I need assistance from out of the country!

I live in Australia now and have had extreme difficulty working with Verizon when I am not in the US. I'm extremely frustrated that I've had to spend a lot of money on calling them internationally on their 800 number just to get things worked out, when it is something that should be able to be done online or by email. I need a way to communicate with a rep either on line or by email. I am no longer able to waste $50+ on international calls to them, their "live chat" feature has never worked over here, and they have not made it possible for me to locate an email address to actually communicate with a human that can help me with my account. PLEASE HELP!?!?!?

  • How do I change my plan from out of the country?

On August 27 I called to cancel my Verizon service because I was moving to Australia. I was told that rather than take the full cancellation fee they could move me to this $15/mo plan and I could just pay that each month until my contract ran out on January. That sounded perfect, as it was $60 rather than $130 or so.
Unfortunately two months along I am still being charged over $90/mo. I would call the help line but A) my device is no longer active and B) I don't live in the U.S. and my Australian plan would charge me a fair bit for international calling and C) no one is ever available over the live chat.
I wish this had been taken care of correctly the first time (I have been with Verizon forever and had good service to date) and at this point I just want to cut the cord lest I have to pay another $270 for a phone that I haven't used since August 27. What should I do?

    Michelle,
I appreciate the offer... but as I said before I cannot call that number because I live in Australia. Does Toll Free in this case imply that I won't be charged for making an international call? If I just take the cost then I am spending a lot of money to (hopefully) save a piece of the money that I was supposed to have saved in the first place.
How about this: the call I made from my account on the morning of August 27 would have been recorded. The person who I worked with would have taken notes as to what was supposed to have been done. If you need my voice to authorize any change then just follow those notes or replay the call. Does that work?
I am willing to have a Skype conversation with someone since that won't cost me anything, but long distance calling gets prohibitively expensive when I don't know how long I'd be on hold- that last part isn't anyone's fault, but it's a fact of life.

  • Buying iTune store videos from out of the country

I found a link tonight for a British TV show called Red Dwarf that I wanted to download for my iPhone. When I clicked on the link a pop up came up telling me that I have to go to the UK store to get the videos. The prices are in Pounds but I don;t know if they will work on my iPhone if buy them?
Can some some let me know?
    Thanks!
    -Lars

You will need an account to that countries iTS - to have that account in that country you will need a credit card and billing address from that country.
I have a USA iTS account with a USA billing address and credit card. I cannot purchase from the UK iTS or German, France, etc.
I believe there is a limit as to how large a file that you can d/l to the iPod/iPhone. A TV show at 500 meg+ will likely be too large to d/l direct to the iPhone.

  • I have an SIII and will be traveling out of the country.  Do I need to get a micro SIM card ? (I was told that Verizon has them for free but it needs to be set up and there was a charge for this.

I have a Samsung SIII and will be traveling out of the country. Do I need to get a micro SIM card instaslled for international ?  I was told Verizon has them free for customers but that it needs to be "sert up". Also, are there alternatives to going through the verizon data plan (which is very expensive.
    Thanks

Your phone already has a micro SIM card in the device so it can connect to the VZW network. You will need an international plan from VZW if you intend to use that SIM card. Otherwise you can get a new SIM card from the local carrier and setup the phone for global use with a separate APN with that carrier's specific information.

  • Hello! I'm out of the country and all my iWeb information is on my computer at home. Now I need to make changes on the webpage... how can i do that without using the computer i made the page on? Thank you!!

Hello! I'm out of the country and all my iWeb information is on my computer at home. Now I need to make changes on the webpage... how can i do that without using the computer i made the page on? Thank you!!

iWeb uses the domain.sites2 files to store its assets.
    You'll find it here :
    ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/
where ~ is your Home directory.
If you take a computer with you, you have to store that file in the same location.
It's not different from taking documents with you if you want to edit them.
A solution is to remotely control your computer at home.
TeamViewer, LogMeIn, Apple Remote Desktop or any VNC application you can use, like "Chicken of the VNC".

  • I paid early termination fee two months ago to Verizon and am now out of the country. Am trying to unlock the phone but the local guys say they are not able to. I see from the blog here that iPhone 5 comes unlocked. Is it true?? Do I still have to unlock.

Thank you for reaching out to us, Texasman. Sad to see that
you have left the VZW family, but it is definitely awesome to be able to
travel! Regarding your iPhone 5, the phone is unlocked for international usage.
Just need an active local SIM card that is compatible with your iPhone. Your local provider
may need to configure some settings under Cellular, but it should pick up signal. Just in
case, make sure that Settings>Cellular>Roaming>Voice & Data are
    active.

I'm from the USA but am on vacation in Brazil; I have a great WiFi connection but can not connect to the iTunes Store. Is this because I am out of the Country?

Thank you very much for your insight; I guess I had assummed that iPads/iPhones/iPods were here in Brazil and further assumed that the iTunes store would also be available.

  • I recently thought I lost my iPhone and I erased it but now that I found it. I cannot get the this iPhone message is lost please call ********* I am out of the country my laptop is at home. I cannot access I tune. How do I fix this. I have an iPhone 4s

I recently thought I lost my iPhone and I erased it but now that I found it. I cannot get the this iPhone message is lost please call ********* I am out of the country my laptop is at home. I cannot access I tune. How do I fix this. I need to get it back on so I can face time with my family. The phone says 3G but it keeps saying on list mode. I signed on icloud and removed it from the account and nothing. Please help!

If you removed the device from your iCloud account rather than using the "Stop Lost Mode" option, then you will most certainly need to restore the iPhone, and that will require a computer running iTunes.

  • My wife and I want to swap her 4s for my 4 while a take a short trip out of the country.  We use the same email address for itunes but different for email.  Can we just change our phone numbers and email addresses so we get our own messages?

My wife and I want to swap her iphone 4s for my iphone 4 while I take a short trip out of the country.  We use the same itunes account but have different email accounts.  Can we just change our phone numbers with our carrier and change email addresses on our phones so we get correct messages, with out disturbing our other apps?

The email is simple. Just delete her email acoount on her iPhone and configure your account into the phone and then do the same for her on your phone.
The harder issue is that to switch the cellular phone service you will need to switch the SIM cards and the two phones do not use the same size SIM card.

  • Can I have my iPhone 5 serviced out of the country of purchase?

I have two iPhone 5's, mine (Model: MD298DN/A, Serial: C3*******TWF, iOS: 7.1.2) and my wife's (Model: MD297DN/A, Serial: C3*******TWD, iOS: 7.1.2), both are eligible for the Battery and Sleep Button Replacement Programs. I work for the US Department of State and move every two to three years. The phones were purchased November of 2012 in Frankfurt, Germany, while I was posted there; however, I am currently posted to Bangkok, Thailand, with no plans to return to Germany. I just brought my phones into a service center in Thailand and was informed that I would have to return to Germany or have permission from Apple, to have the service performed out of the country of original purchase. Could you please issues this permission for both phones? Thank you in advance for your time and attention.

Do not post your serial numbers on this public website.  Had you read the terms of this forum, you would know not to do that, and also know that Apple doesn't review these forums.
Edit: Additionally, the first serial number you provided isn't a valid Apple Serial number.  The second one is.  I assume that's a typo on your part.

The reset link will show on your account if you have a rescue email address on it, if you only have alternate email addresses then it won't show.
If the country where you and your iTunes account are isn't on this page (you need to be in a country to use its store) : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
then you can try contacting support via this page and explain that you've forgotten your answers, don't have a rescue email address, and your country isn't on the HT5699 page and see what they reply with : https://ssl.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html

  • Is AirPort a cellular connection that can be used out in the country?

Can the AirPort be used out in the country?

If you are saying that you only have celllular service, you will need an adapter like the example shown below to be able to connect an AirPort Extreme.
    http://www.wirelessnwifi.com/Cradlepoint-CBR400
Make sure that the device you choose will support your cellular service before you buy any product.

  • How come i cant use my iphone out of the country?

do i need anything special to make my iphone to work out of the country?

Well, yes. Verizon's network is CDMA, most of the other networks in the world are GSM. So the hardware will not work anywhere there is not a CDMA network. I think there are about 40 countries that have CDMA networks in addition to GSM. Verizon should have the list on their web site. In addtion, the phone is locked to Verizon, so anywhere you go you will be paying roaming rates, which will quickly bankrupt you.
If you take the phone with you turn off Cellular Data and use only WiFi hotspots. You will not be able to make or receive phone calls, but in most countries you can buy a cheap phone ($10-$20) and pay as you go SIM to make phone calls. If you want to receive phone calls also sign up for a free Google Voice account and set it to forward to your temporary GSM phone.

  • RVS4000: Need help with out-of-the-box device

The router is performing very badly.
    1. Router's "INTERNET" is connected to ADSL cable modem, providing automatically an IP address.
    2. The device is getting "freezed"/"stoned" very often. The longest time record for up-time was just over 1 hour. The shortest up-time was somewhere over 2 minutes.
    3. When "freezed" the router:
        a. Still can perform as a switch
        b. No access to WAN
        c. No ping to the router
        d. Green indication lamps.
        e. No access to the web-interface
    4. Same behavior with 1.3.0.5, 1.3.1.0 and 1.3.2.0 firmwares
    5. Sometimes after "Restore to factory defaults" DIAG-RED led is lit, and does not go off.
    6. To get device back helps to power-off it for an hour or two.
Is it possible to get any information from the router, when it is "freezed"

    Pavel Kopylov,
It look like we got out of sync. I see you just sent another reply about opening the box Friday.
With it only being Friday, I would take it back to the store I bought it from and get another. The same or better.
    ======================================================================
If you want to use this as a learning experiance and figure out this problem yourself, then the following maybe for you:
In all of your communications. I hear you saying your RVS-4000 freezes and will not communicate. No in or out of data. Is that correct?
You are also saying, these freezes occur at various times. Correct?
Which I hope this means is that it is working until it stops working...
If that is correct. Then you need to figure out if the problem is coming in over your WAN connection or it's the hardware of the Router itself.
If you think it's the hardware of the Router. Then do things like measure the temperatures of the Router. (Carefully) Try to heat it or cool it to see if this makes it fail, quicker... Check the Voltage to this Router and make sure it's correct and you are not getting Black outs or brownouts, etc... Also check for lose data connectors. (Watch the lights on the front panel)
However, If you think this is from a TCP/UDP attack on your Router. Then you can place a HUB between your Router and the Cable/DSL Modem and the Router. Next plug in a PC into the same HUB and run Network Software Monitoring on this PC in Continues Record mode. Until a failure. Then go thru the Data and see what you find.
There are a few free Network Software Monitoring Tools you can find and download. Even Microsoft has a nice one for free. Microsoft Network Monitor 3.x
You can also buy another Router. The same or better and if you have the same kind of problems. Then it just might be coming in over your connection. And the new Router can then be returned as its still new.
You can call Cisco and or your local ISP and work with them on this problem.
These are just a few Ideas... I'm sure others will have even more.
    Bruce
