I just installed the Trial of Creative Cloud in both my latest version of iMac and Surface Pro 3. What I would ideally like to do is work on my iMac when I am at home and then when I and on business trips work in my Surface Pro 3, with any edits syncing between both devices seamlessly... can someone please help!!!

with any edits syncing between both devices seamlessly.
Using which Adobe software specifically?
There are many apps and the syncing process varies depending on which you are using.

  • ICloud Sync problems on iMac and MacBook Pro

When I add files to my iCloud/pages folder on my iMac, those files will not download on my MacBook Pro. When I add files to iCloud/pages folder on my MacBook Pro, those files will not download on my iMac. The files do show up on iCloud.com. I am using the same apple id on both computers. If I create a file on my iMac it shows up on my MacBook Pro but there is a cloud with a down pointing arrow next to it, but it never downloads. Vice versa is true if creating files on my MacBook Pro. If I create a folder on iCloud drive (iCloud/Folder) and put files in it they seem to sync properly, but files in subfolders created inside iCloud/Pages are the ones that do not sync properly. This makes iCloud Drive very unreliable for me. Help please? Thinking of going back to Google Drive to keep my files in sync across my iMac, MacBook Pro, iPhone 6, and iPad Air.

I have the exact same problem. iCloud drive on my iMac and macbook pro contain some of the same files, but not all.
Files that haven't synced are several days old rather than weeks to months old, so possibly this is a verrrry slow sync issue hopefully.

  • What's the best way to share my Aperture and FCPX projects between an iMac and MacBook Pro?

    Greetings,
I own both an iMac and MacBook Pro and I'm interested in figuring out the best way to have access to my iTunes, Aperture and Final Cut Pro X files not only when I'm at home using the iMac, but when I'm out and about with the MBP.
I'm sure there are others among us who require a similar setup so I was hoping you guys could share with me how you solved this little problem, and also inform me of any potential negatives for your method so that I'm well prepared. Thanks.

Best is a subjective term, as it will ultimately come down to preference. The fastest however, would be to wait until they market has a few thunderbolt drives available for purchase...
But like the first poster stated, a firewire 800 drive, would be the more convenient choice for now. Or you could set the shared folder on your iMac to be avaible on your network and use it to allow your MBP to access it wirelessly.
Obviously whatever you change, just save it back to the same folder on the iMac. Keep in mind it will not be as fast as the first suggestion (unless it is a wired network), but may be usefull for smaller files.
However, you should have everthing backed up via an external drive, that is always useful...

  • Help needed to sync apps across iMac and Macbook Air via ICloud

I have a new Mac and I want to sync (if possible) my applications such as pic collage etc between my iMac & my Macbook Air.
The main reason I want to do this is because I have set up templates in my macbook air apps and I want to use my iMac through the day and macbook air at night and be able to access these without doing screen share.
I am also looking to pay someone $150 to set up a few things for me. I am in Coorparoo if anyone is interested please contact me here or at
    Thankyou

Tracey almost any program you've purchased from the Apple App Store can be downloaded to multiple computers legally. Programs you've purchased elsewhere are typically licensed either to the user or to the computer and to be completely legal you'd need to determine which is the case for the programs you want to install on more than one computer. Most documents can be saved to iCloud (assuming you have enough space on iCloud) or other cloud services. Cloud services such as DropBox and Microsoft's OneDrive have applications that sync files automatically which allows you to share files between computers. However many (most?) applications don't automatically move templates into the cloud since they tend to be saved in the user's Library folder which often isn't synced. So templates must be dealt with on a case by case basis. (I'll often save a document that I want to use as a template and then make a fresh copy of it when I want to use it as my template)

  • How do I get iPhoto to sync between my iMac and PowerBookPro?

I'm trying to sync the iPhoto libraries with 700-800 photos each, many of them duplicates, on my iMac and my MacBookPro. And I'm not finding a way to do that. Apparently the Cloud only syncs them if I use Aperture, which I don't want to do. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks

  • BT Yahoo mail no longer syncs between two iMac and MacBook

I've used BT Yahoo Mail on an iMac, Macbook and iPad successfully for some time with IMAP settings.  Following recent upgrades, the inbox is no longer kept in sync on the different computers.  Messages read on one computer are not marked as read on the other, and newly arrived incoming mail is not displayed on the second computer, having appeared on the first.  The only solution seems to be to rebuild the mailbox - tedious as it takes time, and you don't know until you try whether there is mail to be synced.
I'm using Mail 6.5 (1508) on the iMac, and Mail 5.3 (1283) on the MacBook.
Is there any solution to this please?
    Thanks.
    Stephen

  • Problems with sync between iphone 5 and macbook pro

Never been able to sync macbook pro and iphone5.
mac dosn't recognise it in anyway. done all normal stuff check for updates, deleted itunes through terminal and re-downloaded it. still no luck.
iphone does sync with other laptops. and the usb port on my mac does work properly, i have no problems with the sync between it and an iphone 4s or even a usb memory stick.
    os x 10.8.5 macbook
    ios 7.0.4 iphone5

Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore
Follow the 3R's- if a restart does not solve your problem proceed
    User troubleshooting is:
    1.restart, ie power off/on,
    2. reset  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430,
    3. restore from backup, restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

  • Syncing project files/paths between an iMac and Macbook Pro

I work in music production and am looking to purchase a new iMac. However, I'm on the road about 30% of the time, and need to continue to work on in-progress projects on my Macbook Pro. So I need my project files, and all the associated files (plugins, WAVs, soundbanks, etc) to exist in sync on both computers with idential paths.
Basically I'm looking for the easiest way to create and make edits to a project on my desktop, be able to access/edit that project on my laptop when I'm travelling, and have all the changes I made on the road back on the desktop when I return.
Thanks in advance for any help!

You need to do three things:
Set up a way to find your desktop computer when you're on the road
Establish a network connection to the desktop
Send changed files over the network
There's more than one way to meet each of these requirements. This is only an example.
1 and 2 are most easily accomplished using the "Back to My Mac" feature of iCloud. You then need to enable Remote Login (SSH) on the desktop, and follow the instructions linked below to connect to it:
Remote SSH using Back To My Mac
If you have a static external IP address for the network the desktop is on, you don't necessarily need "Back to My Mac."
For 3, you can use the Unison File Synchronizer. It's free and works well, but it's not easy to configure. See the documentation for details.

  • Syncing itunes between my iMac and MacBook Pro

I use my iMac as my main computer and use a MacBook Pro for work. I like to keep my MacBook up to date with the itunes I run on my iMac.
I use an iomega 500GB to run time machine and store my music for my MacBook, is there any way of syncing my iTunes on my iomega hard drive with my imac?
    Thanks

  • How do I share directories between my iMac and Macbook Pro?

    Hi there,
I have a Macbook Pro (13 inch, Mid 2010, 8Gb RAM and 1Tb SSHD drive) and an iMac (2012 model, 8GB RAM, 1TB hard drive). Both run the most recent version of Yosemite.
At the moment I tend to use the iMac as the master computer, its the one I put new music on, new photos, etc. The Macbook I use when not at home but it obviously does not have anywhere near as much music or photos on it. It's annoying as I can't synch my iPhone with the Macbook without losing files that are on the iMac.
Is there a way that I can share the same directories for iTunes and iPhoto (And it's replacement Photos when it comes out). The ideal situation being that if I update one, it also updates the other.
Would having cloud storage be the answer? Then again would the Macbook have access to these directories if I'm not in range of WiFi?
    Thanks!
    J

I use iTunes Match ($25/year – not too expensive) and iCloud Photo Library for this. I sync my phone with the desktop computer, but I don't store all my music and photos on the phone because there's not anywhere near enough capacity.
All of your Apple devices can access these services.

  • I need to choose between an air and a pro

I need some help chosing between a MacBook Pro and a MacBook Air, for uni, and just don't know what is best and worth the value. I study some design subjects so I may need to use some softwares, but otherwise, just general use laptop.

depends on what you need it for.   If no video editing or gaming , get the Air
I own both, and love both, but Id never part with the Air
AIr is on sale right now, $100 off, and is faster.  The new Air just came out.
Your choice is subjective, weigh the differences. Same as other people have to do

  • Void between the iMacs and Mac Pro's.

The iMac is a powerful system but lack of PCI slots, single display does not work for everyone.
I want to upgrade and sell my G5 Dual 2.3 and move on to intel macs. A core 2 Duo Intel mac with PCI slots and multi display support will suit my purposes just fine.
I could go Macbook with external display but if its a machines i will carry around, i dont feel comfortable carrying my main studio machine around.
Or maybe i just haven't gotten out of the mindset and accepted an iMac as a super professional machine.
Do i make any sense at all ?
ps: Who's running an iMac as their main studio machine in atleast a semi-pro environment where clients come in regularly. And how do a FW interface and Harddrive behave together........ ?

Does anyone else feel that Apple should have kept atleast 2 lower end options for those who want to be on a Mac Pro, but cant afford them.
They had moved to a "4 core" base model some time ago and you can still configure it with 4 cores you just get 1 Quad instead of 2 Duals. The cost is the cost of the system my friend but it is a pro workstation that you will have no need to upgrade from for a long time. These Intel's have a good lifespan compared to the G5s.

    No such Mac.

    For audio its not.

    Sure you do!

Main problem with the iMacs is the lack of expansion as you have pointed out. You will always have devices competing for bandwidth on the internal FireWire bus. Also the FireWire bus is only as fast as the slowest device on the tree so you can lose performance quickly that way. With expansion ports you can record in one bus and write out another and get much better performance that way. But with 4 drive bays on the MacPro you won't need to write out a bus except for backup or if you were to get an external RAID.
    Cheers!

  • Notes not syncing between iOS devices and MacBook Pro

Notes created on my MacBook Pro and iPad Air are not showing up on my iPhone6 and notes created on my iPhone6 are not showing up on the MacBook and iPad unless I restart my iPhone. The iPad and MacBook are syncing fine just not the iPhone.... all three devices are signed into the same iCloud account and Notes are set to sync on all three devices.

I tried that a few times but it didn't do anything...
It seems to be working now... after I restarted and the notes showed up it still wouldn't show any new ones but they all of the sudden showed up and it's syncing now... So I guess the problem is fixed but I have no idea how!

  • ICal doesn't sync between my iphone and macbook pro

It takes several hours for my iCal entries to show up on my iPhone, and yet many entries are still incorrectly identified by color (not picking up edits from laptop on iPhone). My iPhone is set to push updates every 15 minutes, and my laptop .Mac preference is to update automatically. Even when I plug in to laptop and sync in iTunes, it does not update iCal from my laptop to my iPhone.
The Apple store geniuses completely replaced my MobileMe account a few weeks ago since they could not get my laptop & iPhone to sync and hadn't been since I opened the account last summer (apparently neither were talking to the cloud). Compared to not working at all, it synced much better after that, though inconsistently and with delay. Help me!!

On your Mac, go to sytem preferences and click on the icloud icon.  Turn on iCloud.
When prompted, enter your Apple ID for iCloud. If you don't see a prompt, click the Apple icon at the top left of your screen and choose System Preferences. Click iCloud, enter your Apple ID, and select the services you’d like to enable.
One of the services is ICal.
