I need a scanner compatible with 10.9

MAC OS 10.9 does not read/connect with my Canon LiDE 50 scanner. I shopped around to buy un updated scanner and couldn't find one that is compatible with 10.9.
Please advise
Fernando

Here is a list of supported Canon scanners pre-installed in OSX 10.9 Mavericks itself :
CanoScan 5600F             find it in the US, UK or Germany
CanoScan 9000F             find it in the US, UK or Germany
CanoScan LiDE 100         find it in the US or Germany
CanoScan LiDE 110         find it in the US, UK or Germany
CanoScan LiDE 200         find it in the US, UK or Germany
CanoScan LiDE 210         find it in the US, UK or Germany
CanoScan LiDE 700F       find it in the US, UK or Germany
I also found other compatible scanners. Google it.

Is CanoScan 8400F scanner compatible with Mac OS 10.9.2 (Mavericks)?

This is not true.  I've been using my 8400F with Mavericks since it was released.  However, mine was an upgrade from 10.8, so whatever drivers Canon installed when I bought the scanner several years ago continues to work.  And my new Mac Pro that I used Migration Assistant with also works with the scanner.  However, the other Mac Pro that was a clean install can't see the scanner and Canon's site claims there are no drivers.

  • Laser printer & Scanner compatible with Mac mini?

I'm currently using an Epson Stylus Photo 820 printer and Epson Perfection 1250 scanner which I had with my iMac on OS9.
I would like suggestions and or recommendations for a reasonably priced laser printer and scanner that would be compatible with my Mac mini.
What are your thoughts on an All-In-One, altho I don't need the FAX.
And would it be a Post-Script printer? As now, when I print from Adobe Photoshop I'm told it will ignore settings as I'm printing to a non post script printer?
    Any information appreciated.

MacMini with Tiger 10.4   Mac OS X (10.4.3)   can contact me direct: [email protected]

    Ruthi,
I personally use a Brother HL-2070N monochrome (black & white) laser printer. Got it at the local office supplier for like $99.
OS X has the proper drivers for it, and although there are no options whatsoever in the Printer Setup, it prints flawlessly. And the pages look how I want them to.
Actually on a WinXP machine I had where there was tons of options that you could set, I could never get it to print this good, or fit it properly to the page.

  • Need a printer compatible with Mac OS 9

    Hi there!
One of my client is trying to find a new printer compatible with mac os 9. I've look around, but only have found printer for Mac OS X. Do you have any ideas? Thanks!!!

    Christian Labbe...
Epson C86 comes into mind but may be thinning out in some areas stock. Epson seems to be pulling away from Mac OS 9 support for some time.
About the only others I have seen is a few Lexmark's like the Z600 series however their cartridges seem overly priced and it is best to get the expensive high yield ones over the moderate yield ones. Another thing about Lexmark, is they may skimp on a cartridge or both from in the box sale, so read the box over carefully.
Do not get me wrong as Lexmark's are a decent printer, however they do have the highest cost per page in printing ever known to the world. If you need to do several copies of something, it may be cheaper for you to make a printable page and photocopy the remainder. Lexmark also doesn' t rely much on Chooser's configurations as they are somewhat a native Desktop USB printer. They can be configured also as a USB Network printer out of the box.

  • Need Sound Card Compatible With Intel D975XBX Mobo and Windows 7

Did a search and no joy. I built a home theater computer about 5 years ago around the D975XBX,? I was using the Sigmatel integrated sound via toslink to my receiver without any problems. I installed W7 yesterday only to find that there are no Intel mobo drivers for W7. So before I go throught he hassle and expense of replacing the mobo and processor, are there any sound cards that are compatible with this mobo and W7? I don't do gaming on this machine, or 3D, mainly 5. out to my receiver. Thanks.
    Tim?

DWell, I'll answer my own question. Finding it very hard to belei've that a driver wasn't available for the Sigmatel, I upgraded the Bios, then did another seach. Cha-ching, money!
I really like SB cards, but I don't like spending money when I don't have to.
Even though Intel said it stopped supporting?the mono?in '08, the bios was an '09 version. This may be helpful to others who are using this mobo.

  • Need DVD Ripper compatible with FCE4

    Hi FCE gurus!
I have a friend who gave me a DVD with her stockpile of clips, and I need to import the video+audio into FCE4 to incorporate into a piece I am making.
I went out to the web, and looked at Mac the Ripper - unfortunately my tech advisors say the software is not very well made, and when it asked for me to install rosetta - i balked, as that is a backward compatible library of code which may affect other applications.
So can anyone recommend a DVD ripping tool that (hopefully is free) is available for download and will work on my macbook pro?
    Many thanks in advance
    Steve

    Tom,
thanks again for your prompt attention.
I do have the free version of MPEG Streamclip, and when I try and load the DVD, it says I need to purchase an add-on for $20. Were you thinking that I should be able to convert the DVD with the free version? Or, do I need the MPEG-2 playback component.
    Steve
Here's what MPEG Streamclip says when I select a DVD that I created with iMovie:
The Apple QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component is not installed...
You will miss the two most important features of MPEG Streamclip:
    - you won't be able to play MPEG-2 files and transport streams;
    - you won't be able to convert MPEG-2 files and transport streams to QuickTime, DV, AVI.
However, all other features are always available, including playback and conversion of MPEG-1 to QuickTime, DV, AVI, demuxing of MPEG-1 and MPEG-2, AC3 decoding, and conversion from transport streams to MPEG files (useful if you have Toast 6).
MPEG Streamclip is free of charge but the MPEG-2 Playback Component has a small price (around $20/£15/€20 in most countries); you can buy it online from Apple:

  • Help, need a card compatible with the Platinum Live bay that uses the SB Live E400 midi dri

Help , have just got a used Soundblaster Li've Platinum card and i/o bay to ease in the production of backing tracks for li've gigs etc, my old card is a li've value soundblaster that uses a Midi driver called SB Li've E400 in addition to the Sb Li've A400 and the B400 which i used to assign soundfonts etc because they are not suitable for bass and drums ,very soft sounding but i need the Sb Li've E400 to get the loud and powerful drum and bass sounds so important for my work, the Platinum set has a card Model number sb0060 and the midi input driver is called MIDI UART with midi outputs being Sb Li've UART which results in no audio o/p if assigned to a midi channel and the Li've synth A and B ,similiar to my li've value card . my Soundblaster value card is a sb0220? allthough the Platinum card is great for plugging guitars straight in and the optical output is great for recording onto mindisc the sound quality is crap, not in the same class as my old li've value card? anyone got any ideas, dont know where to go next? Cheers George.

wouldnt put 2 sound cards in but you could try attaching the sb li've dri've to card, it will either work or it ownt, it will not work with remote, but it may just work as an io panle for your mid etc..
However if it was my hardware i would try as thats my right and my hardware i may break, so you would do this at your own risk.

  • I need bios compatible with celeron E3200/E3300 for P35 neo-f

I need the bios compatible with Celeron E3200 for P35 neo-f, my motherboard is running the latest version of bios

There are 2 P35 Neo MB's. One w/BIOS 2xx and the other w/BIOS 1xx. G33 Neo also has the same BIOS & CPU support as P35 Neo w/BIOS 1xx. From what I see the one w/BIOS 2xx supports it but the one w/BIOS 1xx does not. Best would be to contact MSI with your question and specify which BIOS your MB has. >> G33 Neo <<
This list also shows the difference: >> P35 Neo <<

  • New printer needed - which are compatible?

I have a Mac OS X 10.5.8 and I have to replace my much loved Canon MP 470 printer. As they are no longer available, I would like to get something as close as possible. It needs to be compatible with my Mac, of course. My needs are simple. I don't need wireless. I need a multifunction but without fax. I do not do a lot of printing, seldom more than a few copies at a time. I need it to be a reasonable text and photo printer and a good scanner. Speed of printing is not important and cost of ink should be reasonable. I would like to be able to connect it directly to my computer and not via my modem. I would prefer to stay with Canon but am flexible. Is there such a computer? They all seem to be much more than I need. I am confused by different cables. Which kind do I need? All suggestion gratefully received. Thanks.

The latest version of the MP470 is the MP495. Not sure if you have this model in Canada so here is a link to its info from the Canon Australia web site.
    http://www.canon.com.au/en-AU/For-You/Printers/PIXMA-InkJet-Printers/MP495
Looking at the specs this model does have built-in wireless. This would require you to have a wireless router (also known as an access point). You mention a modem so if this is actually a router rather than the good old fashioned dial-up modem then you could be able to connect this device to the modem without needing any cables.
But you do also mention they you don't want to use your modem and would be happy connecting the printer directly to your Mac via a USB cable. Therefore the MP280 is basically the same model as the MP495 but without wireless support.

  • Printers compatible with OS 10.8, printers compatible with OS 10.8

Need an all in one printer scanner compatible with OS 10.8 and readign about many problems. Any advice? Thanks.

Thanks. Does it scan? I have read of problems with the scanning function.
    From HP
A scan driver is not included in the Apple Software Update for Mountain Lion for your printer. You will no longer be able to scan with your printer when you install the HP driver update with Apple Software Update.

  • Hello, I just found out that my newest version of Firefox 5.0 is not compatible with the LinkedIn companion toolbar. Any ideas? Thanks in advance and best regards

Firefox 5.0 for Mac 10.6 not compatible with LinkedIn companion toolbar

You got it backwards, add-ons need to be compatible with Firefox, not the other way around. When Firefox is updated, the add-on needs to be updated.
The Firefox version of that toolbar, available from here - http://www.linkedin.com/static?key=browser_toolbar_download - and here - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/linkedin-companion-for-firefox/- hasn't been updated for Firefox 5.0 yet.
You can force "compatibility" with this extension, but if that extension isn't coded correctly for Firefox 5.0, it ain't gonna fix it. <br />
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ <br />
You'll have to see how well that add-on works in Firefox 5.0.
Of course, you can ask LinkedIn when they plan to update their add-on.

  • I need a wireless usb adaptor for a Power Mac G4... any suggestions? (needs to be compatible)

I need a wireless usb adaptor for a Power Mac G4... any suggestions? (needs to be compatible)

With Mac OS X 10.3 or higher, a number of USB Wi-Fi adapters would be possible to use. However, for an earlier operating system, a wireless Ethernet bridge (such as the examples below) can be a better (and sometimes the only) option. A wireless Ethernet bridge does not normally require special drivers, and can thus be used with almost any Ethernet-equipped computer.

    Daniel Craigie-
How full is the hard drive that you are trying to save to? Not that it should matter, but have you tried scanning another document?
Is the scanner plugged directly into the Mac? Try it that way.
Disconnect all peripherals except keyboard, monitor, mouse and scanner and see if the problem goes away.

  • Is the NI 1426 frame grabber compatible with a Line/Linear array scanner?

Is the NI 1426 frame grabber compatible with a Line/Linear array scanner?
I am currently doing a feasibility study of project which uses NI 1426 frame grabber and a Linear Array Scanner, and I would like to know if they are compatible with each other.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi sandeepchinni,
I agree with gunnesjr that we need more information about what you mean by Linear Array Scanner.  Like he said if it is a line or area scan camera then yes it will most likely be compatible.  A little correction from what he said.  You do not need to purchase NI Vision if all you need to do is acquire images.  The framegrabber will come with the software that is need to work.  If you need to do any kind of image processing then you will need NI Vision.  The following knowledgebase lists what is installed with driver for the card.  Which Vis are Installed with NI-IMAQ and Vision Acquisition Software?
