I need a lot of green..

I need to create a topo plan, and need a green pallette, with gradual tone changes, from light to dark.
Whats the easiest way to get this. Tryed making my own (miss out a lot of tones, so creates jumps in colour).
I would like to be able to load a new swatch pallette... Any help ??

make your lightest and darkest green swatches, make a blend between them of however many steps you need and use those maybe?

Report RSXMB_RESTART_MESSAGES needs a lot of resources

Hi,
we are using PI 7, SPS9.
When we have a heavy load in XI, we are getting sometimes JavaNullPointer-Exceptions in Java-mappings, so we have to restart these messages - no problem!
There is the report RSXMB_RESTART_MESSAGES to restart failed messages, but when I defined it as a job (every 1 hr) and during this time we have a lot of messages (but only some are failed), the job never ends and it needs a lot of resources!
In the queues I can see a lot of entries made by the report.
Our report still have the field "max restarts" and I entered 5 restarts!
What can I do?

This is a test system and at the moment I just defined jobs for deleting and not for archiving.
My problem is, that we have a sender with thousands of messages via the same interface for the same receiver and sometimes a message failed ('cause of NullPointerException in java mapping).
To define a filter in the report RSXMB_RESTART_MESSAGES is no solution 'cause the filter cannot reduce the number of messages (it's always thousands of messages).
When the job starts during less traffic, I don't have any problems - it's just a problem during heavy traffic.

I use itunes on a Dell XPS502 with W7/64. In some cases have have problems to import CD's. The sound is very disturbed and the import need a lot more time than in normal cases. Is there a problem between itunes W7/64 or a known hardware issue?

Example-CD : "Tracy Chapman , Telling stories" is not able to import . I have more such negative cases. But in other cases it works fine and the sound is great.
The firmware at the inbuild CD/DVD DS-6E2SH is the latest version.

I don't no about virtuel drives like you mententioned. In the mean time I have rebooted the XPS and run again the iTunes diagnostics. I think the back - chance in the registry was not ready to use. Now there are another results. They are the same in case of a running CD or a not running CD. The difference in total is like before. It takes more time that iTunes reads the (bad) CD and at the there is no good sound. In both cases ( running or not running CD) iTunes diagnostics gives as a result :
(the copie from ITunes shows the result of the not running CD from Tracy Chapman)

Why do we need to make Delta Green some times

Today a delta was running for a long time and i killed the job in source and made the delta red and repeated again,
when discussing with some senior colleagues, they said, you should not make delta always red. Is there any situation like
we need to make delta green and request for another delta. I dont understand the total scenario.

and more situation like, the job has not yet created in source system for some reason and the delta got failed , even in this scenario, they asked me to do Green.

Do the tracks show up in the Recently Added playlist? If so then something has gone wrong with the index of the Music playlist. Download the current iTunes Free Single of the Week. I know it sounds odd, but it should fix the problem. (Probably adding anything would do.)
If that doesn't work close iTunes and delete the hidden file sentinel from inside the main iTunes folder, then start iTunes again. It should run a consistency check when it starts up.

Aperture 3 needs a lot, lot, lot of space ;)

As you can see sometimes Aperture needs a lot of space, to do just update. Can you imagine how much space it will need for whole backup?
+PS: Library size is around 70GB+

Need a lot of custom JComponents, but Java just too 'slow', other Solution?

Hi folks,
first of all i'll try to explain my problem (although my english is quite bad)
We're programming a tool for visualising graph algorithms (df search, strong connected components, transitive reduction etc.) For that, we got a drawing area (derived from JLayeredPane) which contains the Nodes and the Edges of a graph (for all that don't know what a graphs is, just imagine these nodes as numbered circles, and the edges as directed lines from one node to another).
Both parts (Nodes and Edges) are derived from JComponent, because a) need MouseEvents on these Components and b) we need the ability to add them to a container (like JLayeredPane)
An absolute requirement is that you can directly click on the edges (to mark them, or delete them etc)
Another point which needs to be mentioned, the edges maintain a (invisible) polygon which lies around their line, this polygon is sensitive for mouseEvents.
Now there are two main problems:
* all these edges have (due to JComponent) (possibly) huge invisible rectangles (the only thing that really matters is the line from one corner of this rect. to the other) ...so if i got lets say a graph with 10.000 edges, there are a lot of edges that overlap (nearly 10.000 :) ) ... but only the Edge-object on top receives the MouseEvent (but perhaps the user wanted to cklick a edge that lies below the top-edge!) .. at the moment, the program looks at all edges below that which received the MouseEvent and checks wether the 'mouse'click' hits a polygon, If it does, the top edge dispatches the MouseEvent to that edge. (furthermore, due to the depth-order in a Layer of a JLayeredPane, we only need to look at all edges that are really below the egde that received the mouseEvent)
This all works great for 'small' numbers of edges (approximately 1000-2000) but with a rising number of edges this attempt gets slower and slower (it takes 1-3 seconds to evaluate a single mouseclick on a Sun Ultra 5/333)
* the bigger problem is, that if i got 10k+ JComponents in a Container Java gets really slow, just adding these 10k JComps. (to the JLayeredPane) takes some minutes?! Furthermore java consumes up to 200+ MB main memory in this situation.
One solution we are currently thinking about is to implement these edges as 'pure graphics'-objects (for example the Container just draws all edges).. this probably solves problem # 2 but # 1 gets even worse (no depth-order, some more coordinates hassle)
So, i hope someone can give me a hint for this problem or someone has had a similar problem before and has a good solution? (if the problem isnt clear, just ask)

I worked on an application once that had a similar structure as yours, but we were only scaling up to about 1000-2000 components. The problem that we identified (and that you have, no doubt, also identified) is that you are searching all of the child components on every hit test/overlap test. What we did was to subdivide out outermost container so that it had a couple of dozen children, each of which then parented some of the original child components: this cut our search space for every hit test dramatically. We had the advantage of having collections of child componenents that we knew would not overlap so our first level containers did not overlap -- you may need your first level containers to overlap, but even with this, you'll still be able to much more quickly identify components in the immediate region that should be checked individuall.

Calendar on iPhone needs a lot of work

I just needed a place to vent/recommend changes for the Calendar app on the iPhone/iPod Touch.
I used to have a Palm, but now with my cool iPod Touch, I'd like to organize my life with it. So far, though, the Calendar program is proving less than useful.
I really like the iCal desktop app, but what I don't understand is why the iPhone version is so totally stripped down to the point of obsolescence. These are my issues that I'd love to see updated:
-Calendar colors are not respected:
In iCal, my work events show up in red, classes I teach in blue, things my girlfirend does in pink, and so forth. When I sync to my Touch, work becomes green, teaching changes to red, and my girlfriend - orange - which is also the color of another category. I know the Touch can handle a wide spectrum of colors, so why limit/change my color options? It's simply confusing.
-No week view:
Of the various calendar views - day, week, month - I find week the most useful to look at, but that's the very one that's not included on the Touch. Even if it means turning the Touch on its side, I would greatly appreciate it.
-Very limited event editing:
The whole idea behind having a portable calendar is so you can check your availability and add new events, so I'd love to have the exact same features available on the Touch as there are on iCal. On the touch, I can set up recurring events, but am limited to weekly, daily, etc. (i.e. no every Monday/Wednesday). I can't create new calendars, set colors, or add events to specific calendar groups.
So what I'm trying to say is the Calendar app on the iPod Touch is useless. I'm not saying it should be more like the Palm app (which was wonderful, by the way), but all I ask is for the full, expected functionality of a portable calendar app.

ITunes is black, need a lot of help!

I just downloaded the new iTunes 7.7 today. When I opened it up, the whole screen is black. Some of the words (like File, Edit, Controls...<on the top>) are in white, but everything else on the screen is black. I tried to minimize and maximize, but nothing changed. I restarted my computer..then I uninstalled and reinstalled, but still nothing. I am having problems, and I am getting so frustrated. Please, If you know anything please help. (I have looked at other sites for this problem, but still no help. I tried to go to compatibility and disbling some stuff as one site told me to, but it did not help.)

maybe someone of you know a solution?
We have installed a BO4.0 Enterprise Server, and we installed a lot of patches since now.
The installation directory (BO/InstallData/InstallCache/) needs now a lot of space.
Is it possible to reorganise this directory or is it possible to delete some files?

Run Disk Cleanup you will get some space.
Right click the drive Select Properties. Click Disk Cleanup....
If you want to reduce the number of unnecessary files on your hard disk to free up disk space and help your computer run faster, use Disk Cleanup. It removes temporary files, empties the Recycle Bin, and removes a variety of system files and other items that you no longer need.

ICloud email needs a lot of work

Does anyone know if/where Apple has a place to report bugs with iCloud.com apps?
The email app is pretty unstable. Most of the time, searching doesn't work at all. It just spins for a while and then tells me that it can't complete it right now. Most of the time, composing new messages doesn't allow me to attach anything to the message. Just throws up a weird error. Sometimes attachments work just fine. There's almost no rhyme or reason to it.
And finally, the iCloud.com mail app itself is incredibly slow.
Definitely a lot of work needed. Earthlink's email client was better 5 years ago.

Early 2007 Macbook...I need a lot of help and am computer illiterate

I have an early 2007 white MacBook 13". I have used it since I started college in 2007. I know I have accumulated a lot of photos and music on it, all of which I am sure contribute to it running incredibly slow. I am horrible at navigating these boards as I do not know how to word my questions in a way that even makes sense....so here are my questions (the simpler the answers the better!) (and I apologize in advance because they have all probably been answered):
1. What can I do to make my computer run faster? I have read about RAM but I don't even understand what RAM is...is that what I need? Would an external hard drive help at all? I have tried deleting files and saving pictures onto USB drives and then deleting them. I also have repaired the disk utilities multiple times. None of that helped. I know there are tons of posts on here about that stuff...but they are so jumbled and I get so lost as to what I've done. Obviously I have read some posts because I did the disk utility thing.
2. What is the highest OS X update my computer can handle? I read I can't have Mountain Lion due to my computer basically being out of date... but can I install Lion? And also, can I skip an update (for example go from Leopard to Lion)?
Again sorry for the repetition. I am hoping people on here are nice enough to just answer the questions without making me feel stupid for being repetitious. Any help would be appreciated.

Taking it backwards, your system cannot run 10.8 Mountain Lion.
It can support Lion, however, the performance may or may not be great. Lion requires 2GB of memory (AKA RAM), and many have found it needs 4GB to run well. While you can install 4GB on your late 2006 MacBook, the system will only access 3GB. This article talks about upgrading from 10.5 Leopard to 10.7 Lion. Otherwise, you'll need 10.6 Snow Leopard to access the App store. If you want Lion, call the Apple online store, which in the US is 800-MY-APPLE and buy a download code, which you'll use on the App store. Lion 10.7 is $29 and Snow Leopard 10.6 is $19.99.
Your system can easily support OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Call the Apple online store to order it. 10.6 requires a minimum of 1GB, and 2GB, or more, will give better performance. OWC and Crucial are good sources for memory. This Apple note tells how to replace the memory, and this video shows you how to do that.
Now, question 1. Two keys to speed are RAM or memory and free disk space. Discussed RAM already. Disk space the general rule is that you need 10% or more of the space free for systems usage. When you've deleted files, you've probably emptied the trash. Some have found using OnyX has helped with performance (you want the Leopard version). With any disk maintenance program, you should have a good backup before using it.
