fast User Switching turned on. I recently found out that it is incompatible with network home folders so I need a way to disable it on all of the lab machines. But from what I have seen the settings are part of ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systemuiserver.plist which means each user has their own setting for displaying the FUS menu item. Is there an easy way to shut it off system wide? Should I remove the USER.menu from /System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras ?
If you have a suggestion in the form of a script, or something ARD can do, that would be best.
Please advise!

The first thing to try is this defaults command:

That should disable it system-wide, but the menu extra may remain. If so, you'll need to run a script (as root) on every machine. (see below) This script requires you to have a program called "PlistBuddy". This program is not installed by default, but it can be found in many Apple-provided packages. To find which packages have it, do "locate PlistBuddy" in a terminal. Then open the original package (or download it), and copy PlistBuddy into , say, /usr/bin.

How do I find out my keychain password? Need more info fast about this

My computer started to get really slow, so I looked what I could do to make it faster again. After searching I found that the safari content was high and that I should delete it to make it less laggy and slow. Long story short I ended up deleting my saved passwords on safari...Looking into more info, I found out that I needed to get to Keychain Access. I got to Keychain access, found all the passwords.
My question..
•How do I get them out of Keychain?
•If I end up needing my password for Keychain, how do I find that out? I have the like start up CD, but I dont remember ever making a password.
•And if I do retreive my Keychain Password some how, will that delete everything stored in Keychain? I would have just tried it, but its a lot of passwords I CAN NOT lose...

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you boot, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Tip for people that need a really fast music libra

Since i've got my zen i always use winamp for transfering files and edit playlists. Its a great player for making and edit the meta data, and its very fast in transfering files. You also have the possibility to eject your device safely.
You will need winamp 5.3 from www.winamp.com.. Try it out.. its free and compatible with most creative devices.

I'd like to say I am really musical and can play all sorts of instruments really well but sadly I don't ... been learning the guitar for a while (approaching two years now) with little results though I am a master of keyboard - provided I don't have to use my hands independently!
Apparently I used to have a good voice when I was a child but I reckon it was more of a "awww, look at wee Stephanie singing, isn't she good" moment. So if you guys are starting a band I bagsy the triangle (which by the away I always played at pre-school recitals, so I must be good at it )

I know others have said it already but I am really impressed at Outcast_Aussie basically re-learning how to play the guitar, that's just awesome.

it's possible if you use a better decompiler. sothink is, imo, the best.

Latency Type needing changed to FAST

you had latency changed before to fast but it has obviously changed back to interleaved this is normally due to DLM seeing line as having a problem possibly noise or dropping connection or both - have you been have problems?

Error message when using counter indicating need to use faster timebase

I'm attempting to use the two onboard counter timers on my DaqPad 6015 with a SC2345 carrier.
The program initially runs as expected, but once in a while I get an error message that reads as follows:
"2 consecutive active edges of the input signal occured without a counter timebase edge."
"Use a faster counter timebase"
I have only attempted to read this signal at two known frequencies: 15 and 20 Hz.
Can anyone advise as how to correct this or how to change the counter timebase?
I'm using the built in Express Daq Assistant to create the code to read the frequency so that part is pretty straight forward.
This command is however inside of a case structure, so each time it reads it is possible to reset or miss the first leading edge of the signal.

Hi Patrick,
It sounds like the program is lagging when you attempt to read the gate of this counter. 15 Hz seems slow in comparison to the specs of the counter, but if your VI is slow by 7/100th of a second the program will thrown an error. I recommend probing the counters to determine where in the program the error occurs.

This has happened to me but i don't know what to do because my Itunes kept closing down and it shut down half way through updating and it just comes up with a silver apple and it won't turn off and now it's just frozen and it also doesn't recognise it when i opened up itunes again after i reset it to the factory settings

1. create a movieclip that contains a textfield. give the textfield an instance name (say tf) and assign the movieclip a class (say MC).
2. create a textformat instance.
3. create an array of your words.
4. loop through your array of words
a. creating a movieclip for each word,
b. assign the textformat a size (a random integer between your desired limits should work),
c. assign the word to the text property of the textfield and
d. assign the textformat to the textfield and autosize your textfield
e. add the movieclip to the display list
f. position the movieclip (after the previously positioned one)
g. add your event listener (possibly using another array).
