If I want to carve off part of a library, I presume the way to do this is to make a copy of the library using PLM then go into iPhoto and delete what I don't want. The result is the carved off portion.
You don't need Library Manager to delete the portion you don't want.
As a general rule: when deleting photos do them in batches of about 100 at a time. iPhoto can baulk at trashing large numbers at one go.
If I want to merge two libraries, PLM implies that it will do this but will the Faces be merged too?

Added many items to my iTunes wish list last night but today it is empty?

Hi,
I added lots of items to my iTunes wish list using my AppleTV last night but today when I went to check my wish list using iTunes on my desktop it is empty - does anyone know any reason why this might happen?

The older version of iTunes does not read the wish list from AppleTV, 11.1.4 finally supports wish list. I'm trying now to find out if here if I have to upgrade my firmware for iTunes to see it.

I've noted before when I updated the firmware the wish list was vanquished from the AppleTV.

HT1368 Buying only specific items from my iTunes Wish List

iTunes 11.0.2.26 on a Windows 7 pc.
I have a whole lot of items in my iTunes "Wish List" but I only want to buy two or three of those items now. What do I do?
Itunes only appears me to give me the option to:
a) buy ALL the items that I've added to My Wish List or
b) buy each item individually
If I go to Edit / Preferences and click the Store tab I DO NOT have the "Buy using a Shopping Cart" option.
How do I purchase JUST the items that I want to purchase now, without having to purchase each one of them separately?

Movie Rentals added to my wish list no longer have a rent button

Moives I have added to my wish list to rent later still show in my wish list, but when they are selected the "rent" button is no longer there on some of them. What would cause a movie that was available for rent to no longer be available?

I just went through my wishlist and removed several movies that appear to no longer be available for rent. Sorry Apple. You and your studio friends just lost about $50 I was willing to give you, just from my current wishlist. Most of the movies I wanted to rent were definitely not "buy worthy"... but I would have been worth spending $5 to rent. Now that option is gone, and so is the revenue you could have gotten on me for those movies. Seems weird I can't rent movies from your movie rental service, and most new releases seem to disappear within the few weeks it usually takes for me to catch up and have some time to view them. Anyway Apple. Your loss.

Is there any way to force iPhoto to present faces by folder for identification rather than randomly? Would provide better context for identification especially if a huge number of images is involved.

Before I commit the time and energy required to load and tag faces in 25,000 images within iPhoto, I need some questions answered;
Is there any way to force iPhoto to present faces by folder for tagging rather than randomly? When so many images need tagging, over many years, the context of a folder helps with the identification. The work around is to load the images into iPhoto one folder at a time and do the tagging then.
How do I get iPhoto to present the tagged faces by last name rather than first name? When so many faces will be identified, it is much easier to find people by surname, particularly when I share the library within the family. The work around is to enter names as last name and first name. Being able to toggle the sort is much more desireable.
Is there a way to export a portion of the library including faces? I want to pass on portions of this huge 125 GB library to my family members.
Since my family members will need an Apple computer to view the images and faces, they will likely have their own photo library. So is there any way to combine two libraries and merge the faces?

Why can't i add any app on ios to wish list?

Many apps r big to download via 3G so i would like to add that app in my wish list to download later

Probably because those app you want to install requires IOS 4.3 or higher.
Your phone is at the highest IOS, you'll need to purchase a 3GS or higher iphone.

Is there any way of creating a wish list?

I often see songs I would like to purchase but not at the time I see them and would like to compile a list which I can then add to and purchase at a later stage. Is there any way of doing this within I Tunes or do I have to have loads of stickies on my desktop!

Just create a playlist entitled "wish list". You can drag unpurchased tunes into there and buy them when you want. Note however, that racks don't always stay in the iTMS forever.

Adding Audiobooks To wish list ?

Hi Just trying out iTunes 9.
I have tried to add an Audiobook to my wish list in the same way as you would add an album, but it does not give you the option to "add to wish list"
Am I doing it the wrong way ?

Go itunes store> Type the name of the book in the "search" box
The book should be listed under "audiobooks"
(DON'T CLICK ON THE BOOK it'll take you to the detail page where there is no way to add to wish list)
Is there a "box" with a pull down menu next to the name of the book?
Should say $price BUY BOOK and a down pointing triangle.
Click on the triangle (don't hold down, quick one click) ... does it say "Add to wish list"?

Any way to get folio to render buttons in vector rather than raster?

Just curious if there is any way to get a folio to render a button in vector rather than raster format? I know with multi-state objects there is a nice little setting to tell it to use vector... but nothing for buttons that I can find?! I just don't like how some buttons end up looking on the Retina display on iPad...

Adding a printer - To save to a file rather than Print Output

Does anyone know a way of adding a printer to Solaris, that when a job is sent to it, rather than print it, it creates a txt/pdf file?

Wish to include Posting Periods rather than hard coded Dates

Hi Guys,
I have this query that I would like to have it look for the financial year based on the posting periods rather than hard code in the year - i.e 2011. The reason being that the financial year is from 1st October to 30th September, so my query below will not give me accurate information when going from December to January as the Year is Hard Coded in currently.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can achieve this, I must admit to be totaly stuck.

Hi,
From the transaction NACE, get the print program attached to your output type "ZL10". If you can read the code, please set a break point and see how it is determined in the delivery note output. Then check why it is not coming for your packing note.
If not ask your ABAP developer to check same for you!

Wish list-Channel display, need more favorites, need easier navigation to delete and view

1) Whenever I change channels, I get an info overlay that shows time, channel, and brief info--it fills about lower 1/4 of screen and does not go away for 5-6 seconds. How to get rid of this display or display for 1-2 seconds so I can see what is on the screen. If I want to know what channel and info, I can always hit info button..........??
or allow a "display channel only" option in modes (e.g., show HD channels only mode) or allow as a setup option to reduce the footprint/area of this info

3)Need better management options re choosing & deleting recorded program to get away from time consuming drop down lists and subcategories e.g. all recorded: alphabetically or by date

If you hit the EXIT button on the lefthand side of the remote next to the circle of Arrow Buttons, it will immediately remove the info. There is a way to change the amount of time this info stays on the screen (I changed mine way back when I first switched to FIOS), but I don't remember how. Found it somewhere in the menu selections - I think for the remote or maybe the display sections. Anyway, it's in there! Hope that helps.

Is there any way to close just the "current tab" in firefox rather than all 3 or 4 that may be open and lose the entire web page?

If I am on a website and open a few different pages, and then decide to go back to an earlier page, or close that particular page, I get a message that says you are about to close 3 tabs or 4 tabs etc. If I only want to close the "current tab" I am on, I was able to do that with Internet Explorer. Is there any way this can be done on Firefox?
