I need advice on which Adobe product to buy?!

Hi,
I have been given the task of creating flyers promoting our European Road Freight services.  I am looking for the best programme to support this task.
Essentially, what I am after is cropped images of European Countries, ie flag maps which I can super impose on a European map background, etc.
Any kind advise, hints and tips would be super, thanks!

If you are on a budget, only buy what you can afford.  You may want the larger screen to see the photos better.  Also, the 15" comes with the option of a glossy screen, a high-resolution glossy screen or a high resolution anti-glare screen.  The 13" only comes in glossy.

  • Need help deciding which adobe product to purchase (Photoshop or Illustrator)

    hello,
I am about to be given the task of creating the graphics for my company on a specific task.
We recently got a new printer to create cards with and before now, everyone has been running into trouble getting clean, accurately colored prints for these cards, and I am being given the task of creating them and need to decide what program I will need to achieve this.
What happens, is a company orders a set of cards and sends their graphic, which I will be receiving at a different size than will be needed for printing, so I need to enlarge it, which distorts the colors.
Also, on almost all of the images, I will be needing to add some words to the graphic before printing it, like the company name or address etc. but then occasionally, I am given some general images and generic instructions which I need to follow in order to create the graphic.
So, I was thinking that photoshop would help me to refill the colors after resizing an image, or when I need to create the graphic mostly myself, yet I will be having difficulty creating the words required.
But then illustrator would be giving me excelent fonts and words since its a vector program, yet I believe I will run into problems colorizing my graphics once resized.
So, what does everyone think would be the better option here?
Or what would be a good work around for either photoshop or illustrator that would help me resolve the problems arrising because I do not have the other?
Or what are some other potential problems I might possibly run into?

    Well exactally,
Being the economic misfortune that hit the country, my company doesn't have the funds to pay for a professional and they are trying to find a way to keep the project inside the building.
me being 20 years old and wishing to pursue a career in graphic design sees this as a great opportunity to learn alot about printmaking as well as how to use graphic editing programs on a level higher than taught in school.
My boss is wanting me, and going to pay for me, to go under several hours of training to accomplish what needs to be done, but like I said, I am given the task of trying to figure out what kind of software I am going to need for the task, which is why I am here asking about the programs.
Also, it is kind of my first attempt at trying to further understand exactally what each of the programs do, and so far, I have learned quite alot by searching around and asking what other people think.
So, If you don't find it to be too hard to put your opinions or thoughts about how I could best accomplish creating the cleanest cards I would greatly appreciate it.
    Sincerely,
    BeeHiver

  • Customising leaflets - which Adobe product is best?

    Hi
We have around 250 leaflets that we need to customise quickly for around 100 customers. The customisations are straightforward - placing a logo (jpeg) at the top and some text at the end.
The leaflets themselves are not complicated and follow a standard 2-column design mainly text with two or three illustrations.
I'm not a developer and we're looking for an off-the-shelf solution that is easy to use.
I need some advice on which Adobe product is best for us.
    Thanks!

For the time spent learning how to use Illustrator and the cost of it you could probably hire a professional.
If you want to do it yourself for a small company, avoid Adobe all together unless you want to use their 30 day trails - google it for info.
Gimp is good, free, simple. http://www.gimp.org/downloads/
And as above, Publisher and Expression design can be OK - generally it's what you do with the software not the software itself.

  • Which Adobe product do I need to be able to measure off square footage on construction drawings

Which Adobe product do I need to be able to measure off square footage on construction drawings

Acrobat has a measuring tool; you can download a fully functional trial from https://www.acrobat.com/free-trial-download.html
Note: you cannot "upgrade" Reader to Acrobat; they are two different products.

  • Is it still possible to attach sticky notes to a pdf file? Which Adobe product will enable this?

Is it still possible to attach sticky notes to a pdf file? Which Adobe product do I need to do this?

Both Acrobat and Reader 10/11 can, and previous versions of Reader can if the document is enabled to allow it. Mobile versions of Reader can too.

  • I want to scan typed documents to Word for Mac and change them. Which Adobe product is best for this?  This is not my area of expertise.  Thank you.

Can someone tell me which Adobe product to use?  I'm compiling a manuscript of poems and short stories for a friend, which are typed and handwritten and I need to edit them.  Thank you.

Scanning to Word won't do what you want.
You see, a scan of a page is just like a photograph of it. You have photos of letters and stuff, but no actual letters. There is a special process called "optical character recognition" (OCR) which analyses the picture in detail, and decides - hey that pattern of dots looks like it might be a letter A - and that would could be an S... it is difficult and time consuming but if the original is clear then you can get a lot of text text with the need only for careful proof reading.
Check the software which came with the scanner first. It may well offer options for OCR. Yes, Adobe Acrobat Pro can do this, but you have unnecessary complication, because you'll then need to get the text out from Acrobat to begin the tedious process of typesetting each page. To be honest, you might find retyping everything the quickest and most reliable approach. If you aren't already experienced in dealing with long documents in Word you are in for a long haul. Back up a lot, so you don't lose everything due to a mistake.
(I'm assuming you don't want a "facsimile" - a warts-and-all exact copy of each original page, as typed and scribbled, with no changes at all - that would be a different story).

  • Which Adobe product should I use ?

    Hi!
I'm going to generate, merge and put a waterstamp on PDF's. I want to do that from C# code on a 64-bit server. There is no need for a GUI.
Which Adobe product can help me do hat ?
    Regards
    Wiggur

    Hi Wiggur!!
All you said is possilbe by creating Actions in Acrobat X. That will be a silent process and will do everything automatically. Installation of Acrobat on servers depends on the license that you purchase. But certainly you can do that. That will be a silent process and you can call those actions by any programming language, i guess!

  • Which Adobe product can create a PDF that cannot be altered or printed by the recipient?

Which Adobe product can create a PDF that cannot be altered or printed by the recipient?

    Hi quoman,
It sounds like you're asking how to add security to a PDF file. You'll need Acrobat Pro or Standard to do that. If you don't have Acrobat, you may try it for free for 30 days. See www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html for more information.

  • I need to know which install disk to buy for my mac serial number 17*****ZE4

Need to know which install disk to buy since I lost my original.
    <Edited by Host>

You have an 24" Early 2008 iMac. It came with Mac OS X 10.5, and you would need the disk set for your specific model. It's possible that if you call Apple Support, they can still sell you a set, but that model of iMac is no longer supported by Apple so Support may not be able to help. If not, then you'll need to look to private sellers or companies that sell obsolete software.
You can also call the online Apple Store and purchase a retail copy of Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
    Regards.

  • Which Adobe product is best for me?

My wife and I are in the travel business.  I like to make 8½ x 11 flyers for our cruise promotions.  I start with a blank page and add images and text to make a composite, and then save it off in pdf.  I've been using an old XP version of Microsoft Picture It! running in XP Mode on Windows 7.  I need to upgrade to something more modern that will handle eps files, etc. I'm not a graphic designer, so the Adobe product line is confusing for me.  So which product would be best for me, the cheaper the better?  Thanks

  • Which Adobe Product For Videos Editing

    Hi,
I have always been a huge fan of adobe but currently I am in a bad situation and I need your suggestion.
I am now put incharge of the video editing department, where our company make videos and send it to clients. It's a multinational company so imagine the professional customer.
The Videos will include Power Point presentation capture with Audio and a huge amount of Video Camera movies.
Our Company Manager suggesting Camtasia, Sony but I heard Adobe has a very good product as well.
Kindly suggest what Adobe Product and Version can support my requirement and also is it better and easy to operate than the above two products.
    Thanks...
    Waiting for your honest replies...

    @Smith, John and Hunt.
Thanks alot, I was not expecting such a comprehensive and awesome replies.
    Thanks alot..
Received a call from Manager and we will be using Two Technologies :), PowerPoint Capture will be done by Camtasia as we are already using it and have recently upgraded from 6 to 7.
@John I am abit confused on your last statement. Can you please explain it abit.
Let me clarify more my requirements:
We will be shooting on a 720P Camera or Cam Corders and I guess it's HD.
We will be conducting Interviews and more Class room trainings on a White Board.
We will capture that and remove the noisy or unwanted part and then distribute it online as well as on CD's or DVD's.
I guess it's pretty much simple.
So please give me your Final suggestions:
Director or Premiere Pro + Encore or Premiere Elements.

  • Which Adobe product?

Hi, I run a website www.biblestudiesonline.org.uk which offers original Biblical commentary for most New Tesament verses. I want to create an app which I can embed on the homepage of my site (which will soon be using HTML5).
The app should retrieve (and display on the same page) data from a database when certain keywords are inserted into a text field. For example, if a user types 'Matt 5:23', 'Matthew 5.23' 'Mat 5v23' or other such combinations, I want the app to display the content relevant to the twenty third verse of the fifth chapter of the Gospel of Matthew on my homepage.
I also want the app to work across all platforms.
Is there an  ADOBE product that will let me build this (I have almost no developer skills?)
OR does ADOBE have a commercial divsion, or if not (dare I say it) does anyone know of another company that could provide me with an estimated price for delivering such an app? I'd probably have to save a lot of my dimes for a while...
    Mathew Bartlett
PS we don't have dimes over here.

    Hello,
The "Just Say It" box with the video in it is made with
    Flash.
    Probably Photoshop for the graphics.
    Take care,

  • Which Adobe product should be use to create interactive presentations?

We have an interactive presentation that we developed for a client a few years ago in Flash. The client is concerned that Jobs has hurt the future of Flash as a development tool. Is there another Adobe product that we should switch to or is Flash still the premier product? Note: I need something sophisticated enough to do complex animations (many moving parts with masks). Play back has to look good with possible auto and video intergration. At the moment mobile/tablet is not an issue but may be desired in the future.

    Two primary considerations, IMO.
    1. If the product is already developed in Flash, and still works fine for all target devices, and maybe just occasional/simple updates are needed here and there..
    2. If mobile delivery of the product is not at all required.
    Then stick with Flash.
BUT if mobile is going to be a targeted platform, or the product needs a significant revision, then consider another approach.
Tools like Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, and Trivantis Lectora are solid tools for creating HTML5 (mobile-compatible) content...but since HTML5 support and the spec itself are still evolving, there are certainly more limitations on animation, interactivity, etc.
So the longer you can hold out updating the product to HTML5, using whatever tool you prefer, the better...but on the other hand, balance that against the efforts and updates you put into a Flash-based project that's likely going to have a limited future.

  • Which Adobe product takes over vdeos?

I downloaded some Adobe product and now all of my videos have an adobe symbol and are not accessable.  Any dea what I need to remove?

    Hi Ralph
Thanks for the additional info.I'm not certain what operating system you are on. I'm a PC and a big ole Mac ignoramous. So I'm not sure if Mac will behave as PC (Windows) does.
IF you are using a PC, what does it show when you right-click one of the videos and examine the properties? I'll post a screen capture of my own properties dialog for a .MPG file type.
See the button labeled Change? Click that and you are able to choose any other application that you want for playing the video.
Sorry, but I'm not thinking any of the applications you listed should have caused a change to the file association. Obviously SOMETHING changed it, but I'd be hard pressed to say what.
Hopefully something here will help or possibly someone else will have a different idea of what to try.
    Cheers... Rick
