Again, you clearly don't know much of what you are espousing here.  Click this link which was updated today and tell me where you can validate your claim that apple owns 65% of the mobile market.  I'm sure they wish they did, but they clearly don't.

1.3% is mobile.
67% of that is IOS
Around 0.75% of all internet traffic belongs to IOS.

  • I need to install an App that will work with my iOS. How do I get an earlier App that is not now in the App Store?

I have an iPod Touch that can only run iOS 3.1.3. I have had Zinio & PressReader (both free Apps) installed on it for many years, and subscribe to a number of Magazines and Newspapers. I had backed up the iPod in September 2012. Today, I had to restore the iOS from the backup, but saw that Zinio and PressReader had not been installed. I am aware that the iTunes store explains that the latest versions are for iOS 4.3, but I need the latest version that will work with my iPod on iOS 3.1.3.
Does anyone know how I can get hold of the earlier versions of the "ipa" files, short of asking the publishers themselves?
And, should I expect the Publishers to release the appropriate ipa to me?

You aren't being left in any lurch. Your hardware is obsolete, and the software world has moved on. If you have a qualm about the matter then discuss it with the software's developers. Apple is not responsible for software they do not develop. This is technology, and you will just need to get used to it.

  • Need advice re: Lightscribe drive that will work in Mac Pro

I have the stock superdrive in my Mac Pro upper slot. I had a three year old LaCie 16x Lightscribe Drive that I took from my G5 and installed it in the lower slot. I could not get the MacPro to recognize it. I triple checked the cable connects, tried Cable Select and Slave jumper settings, installed the latest LaCie system extensions for the drive, but it still will not recognize it. It does not show up in Disk Utility or anywhere else.
So.... I bought the Lite-On DH-20A4H08C drive from Amazon. Put it in (Cable Select) mode, and the Mac Pro recognized it right away. The problem is that the tray in the Lite-On drive sits too low in the chassis, and when ejecting, it catches on the drive door of the Mac Pro - sometimes it can get out all the way under it's own power, sometimes I have to pull it out. It retracts pretty much OK. I'm not into the stress that this misaligned drive is putting on components, so I plan to return it.
Can anyone recommend an IDE Lightscribe Drive that will work in the Mac Pro and where the tray will eject nicely through the seemingly slimmed drive doors on the Mac Pro? If not IDE, can I use a SATA Lightscribe Drive? I understand there are two SATA ports on the motherboard beneath the back of the optical drive enclosure.
Looking for some positive experiences here please?
    thx -b

Well, I found the fix! I ditched the Lite-On and continued fiddling with my better fitting LaCie drive and I found that the LaCie drive has to be in the upper bay (i.e. first in the chain) for it to work. The SuperDrive had to be moved to the lower bay (last on the chain). I have no idea why this is, but swapping positions causes the LaCie drive to be invisible to the Mac Pro. Of course, both drives are set to Cable Select. Even LaCie tech support (which was very responsive BTW) were scratching their heads.

  • I need an ipad 2 app that will plot dimensions during a site visit. App builders?

    Hi there,
I am a landscape gardener based in the (metric) UK and I am trying to find an app that will help me when I visit a new customer to plot the garden on a page that I can print or share later.
This is my idea of the app I am looking for.
I want a page of grid paper on which I can set points as the outline of the garden.
This is std grid paper, the type with the large squares in heavy ink and the internal divisions in lighter ink.
I would like to be able to set the dimensions of the grid to 1 metre squares and the internal divisions to 100 mm.
I would like to, for example in a square garden, set 4 corner points and know the area of this square.
I would like to, be able to trace features within the garden into the square. These are things like flower beds, lawns, paths, trees etc.
I would like to, know the areas of these features within the garden.
I would like to, be able to see the measurements between objects and along the lines of features in the garden, and areas of each feature including total area.
I would like to, be able to add notes to annotate specific features or areas or thoughts.
Now that is the basic drawing of a garden that you visit app.
We move on to the advanced (paid) version here.
I would like to, be able to include changes in elevation. I dont need 3D capability, but I do need to include details of slopes, terraces, sheds etc. I can measure horizontal distance and drop and would like some way of including these measurements into the new plotted garden.
Essentially, I would like an app that can easily plot the area, size and elevation of a garden I visit so that when I get home I can recreate the garden in Sketchup.
I have tried searching for this app to no avail, there are design apps but they appear to be interior based. Design your room, visualise your project etc.
So, the big question is, do you know of an app like this? Or do you fancy building one?
I imagine there is a market for this app given the amount of search results I have, while searching for my perfect app,  from forums detailing others search for the same app.
So I challenge you to suggest the perfect existing app, or, build one.
Should you wish to build one, and would like a consultant, let me know in this thread and we can exchange emails. My rates are very reasonable.
Looking forward to a solution to my problem.
    Bo

  • Need to create a function that will act like the save as browser function

I need to create a button on a web page that will open up a save dialog box and then save the current web page as an .html file on the persons hard drive. The reason for this is because the window is a pop up that does not have the browser menu or any toolbars showing just the what we call print view. This window was used only as a print view so people can print the form out but now the powers that be want a save button as well so the people can save it to there HD. I can do this in IE using javascript but no other browser allows that so I need to create something in java. I have read about the setHeader() to download the file but I am sort of new and from what I've read it all sounds like you will be downloading a specific file and not the web page as a file. Anyone have any ideas as to how I can accomplish this? It doesn't have to be the save as dialog box just a way the person can get the current web page on their HD for viewing offline and done at the press of a button. Thanks.

You'll be wanting to output a PDF or the like instead of a web page. That's the solution to your problem.
Please next time consider using a line break or two when you post. Thank you for your consideration.

  • Need ADF login backing bean that will work with WebSphere

I'm working on an ADF app in the Fusion Middleware stack and have implemented a login backing bean according to this doc:
Fusion Developer's Guide for Oracle ADF, Chapter 30: "+Enabling ADF Security in a Fusion Web Application.+"
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/web.1111/b31974/adding_security.htm#BGBFJJJH
However, the use of weblogic.servlet.security.ServletAuthentication requires the weblogic.jar on the classpath.
Is there a viable alternative that is container-agnostic? Something that could work in WebSphere and WebLogic?

    Hi Frank,
I've been following breadcrumbs this morning from http://andrejusb.blogspot.com/2011/05/oracle-webcenter-11g-ps3-adf-security.html to Bug 9444998 to the LoginBackingBean.java code referred to in in the bug fix notes. (I don't know if it's appropriate to post the code here, so I'll just refer to it.)
It looks like that code could be reasonably generic-ized to remove the Webcenter-specific i18n code. The rest of it appears to just have a dependency on the JRF library's ServerPlatformSupportFactory in order to discover what container is being used. If the container is WAS or something else, the code does a login (and session creation, it seems) using the j_security_check servlet.
Do you see any issues with this approach?

  • Can anyone tell me how to get a browser that will work like explorer? I'm trying to access a web page and it tells me browser not supported.

Need help with TMA login from iPad. Works with tablets and android but not with apple

I hate browser-specific web sites. They're usually nothing but lazy programming.
Anyway, there are third-party web browers in the iTunes Store that have a setting that will report the browser as being a different one. iCab Mobile comes to mind and there are probably others. You can try one of those, setting it to report as IE, and see if that site will then work.
If, however, the site is using Microsoft-specific technologies, then you won't be able to use that site from your iPad. The only workaround would be to use one of the remote-control solutions to take control of a computer running Internet Explorer.
    Regards.

  • Off Topic - Web music player that will work on an iPad / iWeb

After a bunch of other googling I figure someone on this forum would know the answer.
I'm looking for a way to embed a playlist into a iWeb page so it will play on the iPad/iPhone browser. Certainly I'm not the only person who wants to do this --- but I haven't had any luck figuring it out.
Helpful suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Check out the web-based "listen&rate" music player for iPad http://listen.MX
Note this is just tech preview and it looks ok on iPad screen only. So don't be scared with what you may see trying to browse http://listen.mx with your desktop or notebook

  • I would like to listen to rhapsody on my iPod, but i can't seem to download a flash player that will work

How do you download a flash player onto an ipod touch?

    You don't.
There is no flash player for ipod.  Adobe does not make one.
You cannot download anyhitng from the internet onto the iphone.  The ONLY apps come from the app store in itunes.

  • DVD player that will work with a portable hard drive

I have a large collecion of movie on my hard drive. I am interested in purchasing a new DVD player and am interested in being able to transfer movies from my computer to a western digital / My passbook portable USB hard drive. and play them directly from the had drive without burning them to a DVD disk. Any suggestions?

I think some DivX-certified players can play DivX content from USB storage devices and not just disc media.  Anything that works with thumb drives should work with external hard drives.
One exception:  2.5" hard drives need a LOT of power from the USB port, some players might not like this.  3.5" hard drives with an external power supply are a safe bet with anything that supports thumb drives.
A PS3 will definitely do the trick.  Many Blu-Ray players are likely to do it too.  BBY lists 41 Blu-Ray players with USB ports - but on some of those the USB port may only be for WiFi, not sure.

  • I need a list of printers that will work with Mac 9.1.

The 2 printers I have bought for my iMac 9.1 have permanently crashed and I need to see a list of under $150 printers that are compatible. I want something like the discontinued hp 4215. I was oblivious to this problem and purchased a hp 4315 that won't work and the store where I got the product was of no help in finding me something that is compatible. I appreciate all suggestions, but both my Brother MFC-3220c and an HP $49 printer broke on me. I hear Epson might work better for me. Thanks for your help!!
iMac OS 9.1   Mac OS 9.1.x

Hey Jeff: Thanks for the info. I will check on eBay and see what I find. I have been looking for over a month and had no idea that the 9.1 was so extinct! I am currently looking for a job and you really need a printer for resumes, cover letters,etc...and I am tired of trecking off to the library. Thanks again. Ray

  • Need suggestions for photo printer that will work with a dedicated HP G4050 scanner on Windows 7

I was told by HP Tech Support that they didn't recommend I try to run an all-in-one printer and a dedicated scanner on the same PC.  Dilemma is that most photo printers sold today are also all-in-ones.   Also, many all-in-ones don't seem to rate very high on photo quality.   Do I end up buying two printers - one for text and another for photos or what?
Your input is welcome as I've researched this problem for a long time and don't know what printer to buy!  Thank you.

Yes, I do know that; but the basic driver doesn't allow all of the menu options on the printer to work.  For instance, it won't tell me how much ink is left in each cartridge, etc.
I'm debating whether to just keep my old Photosmart 8150 and keep plugging along until it dies and then worry about replacing it OR keep looking for a new one.
Problem is that HP Tech Support told me that they DON'T recommend I use an all-in-one printer AND a dedicated scanner together due to possible software issues.  Since most of the photo printers made this year seem to be AIO's it's been a very difficult experience finding an older printer that has a Full Solution Driver in WIN 7 and/or 8!  Oh, you can find some but they cost an arm and a leg even at used prices!
Anyone with experience using an HP dedicated scanner AND a printer is welcome to jump in and give me some feedback. Thank you so much!  : )
