I need a student well versed in Illustrator to finish a project

I began a book project about 4 years ago and had a illustrator who produced 200+ illustrations for me before dissapearing off the face of the earth! I'd like to finish the project so I need someone versed in Illustrator to finish about 100 illustrations. I can pay $5.00 per illustration and provide a photograph to work from and you will need to be able to copy the style of the first guy so they look seamless. You will get a credit in the book and a copy for your files.

Did you mean $50 per illustration?
Without seeing your samples, I have to assume that a good illustrator will likely take several hours per illustration. That would mean $15 or fewer dollar/hour, which is quite low for illustration work. Not to mention, the added requirement of matching someone else's style will make this job harder, not easier.
At $5 per drawing, even if each one took only two hours, that's $2.50/hour. It's going to be hard to find someone willing to work for so little.

Posing a question for those well versed in flash and flex

I would like to start an off-line communication chat with those of you who are well versed in Flash and Flex.
I've worked with Cold Fusion but I am not up to date on all the technologies available. This seems like the perfect forum for this question.
I simply want to build an application (web or desktop is unknown) in which a person can learn a foreign language, in this case English.
I need some technical advice as to whether Flash, Flex, or a combination of technologies (Cold Fusion for server side functionality) is the best choice for this application. I do not understand the technical aspects of Flash or Flex in building applications so I need the advice of you experts.
As with most foreign language textbooks, audio, or foreign language video training, the material is not interesting, not pertinent to daily life, and is great for late night insomnia. I've never seen any type of foreign language training that is interesting, fun, or uses current events as part of the curriculum.
I would like to illustrate my idea with an example. I want to use an existing English beginners textbook (for kids), scan the images in the textbook, store the content (rules of grammar) in a database and store example sentences in a database.
I would like to record basic audio sentences from the textbook (Do you know tomorrow's weather), incorporate some animation (baseball player hitting a home run), incorporate some basic video (purchasing an item at the grocery store), add a quiz, test question or puzzles, etc..
In addition, since this is a classroom setting and the kids are split into groups, I would like to store a seating chart with the kids names and pictures in a database. After the first segment is finished (e.g. purchasing a toy at the store) the kids next perform an activty. I want to use a combination of audio, video, and animation to explain the activity, give instructions, split the class into groups,and perform the activity.
As I mentioned before, I would like to start an off-line discusion for those of you who are willing to share some of you knowledge and experience with both Flash and Flex. Since you are extremely busy, maybe you might be able to point me in the right direction.
Hopefully, some of you can provide some sound technical advice.

This is an abitious project even for some-one well versed in flex/flash, i have to give you points for outstanding courage on this .
You need to cover quite a few areas in a project like this both for the client and the back end, you need a strong understanding of animation(either through code or the flash timeline), data parsing, logic trees for the quiz/test elements and a lot more before the first line of code would be written.
In Australia there are already a few companies using flex for online educational applications and at least 1 state educational Authority. A search on the internet will find several sites pertaining to flash/flex based online education software and this would be a starting point to give you an idea of the strength flex has in this area.
Beyond this it is not the sort of project that 'help' would be readily available for unless it was relating to very specific issues you could readily define. Also this is not the best forum to request this type of help as the forum is more about testing a beta product. I am sure that if you start learning about flex and have trouble understanding different aspects of how things work there will be plenty of support from the flex community.

Help! Installed CS4 student edition, but only Illustrator appeared!

Hi! I recently installed the CS4 student edition, but only Illustrator appears in 'Applications.' A lot of the files associated with Photoshop and In Design are on the computer, but not the programs themselves. I wonder if this has to do with the fact I downloaded trial versions of Photoshop and In Design, but deleted them when I was ready to install CS4. They are no longer in trash.

If you deleted them by simply dragging them to the trash, then yes, that
would explain it. Those application need to be uninstalled, not trashed.

the reason is simple. I can probably guess that we are at least 10 time zones from each other. I am currently in Tokyo Japan; just moved last year because of my Japanese wife.
Meeting face to face is virtually impossible and the time zones make a telephone call impratical.
My English training idea stems from the fact that kids in Japan study English for 6 years. This is mandatory. After 6 years of studying any subject matter, you certainly should know it fairly well. In Japan, the education system stresses grammar, not conversation. The kids can read and write English fairly well, but can't speak much English.
This seems extremely strange; judging by the high level of science and mathematics taught in school. The system of English education is extremely broken in Japan. Everybody laughs when I tell them learning to read and write a foreign language is more important that speaking the foreign language. Well, that's how it is in Japan. I am making it my personal quest to break this broken system and give them something that is sorely needed in Japan.
Anyway, that is too much information about what I am trying to do.
If you can point me in the right direction, I would be eternally grateful. I also forgot to ask how Adobe Captivate might fit into all this. I notice Adobe carries a suite of e-learning products. My idea is to be interactive and fun, not so much a slide presentation look and feel.

File>Open to open your eps file
File>Export to export your image as a jpg.
In the export dialog box just below where you type in the filename is a file type, that is where you choose jpg.
What ever you do, do not delete the eps file. Should you ever need to access the original you will have have.
I recommend that instead of jpg you choose psd, tiff, or png and use jpg only for sharing. Jpg is a lossy format meaning each time you edit the file and save it, the quality of that file degrades. The formats I recommend are lossless formats, you can edit them all you want no data is being discarded unless you choose to do so.

I had a year long CC membership that expired at the beginning of the October.
After realizing that, I attempted to start a free trial of photoshop to work on a project. My Adobe account states that i'm on a trial, but my (Mac) dashboard CC app won't allow me to start the program. I have reinstalled both Creative Cloud and Photoshop CC but still get this message.

you don't need a cc subscription to use the purchased copy.
download the installation file and use your serial number to activate when given the licensing option during installation. you should install 5.7 instead of installing 5.0 and updating.

I need to know how to add closed captioning in a project in Adobe Captivate 6. It is a software demo single recording. I don't see where to go to create closed captions or change accessilbity preferences.

First thing that you need to do is go to Project > Skin editor > and check the box for Closed Captioning button in playbar.
A slide must have a slide audio or Slide Video to add CC notes in it.
Go to Windows > Slide notes, to view the slide notes panel, and click on + sign to add Closed captioning notes.
