I need a high quality print of a web page..

Hi all,
I'm sorry if this isn't the appropriate forum for this but I'm betting you all will be the best brain trust to ask!
A website has done a feature article on our company and I would LOVE to print out a copy of this page.
Using the standard browser print options makes the page a total mess.. I've downloaded the "Awesome Screenshot" plug in for chrome and got a decent print of it but it's still not ultra high quality. I'm hoping to be able to print this and frame it... Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for me?
Again I apologize for this not being specific to PS (although I do have the entire Adobe suite and may be able to utilize it for this project)... and thank you in advance for any help you may give me.
Thanks!

Sounds like you are half way there.  Load that pdf into Photoshop at your required resolution, and rebuild the borders and colours on underlying layers using Photoshop.  The text will be bitmap, but if you load it at a really good resolution, it should look OK.  Or you can overwrite the text in Photoshop as well.  If you load the PDF with Acrobat or similar, you will probably be able to cut and paste the text from the PDF into Photoshop.
I think you said you have the full Creative Suite?  I'd 'probably' do it with InDesign, but that's a guess without seeing it.

Frequently when I try to do a print of a web page, I end up printing only whatever fits on the first printed page. Instead of continuing to later pages as needed, the rest of the displayed web page is simply ignored.

I am stumped and need help to resolve this please.

No...I tried the reset option as I mentioned above. It didn't work.

really, I have no idea how it got like that.

I would suspect this is a hardware issue.  The rollers are probably having issues picking up the relatively smooth thick media.  You might have better results be cleaning the paper pickup rollers with a damp paper towel.  Also make sure the paper is snugly loaded and the paper guides have been correctly positioned.

  • Why can't I print a secured web page (https)? Win7, FireFox 5.0

Whenever I try to print a secured web page using FireFox 5.0 nothing happens.
I have to switch to Internet Explorer 9.0 to get the printed secured web page.
I'm using win 7 Pro 32-bit on a desktop machine

I tried the steps you indicated. It brought me to IE which I don't use, unless someone will die due to my decision. I hate monopoly, such as Microsof imposes to its customers. My printer works fine with any application, except with firefox, since I updated to version 5.0

Firefox 4 versions and later '''do not run on a PowerPC Mac''' and require at least OS X 10.5 and '''an Intel Mac'''.

  • Suddenly, system produces a "microsoft image writer," freezes, then crashes when I try to print from a web page. This is new, just past week or so.

For the past week or two, when I desire to print from a web page or email and hit the "print" command, instead of my printer name the printer window displays 'microsoft document image writer." Then it asks me to save (in which case it appears in my documents) or print to file. Then, if it works, it produces a window with an image of the page. And once or twice, I can then print. But usually, it produces a blank screen, an endless hourglass, a "not responding" message, and then the blue screen of death.

Is it possible to specify print settings for web pages designed in Muse? For example, can you exclude background images from printing?

    Hello,
You can define Print Setting to page By Defining CSS Style in page Header by typing Style tag.
you can go to Page > Page Properties > Metadata  > HTML for <Head>.

  • What settings do I need for high quality web video?

I've created a video via animoto.com for my website. The video resolution they recommend for web is 432 x 240 @ 15 fps. I used this and it's not as crystal clear as I'd like. Still looks pixelated a bit and I'd like a higher def version. So I downloaded the hi res version (864 x 480 @ 24 fps). This looks great but takes forever to load due to buffering. Then the video stops every few seconds. I understand this res is not meant for web.
What is the resolution I need for best quality & fast loading? I've seen great videos on the web before that loaded very quickly. This is what I'm looking for. I have Quicktime Pro for Mac and can pretty much save in any formats & resolutions. So what's recommended?
    Thanks!

    Hi
    There are some important things.
    • Set down burn speed to x1. In iDVD08 You can do this in preferences.
    • Use high quality media. I only use Verbatim
    • Use right type of DVDs. I only use DVD-R (Single Layer)
    • Best quality - I use Pro-encoding Quality.
    • IMPORTANT: Secure a minimum of 25Gb free space on Your internal (start-up) hard disk
    • Use a CD/DVD cleaning disk from time to time
    • Don't burn more than three DVD at a time then let Your DVD-burner rest in 15 minutes to cool down.
    Good Luck

  • VHS TO FCP TO QT NOW NEED AVI HIGH QUALITY

We have a two minute segment given to use in vhs format (poor quality) to begin with. I imported into FCP 4 and exported high qual quicktime and it plays & looks okay on both mac and pc. However, we need to insert video into powerpoint on pc. I'm having a hard time getting anything that is not pixelated and grainy. I've tried the codecs known to work on pc, cinepak & sorenson, same pitiful result. Any thoughts and/or suggestions for 3rd party products? Ideally, getting a higher quality source would be preferable but that is not an option.

For maximum compatibility MPEG1 is a good choice. Virtually anything in the world can play it. Later machines will also be able to play MPEG2 which will have better quality, but you may have trouble with sound if there is any. Beware of anything with high bit rates, particularly if it is playing back in a window on a laptop. Some will fall over, others will just freeze the laptop screen if you have an external display (projector) connected.
It will always be a compromise between quality and something that will play back on a system not designed for video (you paid a lot of money for your MAC didn't you.

  • High Quality Prints using iPhoto

iPhoto is great, but I need a few details (or where to find the details). I am a new Mac person; just purchased my first iMac, and love it already.
What printer (Brand and Model #) do you (Apple) use. If I had this info I could find the rest of the info I need?
I want to know the Pixels/inch and/or Dots/inch I need to provide through iPhoto for Apple to produce the HIGHEST Professional Quality 30"X40" prints.
If Apple does not print 30"x40" how large does Apple print?
Does Apple print on canvas? What weight of paper/canvas does Apple use?
What digital camera's work with iPhoto? Specifically, will the new Kodak V1273 meet Apple's input requirements for large (30"x40") Highest Quality prints?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Generally speaking you want to have the greatest number of pixels that you can get for printing. iPhoto will give a low resolution warning in the order window if the file selected for a given size comes in at less than 80 dpi. Again, that's Apple's predetermined level of acceptable prints. May not be yours.
A 40 x 30 at 180 dpi would require about 7200 x 5400. You will have to see what the Kodak's largest pixel size is before you can judge if you have enough. If you expect a 40 x 30 to be as good as a 5 x 7 from many other cameras you'll need a camera with a large sensor, 12 MB or greater I would presume.
My Canon SD700 produces an image of 2816 x 2112, a 6 MP camera. So the largest 180 dpi print I could get would be about 15 x 12 or thereabouts. I do not get a warning from Apple for a 20 x 30 print with that file. Again, it depends on your expectations for a print of that size.
A 12 MP camera will produce an image with about 4312 x 2880 pixels. So at 40 x 30 that would be between 96 and 107 dpi.
You might check some of the other online photofinishers to see what they recommend for 40 x 30 poster prints.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Can't print directly from web pages anymore-what setting needs to be changed?

After doing a recent update for the printer, the program jammed up and I was forced to  uninstall then reinstall the printer. Since doing so, whenever I want to print a doc from a website, I right click to print, and a save page comes up-forcing me to save the document somewhere before I can print. I save to desktop, then can print from there. This is an extra step I never had to do before-could always print from the page. What setting do I need to change?

  • Print / Export on web page no longer works for Crystal Report

I am honestly at a loss, for days, the report would allow me to click on the printer icon and print to PDF or export the result of the report, but now, all I get is a blank page when the page refreshes. It no longer asks me for print range or anything. I thought this might be a IE 6 setting, but after reviewing the settings and placing the site in my trusted sites list, I still can't print. Is there a web.config setting I need to know about to make sure that export and print are enabled?
I get no error messages at all, it is as if the button is broke, but I have no way to troubleshoot the innerworkings of crystal xi r2 buttons on the web page. If I could just step though the script it uses that would atleast let me see what is going on, but right now, I am stuck.
Thanks for your help ahead of time.

I've went a bit farther than that, I created a virtual directory and placed the aspx file (and its associated ascx and designer files) into that folder along with the report, then I placed a basic web.config file with only crystal required elements within that folder. I disconnected that version of the viewing page from the master web file so that it no longer used a master file, I setup the assembly register at the top under the control section, then I placed the viewer and source on that page. Same end result, the report shows but when clicking on any option, the page is blank but source shows that there is javascript there. My report is not autobound, it is programatically generated from a click of a button.
    These were my assumptions:
    1) when the report is generated, it is on the page and the session information has everything it needs to know about the report
    2) when an option is selected, either clicking on the tree, the zoom, the print or export (or other options), that the view information is passed back during the postback event to the controls so that the report would not have to be regenerated
What I am finding out, at the very least through trials, is that an autobound report, the controls work, but a manual bound report, the pages are blank after selection of any of the listed javascripted items. On top of that, the only time that this seems to be working on a manual bound page is that the page can contain nothing but the report and that the report must be rebuilt on page_load event. Which is not good.
What 'should' be the desired design, is that Crystal writes to a session variable, the report data so that on a post back event, it understands what we want without having to do a full report reload. This would be optional of course because in its current design, each event triggered causes a repost of new data and never last pulled information, so that if there was a change in records, the event pulls the most up to date information. This is not documented anywhere that I have found for web design.
So then, another problem along the same lines has arrisen. As you say, Crystal doesn't play well with AJAX, but AJAX is a requirement for the project and I need to have a progress bar for the report since ultimately the page is waiting on the report to show. Depending on the report and the postback, this could be a while, If it takes a minute for the initial view of the report to show, all events on the page will trigger a full refresh of the report and subsequent pulls will take the same time since the controls don't allow for 'use posted data' instead of 'pull new data'.
Taking your suggestion, I removed the view from the panel and placed it above the panel control. At this point, the tree node script works, the zoom script works, all of the controls in the control colection on the report work, except export and print, those two still do not work. This is with me also placing the call to the buildreport on page_load event.
What is even more troubling, is that not until I had removed the UpdatePanel and UpdateProgress controls from the page completely did the export or print work at all. With the fact those two exist anywhere on the page in general causes a problem. Again, not a desired result. I need a live visual effect for the user that something is going on because some of the reports take seconds while others can take minutes depending on the pull and they need to know that 'something' is going on.
Removing UpdatePanel and UpdateProgress is not an option.
