I need a microphone stand bracket for an iPad Air. Who makes one?

I am in desperate need of a micropheone stand bracket to fit an iPad Air. Does anyone make this? I undestand the iKlip 2 does not fit an iPad Air.
Alternatively, is there any way to modify an existing product to fit the slimmer iPad Air?
Thanks,
J.R.

Google was, of course, my first place to look. Most of the results are for brackets that fit the older generation of iPads, and only show up in the Google results because of a sentence like "does not work with iPad Air."
There is one unit that intrigues me. It is the ChargerCity Music Mic Stand. However, the reviews on Amazon reference difficulty in using the bracket in vertical mode. That is how I use my current (but now broken) tablet 100% of the time.
Anyone have experience with this (or any other) bracket with the iPad Air?

  • Do I need a new Apple ID for my iPad Air?

Hi!  I have a MacBook, OS 10.5.8.  I have just bought an iPad Air.  I know I can't synch the two devices, as my OS is too old, but do I need a new Apple ID in order to use itunes on the new iPad?  Thank you.

    Thank you, Niel.
So ... will it not get confused if I buy an app for my iPad one day, and a song from itunes for my MacBook another?
I am intending to keep the stuff in my itunes on my MacBook and still access it.

  • What is the best charging cable for the iPad Air (that is not made by Apple)? I need a long cable (over 6ft or more). I also need the cable to be of high quality and the cord part of the cable to be made of strong material.

What is the best charging cable for the iPad Air (that is not made by Apple)? I need a long cable (over 6ft or more). I also need the cable to be of high quality and the cord part of the cable to be made of strong material. Apple does not make one this long. Is there a cable out there that is sturdy like this and is safe to use?

yes, but I'm trying to use my iPad to type notes (using pages) and I have the smart case which I use as a stand. I need a cable long enough to fit through the back of my desk and the charging brick for the iPad won't fit behind the desk. I have to put it on the floor and then the apple cables aren't long enough to reach.

  • I recently purchased icloud storage for my iPad Air.  I want to store photos in the cloud and learn how to retrieve them.  I need help.

I recently  purchased iCloud storage for my iPad Air so that I can store my photos in the cloud.  I don't know how to do this.  I want to be able to retrieve them as well.

    Hello Janet
With that iCloud storage that you purchased, is used for mainly for iCloud Backup for your iPad Air, app data as in games and documents for like iWork and other apps that save data locally within the app. Dealing with photos in your Photo Stream they actually do not count towards that storage plan. If you don’t think that the storage is going to work for you, then cancel the upgrade you just made.

  • What is the pixel or inches dimension to create a perfect sized wallpaper in Photoshop for the iPad air?

I figured out by trying different sizes to make about a perfect sized wallpaper for the iPhone 5, but can't seem to make one for the iPad air. The dementions I used for the iPhone 5 was  1536x 894 pixels or (12.417 inches Wide x 21.333 inches Height) which fits the iphones wallpaper about perfect. Note this is with having reduce motion ON in the settings>accessibility tab. I used photoshop to create these wallpapers. Please let me know if you have figured this out        Thanks!

I reduced the size of my photo small enough so when you go to install it you need to put two fingers on it to stretch it out to fit. Far from an exact science but doable.

  • Unable to enter Recovery Mode for my iPad Air

Unable to enter Recovery Mode for my iPad Air
While updating my iPad Air to iOS 7.0.6, it went into an endless loop of cycling between the white Apple screen and the whirling dashes. I can't even reliably shut it down.  It seems a prime candidate for recovery mode, but unfortunately I can't get it there.  When I try to enter recovery mode by attaching to iTunes then pressing the home key and then reattaching theUSB cable when attached to iTunes, I just go back into the same endless loop Apple screen / whirling dashes cycle.
Right now I'm just waiting for it to power off by letting the battery run down, to see if that jumpstart brings it back up into a different state.
Anything else I can try?  Or is my next stop the Genius Bar?
    Thank you,
    Matt

The timing on this has to be...just...right to enter DFU mode. If that won't work, plug the iPad Air into your computer and set the iPad into recovery mode, like so:
    1) Turn off your device. If you can't turn it off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time and wait a few seconds for it to turn off.
    2) Plug the device's USB cable into your computer only.
    3) Hold down the device's Home button as you connect the USB cable to it.
    4) When you see the Connect to iTunes screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 one more time.

  • Can i use my iphone 5 charger for the ipad air

Can I use my iphone 5 charger for the ipad air?

It's really not recommended. The iPhone's 5w charger does not output enough current to properly charge the battery. It -may- charge but if it did, it would charge the iPad very slowly.
This would be like trying to fill a bucket of water (iPad) with a squirt gun (5w charger)
Also under iOS 7, the charging requirements are much stricter than iOS 6. You'll likey get an error message if you try.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.

  • Is it possible to purchase cellular service while traveling in Japan for an Ipad Air?

I am traveling to Japan and would like to know if it is possible to purchase cell service for my Ipad Air for several weeks?  What are the possible cell providers?

I would rather look into renting a MiFi device. It's a small, portable WiFi router connected to a cellular carrier. The advantage is that you can connect up to 5 devices (usually). I've done this when traveling to countries other than Japan and it worked exceptionally well for me.
I did a quick Google search for "rent mifi japan" and came up with several options.

  • Can I purchase an Apple Care extended warranty for an iPad Air if I purchase it at Best Buy?

CAn I buy an Apple Care extended warranty for an iPad Air if I purchase it at Best Buy?

For me? Buying from best buy was my only option since the closest apple store is over an hour away. (and technically in another state)
Also, when I bought my iPod the warranty that Best Buy offered was far more comprehensive than Apple Care with accidental damage protection for up to 3 years.
And, when my iPad's charging port messed up, I took it into Best Buy and they swapped me out for a new one while at an Apple store I likely would have gotten a refurb.
When I swapped out my iPod 4 for my iPod 5 I took it into best buy, got $70 towards the purchase of the new device by trading in the old one.
Best Buy isn't perfect and not every store is a good one, but they are a good alternative or other option to explore for those buying devices.
I think my biggest beef when buying my iPad and later iPod at Best Buy is when I bought my iPad I bought the screen protector and they wanted to charge me to apply it...and it kinda rankled for me to be plunking down over $600 dollars to have them want to charge me $15 for a screen protector install.

  • Should I get a screen protector for my iPad air 2?

SShould I get a screen protector for my iPad air 2?

It's a personal decision. I've had a screen protector on my iPad 2 since the day it was bought. Same with my touch 4 and 5 (and I was able to sell my touch 4 to Best Buy in 'like new' condition thanks to a screen protector and case). other people swear never to use them and their devices are just fine.
I have two nieces that like to use my iPad so I appreciate the protector and the ability to clean it off without worrying about messing with the screen. Others don't like how the screen protector feels and won't use them. So I'd say it boils down to how are you going to use your device. Will it sit on the coffee table and never leave the house and only be used by adults? then you can probably do fine without one. Gonna take it to school  and on vacation and all over the place using it wherever? then you should consider a screen protector and case
Just don't go for the super cheap ones off amazon. They're cheap for a reason. I use a zagg one. it is expensive but it has a lifetime guarantee. If it's messed up protecting your device they replace it free. So worth it for me.
