I need a new iCloud

I have an iCloud account already made, but I want to make a new one. I have a new Apple ID on my iPhone but it won't let me make a new iCloud. If I hit "delete account" on the bottom of the page on my iPhone, will that delete the entire iCloud or just the cloud on my data? I don't want to delete the iCloud all together, i just want a different Apple ID and iCloud on this particular device.

It will delete the iCloud account from your device, but not from iCloud.  If you want to migrate your current iCloud data to a new account with your new ID, start by saving any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud), provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone and choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted.  Then sign back in with your new Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload your data to the account.  You will need to use the emails you sent earlier to recreate your notes in the new account.  You also can't move your old iCloud email account to the new account so you will have to create a new one.

  • Pages downloaded, but I still can't open iCloud pages from iPad. Says that I need a new version of Pages on my Mac

For my Mac Pro, after I downloaded the new Mavericks OS, I downloaded the new pages. However, I still can't open iCloud pages from iPad. Says that I need a new version of Pages on my Mac.
    Please help.

It appears that you are launching the old version, probably using an icon in your Dock. That icon is an alias & is not updated. You will need to go to your Applications folder & find the new Pages 5 icon & double-click it. Once it is launched, you can right-click on the icon & choose Options > keep in Dock from the contextual menu.

  • When I try to open a Pages document from iCloud, created on my iPad, I get message stating I need a newer version of Pages.  When I go to app store all I get is "installed" when looking at pages app. my Macbook pro is up to date with all updates.

When I try to open a Pages document from iCloud, created on my iPad, I get message stating I need a newer version of Pages.  When I go to app store all I get is "installed" when looking at pages app. my Macbook pro is up to date with all updates. Any ideas?

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5/5.01 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.1 sometimes can not open its own files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has not only managed to confuse all its users, but also itself.
Note: Apple has removed over 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

  • I have inherited an ICloud account from one of my employers when transferring from old MacBook Pro to new MacMini and need to separate from this, presumably by setting up a new ICloud account.  How do I do this ?

I have inherited an ICloud account from one of my employers when transferring from old MacBook Pro (which belonged to them) to new MacMini and need to separate from this, presumably by setting up a new ICloud account.  How do I do this ?  And is there any danger, in doing so, that I might delete any of her ICloud information ?

Sign out in System Preferences>iCloud. This will remove any synced data such as Calendars, emails and Contacts from your Mac, but will have no effect on the data on the server - so that other devices logged into it will continue to see the data.

  • Ai changed my email for my apple id, but i can't change my iCloud ccount because i can't remember my old password, and now i need to use iCloud for my new IPhone but it isn't working, how do i fix that?

i changed my email for my apple id, but i can't change my iCloud  account because i can't remember my old password, and now i need to use iCloud for my new IPhone but it isn't working, how do i fix that?

If the old ID is yours, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • I just got my daughter a new macbook pro. She currently shares my wires apple id for iTunes on her iTouch. I need to set up an email account for her. Is there any way to set up a new iCloud email account but still use my wires apple id for iTunes?

I just got my daughter a new macbook pro. She currently shares my wifes apple id for iTunes on her iTouch. I need to set up an email account for her. Is there any way to set up a new iCloud email account but still use my wifes apple id for iTunes?

No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that.

  • Does Aperture 3 have built in PhotoShare/iCloud capabilities or do I need a newer version of iPhoto as well?  I'm running iPhoto '09 and am to scared to switch to the newer version of iPhoto..?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Both Aperture 3 and iPhoto '11 are compatible with Photo Stream. However, note that the most recent iPhoto '11 and Aperture 3 versions use the same library, so your library will be upgraded, and it doesn't mind if you install iPhoto '11 or Aperture 3. That's why I recommend you to make a backup of your iPhoto library before installing Aperture or upgrading iPhoto

    Maybe, maybe not.
Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac", then "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
For full iCloud you need 10.7  But the question really is, do you need all the things it does?  I mean really?  Oh, you don't mention if this question is in conjunction with some device you own. To whom and how are you transferring files?

  • Why iCloud Mail app needs Apple ID to create new iCloud email?

I want to create an iCloud email but Icloud Mail always asks for Apple ID to enter, is this just to open and access app?

Mail thinks you are trying to add a new iCloud account with its own email address.
If you want an additional @icloud.com address you can do one of two things:
    1. You can create a new iCloud account by signing out of your existing one in System Preferences>iCloud and signing in with a different Apple ID (if you don't have another one you will have to create it at http://appleid.apple.com ). You can then sign out of it, sign back into the original account, and then add the new account at System Preferences>Mail, Contact and Calendars. This will set your Mail application up with the new address. You won't get 'push' email with this account, it will check the server periodically.
    2. The simpler solution is to create an email 'alias' on your existing account. You can have up to three: these are additional addresses (not accounts) and they deliver into the same inbox as the main address. You don't need to do anything in Mail to receive messages to these addresses; if you want to send as from them you can add them in Mail Preferences>Accounts in the 'Email address' field, separating them by a comma. More detail here:
    http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a490a
Note regarding option 1 that any one Mac or iOS device can create only three iCloud accounts; this is tied to the hardware, not the user account.

  • What happens if I make a new iCloud account? My brother and I share and neither of us have enough space to back up our phones, and need to.

My brother and I share and iCloud account, and we have the basic 5.0GB of space. The backup space is full and neither of us can back up our phones but need to, so we can clear space on our phones. I want to make a new iCloud account for myself so that I have 5.0GB to myself, but will doing so mess up data on our phones? Such as contacts, apps, etc. Also, if it is safe to make a new account, how can I do so?

Just so you know, doing an iCloud backup is not going to free up any space on your device. It is only going to back up what is on your device in case you need it to restore your device. If you need to free up space on your device, go to Settings>General>Usage, and under the first Storage section, see what is taking up so much room on your phone.
Delete any unneeded apps, delete mail, text messages with videos and photos, remove photos from your Camera Roll if you have imported them to your computer, etc.
If you set up a separate iCloud account, then everything associated with the other iCloud account will no longer be there. Contacts can be preserved by "Keeping them on your Phone" when you delete the original iCloud account (it will ask you if you want to do that). Then, when you add the new iCloud account, you can "Merge" them with that account so you still have them.
Apps are associated with your iTunes account, and you can have a separate iCloud account from your iTunes account (see the section "Using one Apple ID for iCloud and a different Apple ID for Store Purchases":
Using your Apple ID for Apple services
To create a new iCloud account, you are essentially setting up a new Apple ID. Here is another helpful support article about setting up a new iCloud account:

  • TS4036 I had to create a new Apple ID because the previous ID was linked to my daughters phone. Apple ID setup was successful but now I need to know how to backup all my information and create a new iCloud ID because we're sharing storage space.

Had to create a new AppleId because the old one that I had was linked to my daughters IPhone account now that was successful I'm having trouble setting up a new iCloud account under my new apple ID due to it not transferring.

If you have both already been syncing data to the same account and now have merged data, you would have to set up a new account with your new ID, migrate a copy of the data to the new account, then eliminate your daughter's data from your account and vice versa.
To do this, on the phone that will be changing accounts go to Settings>iCloud and turn all data that is syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off.  When prompted choose to keep the data on the iPhone.  After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud.  The other phone will not be effected by this.)  Next, set up the new iCloud account on this phone using the other Apple ID and turn iCloud syncing for for contacts, etc. back to On.  When prompted, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to this new account.  At this point you will have two different iCloud accounts, one for each phone, with identical data on them.
You will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the unwanted data (such as deleting your daughter's contacts from your account, and vice versa).  These changes will be reflected on each phone.  When finished you will have individual iCloud accounts with just your own data on them.

  • Need help linking old Apple ID to new iCloud account.

I recently closed my iCloud account, which was the same email address for my Apple ID for personal reasons.  I was forced to use a new email to open a new iCloud account.  Now I cannot link the two because when I try to add my original Apple ID email address to my new iCloud account, it says my old email is already linked to another account.
How can I back things up to iCloud when the system will not let me link my original Apple ID with a new iCloud account?

When you sign in with a new Apple ID you create a new iCloud account, so if you are signed into a new account, your backups and other synced data will be in the new account, not the old one.  Also, iCloud email accounts cannot be moved to another account.  You can either start using your new iCloud email account, give your contacts your new address and forward email sent to the old address to the new one, or you can add back your old iCloud account as a secondary account on your device by going to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCloud and signing in with your old ID.  You can then turn on Mail in the secondary account and access your old email account on your device again.  The only limitation of this is that email in secondary accounts is fetch, not push email.  Push email is only supported in your primary iCloud account.
